It feels like it struggles to cool a room that is medium sized of what its designed for. Its pretty quiet and doesnt run up the light bill but i would get a different unit if i could do it again.

Thanks for reviewing your air conditioner. We're happy to hear your air conditioner is quiet and efficient. We do apologize for your unit not cooling properly. If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, please check the following:
Installation:
Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room.
Check to make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds or furniture, the air flow is restricted and the cooling performance will be affected.
Ambient Temperature (Environment):
Check the outdoor temperatures. Operating a room air conditioner if the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or below will limit the cooling capacity of the unit.
Check the indoor temperatures. If the room is 64 degrees Fahrenheit or below already, the thermostat cannot cycle the compressor on.
Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot it will take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up.
Ice on Coils/Clogged Filter:
If there is ice on the coils, then the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on the coils is to not run the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting and set the fan switch to the highest position.
Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. Filter removal and location varies depending on the individual model.
Setting/Operation:
Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting on a model with a mechanical (knob) dial control will provide maximum cooling. Setting the temperature to a lower setting on a model with electronic, digital controls will provide maximum cooling.
Cycling on and off too frequently means the unit may be oversized for the area to be cooled or the filter needs to be cleaned. Let us know if you have any questions. Mike@GEA

From the outset, it has been nothing short of a disaster. The unit arrived already malfunctioning, failing to cool the room effectively despite following all installation instructions carefully. It has been nothing but a constant source of inconvenience and discomfort. I have tried contacting customer service multiple times, but the responses have been either delayed or unhelpful. To make matters worse, the unit's poor performance has left me sweltering in the heat, significantly impacting my daily life. I expected far better from a product with such a high price tag and from a company with a reputable name. I am demanding a full refund or an immediate replacement of this defective unit. My patience is wearing thin, and I hope this issue is resolved promptly to avoid any further discomfort.

I know this is not a bug because I have two of these units and they have the same problem. You set the unit to maintain a target temperature, and at first it cools the room as expected and goes to sleep once the target is hit. Problem is, it never wakes up again, no matter how hot the room gets. I know the unit isn't off because it's still reporting a current room temp—just not the real current room temp. What it's reporting is whatever the temperature was when it last cooled the room! It will say the room is still 75°F when it has actually gone up to 85°F and we are sweating buckets. I have read the manual front-to-back. This is not a user error. There is some serious design flaw that basically makes this a manual-only unit that WILL NOT hold a temperature automatically once set. If you manually turn it off and on again, or switch modes, or reset the target temp low enough to turn on the fan and cooling functions again, it will suddenly start reading the real temperature and work towards the target temp—but it WILL NOT DO THIS AUTOMATICALLY WITHOUT MANUAL INTERVENTION. Completely useless.
