Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the large capacity, clean washes, and quiet operation of this 5.2 Cu. Ft. High-Efficiency Top Load Washer. Many appreciate its ease of use and the size of the machine. However, some customers note that the washer's depth can make retrieving clothes difficult, and that the spin cycle may be loud or cause the machine to become unbalanced. The balance feature is also a point of concern for some users.

I don’t know I’m not satisfied at all with my purchase and I’m trying to call the company to see how they can replace it or fix it or something. Don’t buy it

Hi Susan, thanks so much for your review. We're sorry to hear about the issues that you've had with your washer! The Department of Energy (DOE) sets standards for washer water usage. Over the years, the amount of allowable water usage has been reduced. With washers using less water and energy, you will no longer see a wash basket full of water. Most washers are now programmed with load sensing to adjust water levels based on the cycle and load size, so the amount of water used will vary. - It is not recommended to manually add more water to the washer. Some models have a Deep Fill option which adds additional water to the wash load, regardless of whether you used a manual or a load-sensing fill. You can use this Deep Fil function by pressing the pad once to add 3 gallons of water to the load or you can press and hold the pad for 3 seconds to tell the washer to fill to its max capacity. - For your detergent issue, if you're adding detergent to the Smart Dispense tank, you would need to make sure that the Smart Dispense option is selected on the control panel. If you're wanting to add detergent directly to the wash, you would need to make sure the Smart Dispense option it turned off. We hope that this is helpful! If you have other questions, feel free to send us an email or reach out to us on social media. Stay safe. -Michael@GEA GE_Appliances

    This washer is Ok

This washer is ok. It took a few washes to figure what settings are best for my specific household. Settings must to be set to heavy towels prewash, max spin, heavy soil & extra water if you want your clothes to be clean so a wash takes a minimum of one and one half hour. None of the other settings are of use if you have dirty kids clothing. This machine has cycles of just soaking so gentle cleaning not useful for soiled clothes. There is option to soak or prewash cycles if needed. Powdered detergents do not dissolve in this wash leaving a residue especially on dark clothes. You’ll need to have a step handy if you are shorter than 5 ft 5 because you will not be able to reach the bottom of this washer because it’s very deep. The machine will shut down if load is too heavy or unbalanced during washing, so you would have to start long wash all over again since there aren’t any options to resume cycle without restarting and rebalancing the entire wash. It does not drain if too many towels (so no more than 5 towels in addition to regular clothing) but you can resolve by adding drain & spin cycle after. You have to be careful not to open lid without checking digital display reading lid locked or plastic lock latch would be damaged. This washer is a good choice only you’re willing to pay more if you like the fancy digital settings with the millions of options which were of no use to my particular household of messy kids. I had to purchase this because everything was on backorder. It’s a quiet washer, looks nice with the glass top. The plus side is that you can fit large blankets or bedding.

    Large Capacity

The first one that I received was defective. Best Buy promptly replaced the item. The replacement washer worked as expected with a large load capacity. The auto dispense feature is nice and makes it a breeze to just load and go. The only con would probably be the machine can be easily off- balanced. There is an auto balancing feature that kicks end after thirty seconds of sensing the balancing issue where it drains, refills and tries the spin cycle again. This occurred when trying to wash a few light items that included one towel, where the one wet towel created the off-balancing issue and a loud and obvious dancing of the machine. So given that it is a high load capacity machine, it is not really designed to wash a few simple items at a time. Mindful of that, it is great as a large household washing machine. Further, the WiFi feature is not really useful.

I really like the automatic detergent dispenser. It doing load of laundry quick and easy. This washer does a great job and the capacity is awesome for doing comforters and other large items. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is because the large capacity comes with a trade off. The inside is so deep that when I am doing smaller loads of non-bulky items, it is extremely difficult retrieve them when the cycle finishes. I am 5’7” and have to stand in my toes while leaning into the washer to reach items at the bottom.

So far the machine is good. I like that you can fill the detergent reservoir and it’s good to go for a month. The clothes are clean. I’m 5’6” if you are shorter you may need a step stool to reach the wet clothes at the bottom of the washer. It’s a big deep washer!

    Spin Cycle Failure

I typically don't write reviews but this washer is not my favorite. I constantly have to use drain and spin cycle if my loads are more than 1/2 full of the tub. What is the point of having such a large machine if it doesn't function correctly and spin all the water out of the clothes if you can only fill it half full. Very disappointed to say the least and the other thing just to note, if you are a person of 5'3" or less, you will have a very difficult time reaching the clothes like socks, underwear or anything that lays on the bottom unless you uses a step ladder. No fault of the machine but thought you may want to know.

Our stupid Maytag washer decided to stop working during the Pandemic and Maytag refused to come and fix the problem because my husband works closely with covid patients. So we decided to buy this washer. I must say that so far, it is wondeful. It is huge!!!! My laundry comes out clean and smelling wonderful. There is even a feature where I fill it with extra gallons of water. Which is wondeful for towels, sheets and jeans.

This thing is huge. I have to use a stool to get all the clothes from the bottom. I love that there’s no agitator so you can wash bulky items. I’m haven’t used all the settings and probably won’t. I really didn’t like that most of the presets wash in warm water. But, I really just needed a basic washer. This does the job and it does it well.

So far I really love this washing machine. It is so super quiet that I have checked to see if it was running or not. I am happy with the large fill detergent dispenser. It makes it easy for my boys to just throw their stuff in, chose an setting and it automatically takes care of the rest. With the auto balance system. I haven’t had the house shaking for an off balance load. I haven’t tried a lot of the options. But I feel like when I do I will be happy with the rest.

I’ve had this machine for just about a month now. My weekends are no longer spent doing 15 loads of laundry. It’s now reduced to a max of three loads per week if even that! Clothes are SO clean and smell so good. The auto detergent dispense Is amazing and all the different cycles are super cool! I’ve already washed all of our bedding with no problems! Only thing is I now need to get the matching dryer since mine is too small!

My most favorite washer I’ve owned. We are a total of 7 in our family. I can wash Loya of jeans in one wash and lots of towels in another. Not to mention my king size comforter. I fill laundry detergent to full and forget about it. It’s so simple to use. I’ve had this for a year already. Also you might need a step stool if your short.

Love it, huge capacity, no need to go to laundry mat to wash large comforters. Super efficient, don't need much detergent to get the work done, only drawback is fabric softners don't leave clothes smelling as lovely because the washer is so efficient.

As far as the mechanics of washing goes, it’s 5 stars, but as a short person I do have one issue. It’s TOO deep. I literally have to have a step stool to reach the bottom. For most this might actually be a bonus, but I thought people should be aware.

I love this washing machine, it has to be the easiest washing machine I've ever used. Not having the agitator in the way makes loading and unloading so much easier and it give you much more room for more laundry, and it's very quiet. Having the see-thru lid is nice also.
