Posted .We want to help you with the heating performance of your toaster. We recommend checking the browning setting selected for toasting. Select a lower setting next time if your toast is too dark, you can do so by following the instructions in page 5 of the owner's manual here: https://files.bbystatic.com/sFn1gNQbCg8gdqMOLfrcQA%3D%3D/Manual
If the issue persists after troubleshooting, we recommend reaching out to our warranty team at 833-426-3393.

Does the job but could have been better
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice having the four slice option. Only noticeable thing is the two toaster knobs seem a little cheap/flimsy on what should be a well constructed u it for the price.

Don’t buy it
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Initially was happy with this. However after a couple months it was taking longer and longer to toast. It’s now been one year and two of the burners don’t work. Totally disappointed.

It is attractive, and it works well!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While I don’t normally assess the looks of kitchen appliances, I think it is an attractive toaster with its use of a stainless-steel housing, buttons, and levers. There are two sets of controls on front of the toaster, each controlling two toasting slots on either side. The bread slots are normal sized – meaning that you can place a slice of bread or a bagel in each one, but nothing too thick or too long. There are three buttons for each toaster pair, as well as one turn knob for controlling how well done the slices will be when finished. The three buttons are: Bagel, Frozen, and Cancel. When you put a slice or two in the toaster and push down the lever, the Cancel button illuminates by default. Pressing Cancel stops the cooking process and raises the lever allowing you to easily eject whatever you’re toasting. If you are toasting a bagel, push down the lever, and then press the Bagel button. In doing so, both the Cancel button and the Bagel button will be illuminated. If the item you are toasting is frozen, push down the lever and press Frozen. As with the Bagel option, the Frozen button and Cancel button will illuminate. Okay, so how does it toast? Well, I’ve toasted a number of slices of bread to find out. A thick slice of Rye bread required setting the doneness knob to the number 5. By comparison, that same thick sliced Rye bread would be done on a 2 ½ setting on my old toaster. On this toaster, I initially had it on 4 but it wasn’t toasted to my liking. So, I had to increase the doneness to 5 to get it how I liked it. A regular slice of bread was perfectly done at 4. I am merely pointing out that you’ll have to play with the toaster to find which doneness levels work best for you. I haven’t run into any problems with overcooking or undercooking on one side versus the other. And both sides of this 4-slice unit worked equally as well. We toasted the thick sliced Rye bread I mentioned, a normal slice of white bread at room temperature, and a slice of frozen white bread. All came out to our liking. The frozen slice, of course, required us to press the Frozen button at the outset. We don’t normally keep bagels at home, so we haven’t tried those as yet. But we’ve always had to smash the bagels thinner to get them to fit our toasters. I’m curious to see if the same is required with this toaster. All in all, this toaster does exactly what we expected it to do: toast our bread quickly and uniformly. Plus, it is attractive whether it is being used for toasting or simply sitting there looking pretty.

Posted .We're glad you reached out. Please check the browning setting selected for toasting. You may need to select a higher setting if your toast is too light. Also, check that the Frozen button is not selected. If this information is not helpful, we recommend you take advantage of the one year warranty by calling us at: 1-800-432-2737. -Don@GEAppliances

Beautiful toaster that works great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have owned a 2 slice GE toaster for over 20 years now and it has always worked great. This new 4 slice stainless steel toaster is gorgeous. The finish is outstanding but does show more finger prints that are very easy to clean. Performance wise the toaster does an excellent job of toasting everything. It takes a little time to get the settings right for your needs but after you figure it out it works great. My wife likes frozen Belgium waffles and this toaster does an excellent job of toasting them to her liking. She can have her settings on one side and I can have mine for toast on the other. Everything toasts evenly. The openings are wide and accommodate everything we put in it. The lift mechanism raises higher than our old one which often required manually raising the handle to get things out. The individual buttons for bagels, frozen items and the cancel button are large and well lit. If there was one thing I would caution people about is that it can get hot. Especially around the surround on the top of the toaster. GE recommends that you run the unit without anything in it the first time at the highest setting (7) to activate the coils. This worked great but the surround was so hot that you would get burned if you touched it. Be careful this first time or if you use it on the higher settings. All in all this is a beautiful toaster that performs exceptionally well. If it lasts as long as out previous GE toaster we will be thrilled for a long time. We would highly recommend it.

Posted .Hello. We appreciate you letting us know of this experience – we truly hate to hear your toaster stopped working after only a couple months. We know that would be frustrating, especially as you’ve had trouble taking advantage of your warranty. This isn’t the quality ownership experience we want you to have. All GE appliances do actually come with a limited manufacturer’s warranty for the first year. If you wish to take advantage of the warranty covering your toaster, information on that is listed on page 7 of the Use and Care manual; that can be viewed on our GE website by searching for your model number. The manual also has a troubleshooting section on page 6, and resetting the appliance by disconnecting it from power for a couple minutes before reconnecting can also help in some cases. Going forward, we will work to earn back your faith in our brand. We hope this issue is resolved for you soon, and are happy to assist with any other questions or concerns. -Sarah@GEA

Love it
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally, I can get rid of the 2-slot toaster. THE GOOD ~ Nice design. For me it fits perfectly with the stainless/chrome pieces in my kitchen ~ Works great ~ Feels and looks solidly built ~ Use 2 or 4 slices at a time ~ Bagel sized slots ~ Various settings: Normal (with shades settings), Frozen or Bagel THE BAD ~ None yet THE MEH (Could go either way) ~ No alert when finished (see below) OVERALL It's a toaster, so it's hard to complain about much. It works exactly as one would expect a decent toaster to work. We had our last toaster for years. It was a Mickey Mouse toaster (yeah, LOL). When the stuff popped up, it loudly played the theme from Mickey Mouse. It was a nice alert that cut through the din of the usual household noise. This doesn't beep or do anything when it pops up. It is kind of quiet. If you're in the other room watching or doing something and toasting an English muffin at the same time, you probably won't hear the springs pop up. It's great if you're trying to be quiet, but I wish it had at least an option to play an electronic alert or not when your food is done. Other than that, this is definitely something I would recommend to a friend--especially if they have a family or live with a significant other and want to be able to eat their toast or bagels at the same time.

Nice toaster!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My sister was not too keen to a new toaster as her current hold 4 slices in two slots. Its old, toasts uneven, and is actually melted a bit on top, but I got a new one anyway. I love new toasters!!! This one toasts nice and even which is priceless to me! However, when comparing things there was a few unlikeable things about this: 1) TOO SLOW. omg it takes forever almost twice as long as the old toaster (yes we did side-by-side comparison) 2) Slots are not long enough to handle the artisan slices BUT, again it toasts perfect! Super easy to clean, looks amazing. The classic stainless fits anywhere and I love that!

Posted .Hello EAR1965, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry you have not been pleased with the time required to use your new toaster and that the slots do not accommodate some types of bread. We understand how that would be frustrating. We are glad to hear, though, that you have been pleased with the toasting capacity of your toaster. We're always happy to help should you have questions about your appliances.
