And GE doesn’t service it or make replacement parts so I couldn’t even pay for it to be fixed. It’s a “RTV” return to vendor unit according to GE. I used it for one summer. Don’t buy.

Owned for 2 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this loved it for the first month, then started to have a couple odd issues, wifi all of a sudden disconnected and wouldn't reconnect, didn't bother figuring it out because wifi on it was a pain the first time too. Then it was powered up but off, and wouldn't turn on, about an hour later it worked. Come July, the hottest week of of the year, it is now dead. Tt will power up like it is going to work but not do anything. Since I'm sure there are plenty of other people having issues with GE appliances the closest support window is 2 weeks out, so for the hottest week of the year my brand new $400 dollar air conditioner is worthless. I did some research to see if there were any troubleshooting tips outside of unplugging it for a while, and there were not, but I did find that apparently the circuit boards have bad traces, so the unit is fine just the control board has died.

The second one has last 2 seasons but now it has mold gowing inside and I have to clean the filter every 2 weeks which is way too often compared to my frigidair model. Its been a headache with this and sometimes it doesnt feel as cold as it should on the lowest temp. Im returning it and im very hesitant on buying another GE airconditioner.
