Replaced another GE, one year old. The new one came right on, but was very noisy. About to return it, then realized it was the top panel vibrating, not a compressor problem. Added a giant plastic spring clip between the hand hold and the top, excess noise gone! Do not buy a GE dehumidifier without an extended warranty. I doubt it will last more than one or two seasons, reviews everywhere talk about one or two years, my first 70 pint lasted one year. Maybe in years to come they will realize how to make them last longer. Till then, Best Buy extended warranties are you friend for this item!

This thing is awesome! I have it in my finished basement (approx 1200 sqft) and it TOOK CARE OF BUSINESS QUICKLY! It took the musky smell away within the first hour. I couldn't believe how quickly it pulled the water out and into the bucket. I dont have it connected to a hose (probably won't) and it's super easy to lift out with the handle and dump. No spills yet! Just buy it!

The dehumidifier is very efficient, quiet enough, and was reasonably priced.

This really pulls the water out of the air down in my basement. My previous dehumidifier (not this brand) apparently quit. I was wondering how it could run all night & not pull any water out of the air. I was dumping this 3x a day for the first few days. There is the capability of running a hose from the unit to a drain if you prefer. Easy to set up & run & use. It's great.

Great dehumidifier. We don't need to control all our appliances online so this basic dehumidifier provided an affordable and effective way to help dry out water damage in the basement and prevent mold/mildew, as well as get rid of musty odors.

I have only had this for a few months. It seems to work well and is easy to set up and use. I am knocking one star off because the packaging is a bit unclear - half the box says 35 pints and half says 50 pints. The manual says 50 and Best Buy's listing says 50 (and it does seem to hold 50), but still. Minor quibble, but makes you wonder about the quality of the product.

This worked right out of the box. It dropped the humidity in our basement from 75% to 50% over night. It replaced a store brand unit that failed after only 4 months. Our previous GE unit worked well for just under two years--a lifetime for a dehumidifier.

Bought it to use in a walk-out basement room. And about a year after, it still works great! It will suck up all the dampness and make the room feel dry and nice.

The dehumidifier works effectively and very easy to empty the bucket.
