      Make sure the "Bagel" option is not selected. This option will toast one side. Also, make sure the toaster is set upright on a firm, level, heat-resistant surface.     We got this to replace an old two slice toaster. We have different shade preferences, so we got a 4 slice. The frozen feature seems to work well, adding a little time to compensate for it. So far it toasts bread like it should.

    I find it very slow to toast. The heating elements do not all heat up. It is my opinion that you have to spend a lot more money to find a proper working toaster. All the Chinese products are sub-standard.
