Finally, I can get rid of the 2-slot toaster. THE GOOD ~ Nice design. For me it fits perfectly with the stainless/chrome pieces in my kitchen ~ Works great ~ Feels and looks solidly built ~ Use 2 or 4 slices at a time ~ Bagel sized slots ~ Various settings: Normal (with shades settings), Frozen or Bagel THE BAD ~ None yet THE MEH (Could go either way) ~ No alert when finished (see below) OVERALL It's a toaster, so it's hard to complain about much. It works exactly as one would expect a decent toaster to work. We had our last toaster for years. It was a Mickey Mouse toaster (yeah, LOL). When the stuff popped up, it loudly played the theme from Mickey Mouse. It was a nice alert that cut through the din of the usual household noise. This doesn't beep or do anything when it pops up. It is kind of quiet. If you're in the other room watching or doing something and toasting an English muffin at the same time, you probably won't hear the springs pop up. It's great if you're trying to be quiet, but I wish it had at least an option to play an electronic alert or not when your food is done. Other than that, this is definitely something I would recommend to a friend--especially if they have a family or live with a significant other and want to be able to eat their toast or bagels at the same time.

Does not even begin to toast bread evenly or hot enough to melt your butter! I've had enough, definitely replacing!

Worst toaster i have ever bought, only lasted 3 months. After 1 month 1 side stopped working and now both sides no longer work.

My sister was not too keen to a new toaster as her current hold 4 slices in two slots. Its old, toasts uneven, and is actually melted a bit on top, but I got a new one anyway. I love new toasters!!! This one toasts nice and even which is priceless to me! However, when comparing things there was a few unlikeable things about this: 1) TOO SLOW. omg it takes forever almost twice as long as the old toaster (yes we did side-by-side comparison) 2) Slots are not long enough to handle the artisan slices BUT, again it toasts perfect! Super easy to clean, looks amazing. The classic stainless fits anywhere and I love that!

Toaster is no better than the one I was replacing; doesn't toast uniformly and/or at the same degree of browning each time. There are always stripes on the toast. I am disappointed, again!

The GE 4-Slice Toaster certainly does the job if you like toasted bread, bagels, etc. However, it also has some features that make it stand out from the basic toaster. Following are the pros: - Easy to read Operating Instructions with illustrations. - It has separate crumb trays on each side that are easy to remove for cleaning. - It has a nice-looking stainless steel finish that doesn't show fingerprints and is easy to clean with just warm, soapy water. - I have toasted bread on several different level settings (what they call the Shade) and found it to toast evenly on both sides of the bread and true to what I expected, based on the Shade it was set for. - There is a Frozen setting. I tested some frozen bread and it worked great on that setting. Both sides were equally toasted and also true to the Shade level. - Time needed to toast was what I would expect based on the Shade setting. - It also has a Bagel setting that can be used for Bagels or even for English Muffins or frozen waffles. This works well and gave me a nicely toasted Bagel. The slots are plenty big, even for a thick bagel. - There is a Cancel button, which is a nice feature I have not seen before on a toaster. Just in case you ever want to end a toast cycle early, you can use the Cancel button instead of trying to force up the toaster lever. I didn't find any cons to report, as everything works well for me. If you are in need of a new toaster and if you also like to toast frozen bagels, english muffins or waffles, I would recommend this toaster.

Perfect timing on receiving this toaster as my last one, purchased over 10 years ago, just stopped working. Unboxing this toaster was easy and the packaging was adequate to protect it well. I have always been a big fan of stainless-steel appliances and this matches my kitchen décor nicely. I have now had the opportunity to use this toaster on various types of breads, bagels and English muffins and had to try different settings based on the bread. Lighter breads toasted nicely and evenly on setting 4 but denser breads (pumpernickel and sourdough) did better on 5. I tried sourdough on 6 and it burned it pretty quickly so this toaster has some power and heat when needed. Toasting from frozen was as easy as pressing the button on the toaster and while of course it took a bit longer, it was still a nice even toasting. Overall I am satisfied with the evenness of the toasting. Just two very minor “cons”. First, I prefer the crumb tray to be in front or side (not rear as this one is) for ease of use. Just a personal preference. Second, stainless steel has a tendency to attract hard to remove fingerprint stains due to the oil on our skin. Easy to counteract this by waxing the case with standard car wax periodically – I did this prior to using this toaster and it worked beautifully. All in all – love this toaster.

