Got two of these and both were defective. The first one rattled loudly and the second wouldn’t stay on or blow air. Spent $110 on both installations that I won’t get back. Very disappointed. Do not buy. Return process painful.

So upset that I spent more than 400 dollars for this piece of junk. It stopped working after 2 weeks. Then have to wait another two weeks for GE to come and look at it. I won’t be happy until I get a full refund and they take that piece of junk with them

I bought this for our bedroom. The minimum temperature is 64. Clearly I didn’t do enough research to make sure we had a cool room. We wake up some mornings to stuffy air. Next time I’ll get something that does the job.

Hi there - We are sorry to hear that your air conditioner is not cooling your room well. It's really important that the air conditioner is sized correctly for you room. An improperly-sized air conditioner can result in a cold, clammy environment or an inadequately cooled room. A comfortable room is often more a factor of low humidity than low temperature. There are two troubleshooting articles on our website that provide more information on this issue; they're titled, "Air Conditioner Not Cooling Well" and "Air Conditioners Sizing Guidelines." We hope this helps! Be well, Kelsey@GEA GE_Appliances

This unit leaks all over the place inside the house. We checked to make sure that it was installed properly and it's fine. I considered that all the rain we had was a problem as perhaps it comes through the openings on top of the unit, fills the pan inside, and spills into the house. However, no rain, and it's still leaking everywhere. Also, the fan isn't strong at all. You have to stand in front of the unit to cool off. Lastly, the air that it blows is not cool. Not cool people!!! Now it's too late to be able to return it...how convenient. Very upsetting, and for the BTUs that we paid for. Unbelievable.

Hi there, we couldn't be more sorry to see that your air conditioner stopped working after just 60 days. We're sure this was extremely frustrating and we're happy to help. We first suggest disconnecting power to the unit for 2-3 minutes to reset the controls. Hey,

We appreciate you sharing your experience with us. Our apologies to hear that your AC is not cooling well.
If your room air conditioner is not cooling properly, there are a few things you should investigate.

      Check the Installation:
Make sure the air conditioner is properly sized for the room.
Make sure nothing is blocking the front of the air conditioner. When the unit is blocked by curtains, blinds or furniture, air flow is restricted and the cooling performance will be affected.
      Check the Ambient Temperature (Environment):
Check the outdoor temperature. Operating a room air conditioner if the outdoor temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit or below will limit the cooling capacity of the unit.
Check the indoor temperature. If the room is already 64 degrees Fahrenheit or below, the thermostat cannot turn on the compressor.
Consider the temperature of the room when the air conditioner was first turned on. If the room was very hot, it will take longer to cool the room. When heat is stored up in walls, furniture, rugs and draperies, it will take longer to cool the room down. Whenever possible, turn the air conditioner on before the room heats up.
Check the Coils and Air Filter:
If there is ice on the coils, the outdoor temperature may be below 70 degrees. The best way to prevent ice on the coils is to avoid running the unit if the outdoor temperature is below 70 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is close to 70 or you are unsure of the temperature, you can turn the thermostat to a warmer setting and set the fan switch to the highest position.
Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. Filter removal and location varies depending on the individual model.
      Check the Settings and Operation:
Check the thermostat setting. The highest setting on a model with a mechanical (knob) dial control will provide maximum cooling. Setting the temperature to a lower setting on a model with electronic, digital controls will provide maximum cooling.
If the air conditioner is cycling on and off too frequently, the unit may be oversized for the area being cooled or the filter may need to be cleaned. If this doesn't work, please reach out to us on social media for assistance. Mike@GEA GE_Appliances

I would not recommend this unit or any purchases from this store. Not only did the panel/board from this unit completely stop working, when I called GE for further assistance was told - this specific model was defective and could not be returned or exchanged. All this in less than 9 months of purchase and 2 months of physical use. BB should do better when selling items and notifying when they go on such list.

Thoroughly disappointed in this unit. I purchased back in april of 2022, properly stored it over the winter. Kept up with the maitnenance and cleaned real good before using this year. Now the unit freezes up and cannot maintain 80 degrees in a small sunroom. GE wants to charge to send a tech and due to being out of warranty they will not stand by their product. Buyer beware!

Purchased this smart air conditioner to replace a year an 18 month old GE air conditioner that stopped blowing cold air. I figured we would spend the extra money and get a smart air conditioner. It connected and worked for 1 week and now won't connect. Tried to uninstall the app and also tried on 3 different phones. 13 days old amd Best Buy wants me to return it to the store for a replacement. Why not service it as we also bought the geek squad protection. If i have to remove it and take it back to the store i will be getting a refund.

Dont waste your time buying this product. It only worked for the first 2-3 weeks. Best buy ONLY gives you 15 days for a return then will not accept it after that. My ac stopped working within the 3rd week of having it. I was told i would have to contact the manufacturer for a return authorization, yet the manufacturer told me they don't do those authorizations. So here i am stuck with an ac that is blowing out HOT AIR. Less than 30 days from my purchase date and yet cant receive a replacement or return because its past 15 days.
