I made some cornbread in the oven. I never had to open the door to see if they were done. All I had to do is turn the light on

When the oven is operating the cook-top surface gets extremely hot to the point that it could melt any plastic objects placed there, not to mention burning your hand! 2. The oven temperature setting is not calibrated, so you need to get an oven thermometer to get an accurate reading.

Posted .Thanks for sharing your concerns. The vents for the oven are located on the underside of the backsplash. It is not unusual for the cooktop to heat up. How hot it can become depends on the oven temperature and how long the oven is turned on. We encourage you to review the safety instructions found on Pages 3-7 of the online Owner's Manual. The manual can be found by clicking on the Features tab and scrolling to the bottom of the Features list. I bought it open box so maybe that was the main issue.

Some weird sensors built into the cooking coils decide when to power the coils. In other words if they think the pan is too hot the coil goes off. You have no control over the cooktop. Even the type of pay you have can effect whether your heating coil stays on or goes off. I can’t even boil water because the sensor decides to turn off the coil before the water even begins boiling.