We recently replaced an older toaster with this GE 4-slice toaster, and I am very pleased. The toaster has 4 separate fairly large slots. This allows you to toast a variety of breads and pastries, which I really appreciate. There are two sets of controls. Each control operates a pair of slots. One nice feature is that the buttons are labeled beside them instead of on them. This means the label won't wear off over time. You can adjust the intensity of the toast with a dial that has 8 settings. The toaster does a nice job of toasting bread evenly on any setting you choose. One thing, it seems to take longer to toast than other toasters I've used, but it does a very even and thorough job. There are two crumb trays that can slide out the back of the toaster - one per side. There is also a cord management system under the toaster that comes in handy. The toaster itself is attractive with a stainless type finish. All in all, this is an excellent toaster.

This is one sharp-looking toaster! It is very well designed lightweight, and sturdy. It stays cool to the touch, even after multiple cycles. It toasts evenly and consistently each and every time. I'm actually quite impressed. If you're in the market for a new toaster, I highly recommend you give this one a try; you won't be disappointed! Note: This isn't mentioned in the owner's manual, but you will want to run the toaster empty at the highest setting (7) at least 2 times to season and clean the heating elements. You may notice a slight smell and a little smoke. This is completely normal and the smell dissipates quickly.

Looked good straight out of the box, and the instructions were clear regarding the settings and use. Settings worked great for bagel and toast, with seven choices of shade, the whole family gets what the toast they want. Great on English muffins as well. Finger smudges clean up nicely and crumb tray is easy access. Stores away neatly as it is compact for the number of slices. If you are short on space, or use it frequently, it looks good (very nice finish) enough to leave it on the counter with your other appliances.

This is exactly what I wanted in a toaster! I like my toast on the light side and my hubby prefers his dark. I've never owned a 4 slice toaster, just a two-slice. I now look back on all the time I've lost with a 2 slice toaster. With the dual controls, I can make 4 pieces of toast at the same time with our preferences! The exterior matches my other stainless steel appliances. Highly Recommend.

I’ve had it for over a month now and it works great. It has different settings for bagels and bread and frozen. The older one I was replacing was heavier and the knobs and body felt more substantial than this, other than that I have no complaints with it.

I’ve never been so happy with a toaster. The first one I bought was a 4 slice cheap one and it worked but it had small slots and you had to stop half way and flip the bread over to get it toasted evenly. This one does the trick without hassle and has everything you need, including a bagel option. Slots are large and toaster is heavy. If you need a 4 slice toaster this one is very nice and I am very happy with it. One thing, no crumb tray! The other one didn’t have it either maybe they stopped putting the tray. Would be 5 stars with a tray!

I'm a breakfast all day type of guy, and one of the main things that I like to have done right, is my toast. I've had a toaster for years, that only lightly browns one side, and over cooks the other. So when I seen this toaster, I had to try it out and see how it would work. Once I got the toaster, I couldn't wait to cook my breakfast. I've made toast three times so far with this toaster, and they were perfectly browned on both sides every time! My daughter also toasted her bagels, and said she loves the new toaster. It did not make her bagels extra crispy like the last toaster did. I'm still trying out settings on this toaster, but for right now I'm extremely happy!

The GE -4 slice toaster is the best I have ever owned. It fits and toasts every type of bread we enjoy. Bagels, English Muffins, multi-grain breads, and frozen leftover waffles. The settings make it adjust to exaclty how you want your bread toasted. My old toaster only toasted the bread on one side...very annoying wasted too much time. I highly recommend this GE, it is really a toaster that will do what it is meant to do. Enjoy what you toast YOUR WAY.

It's a toaster and it does its job. It's simple to use and toast comes out evenly browned. But this toaster looks really good while doing its job. The stainless steel finish goes great with our other appliances.

This is a very modern looking toaster appliance which I love. Since it is a 4 slice toaster it does command a wider counter-top space footprint. It has very easy to use controls and you can set your browning adjustments from 1 to 7. The appliance did a nice job toasting both bread and bagels. If you use the bagel setting, the toaster only operates the inside elements therefore you need to place the cut side facing inwards. If you like your bagel toasted on both sides, just use the regular setting of the toaster. Before using the appliance for the first time, you should operate the unit empty once or twice in order to burn off the smell on the new elements using the darkness control set to 7. I found that after the second cycle of the empty burn, the appliance no longer produced any smell. Overall this is a wonderful product with a 4 slice capability which has separate controls. Its stainless steel look is modern and fits well in any kitchen. Registering your product is made easy as you can scan the QR code that automatically populates your products name and serial number. Super easy, awesome. Great product.

I’m pleased with how the toaster has sufficiently toasted bread and bagels evenly. Since I recently purchased this item, I am hopeful it will continue to operate consistently in the future.

Love it! Looks classy and matches my other stainless steel appliances. Also, the toast/bagels pop up high enough so you don't have to dig for it. Also, works great!
