Like a lot of the others, I ordered new and either got a used one or a damaged one. I got curbside pickup, so I did not notice the slight damage on the box. When I opened the box, I noticed the top Styrofoam was broken, and when I pulled the humidifier out, the sides we not aligned. The hose cover was not flush and there was worn plastic where it looks like it was forced closed. One of the inside vents was also out of alignment. When I turned it on I noticed the only button that worked was the power button. I will be taking it back first thing in the morning.

Received USED unit at NEW price. Malfunction also.

Like others, I received used equipment for a NEW purchase except when I purchased mine (NOV of 2022) I didn’t report that it had black buildup all inside of the bucket and filter. Tons of stains inside the bucket and if the water isn’t emptied quick enough (3-4 days sometimes I don’t run it as often) it builds bacteria in the water. My last dehumidifier did not ever do that after years of use. Last month my fan blade started to knock when set to HIGH output mode. Unsure of what to do now because I didn’t first report what I received due to needing it IMMEDIATELY so I had to use it right away and the company I’m sure will say I’m lying. So just beware, they really do give you USED units at NEW price. I do love the unit just wish I wasn’t scammed.

I bought this in April of 2021 and it worked in the Summers of 2021 and 2022. When plugged in during the Summer of 2023, the fan runs for about an hour then shuts down with no water extracted from the air. I've tried the recommended 30 second unplugging to reset but still nothing. GE used to be a quality name...

Mold and Fungus in the tank

I ran the humidifier right out of the box and discovered mold and fungus (had it tested) in the tank when I went to empty it. Looking further into reviews, this is a known issue with this dehumidifier. I plan to return it.

Came broken, and took like 3-5 days to come in. Don’t know why they can’t have any dehumidifiers in stock. I still need to return it. Plus, it seems like the website sells all of the old models of many items without displaying the new ones.

I have been using this dehumidifier in my basement for the past month, to replace an old one I had for probably ten years that had stopped working. The new dehumidifier was easy to set up, it runs more quietly than my old one, and it has been running efficiently; I've been emptying the full collecting container every morning and evening. The container is easy to remove and empty and is not too heavy when full. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for this type of dehumidifier

Super quick and easy set up. Quieter than my old (different brand) dehumidifier, and doesn't put out as much heat as that one did. Nice to have the choice of low/medium/high for the fan. Good design, the water tank is sleekly enclosed, easy to remove for emptying. The target humidity level is easy to set, and the current humidity level is displayed when the unit is on. This dehumidifier is on wheels, so it's easy to roll to a different room (note: the wheels are meant for use on hard floors, not carpets). Very pleased with this unit!

We are extremely pleased with the dehumidifier. It is super quiet on all 3 fan speeds. Easy access to attach hose to drain continuously. Very efficient. Our basement went from 70% to 50% humidity quickly. Hope it lasts a long time!

Works very well, some days I have to empty 3 or more times. I could opt for the hose draining it but I currently don't have a drain in my garage floor. There is the option to use a hose for draining so a plus for those of you who have a floor drain. The unit operates very quietly and there are low, medium and high settings for the fan. My only beef with this unit is that sometimes it blows out really warm air which kind of defeats the purpose of why I got the unit. I got it to reduce the humidity which is supposed to make the room feel cooler. When it blows out the really warm air it stays like 81 degrees in the room but has a humidity level of 38-45. Maybe if it were placed by a wall with the air return vent it might be more bearable. Will have to try that out to see if it makes a difference. This is the first one I've owned so I have a lot to learn on how to make it work best.

    Excellent Dehumidifier for Mid-Sized Room

We're using this in a basement laundry room with normal basement humidity issues. We are setting it to 65% relative humidity ad running automatically. The dehumidifier does warm the room a bit when it runs continuously (when we had it set on 45% RH) but otherwise just fine. INSTALLATION NOTE - make sure not to remove the piece of styrofoam from the float - it looks like a piece of packing material but in fact its needed for the unit to operate correctly. Its spelled out in the instructions, but you might accidentally remove and toss it before you get to the instructions so be forewarned. Operationally the unit works fine, is easy to empty water from when full. Just the right size for our 10x20 laundry room (and maybe larger).

Purchased this to replace the same thing that was about 4 years old. The first one ran frequently to minimize dampness in a finished basement. It is extremely QUIET. Turns off when the water receptacle is full. Can adjust the humidity level and it definitely responds to that. The rollers make it easy to move to different rooms (would not buy one without rollers). No problems with the first one so we replaced it with another. Less expensive at Best Buy so bought it there this time instead of where we bought the first one.

EXCELLENT!! I purchased this GE dehumidifier for my finished basement that gets very damp. Within the first day, this machine extracted a bucket of water. It's quiet, easy to maneuver and has indicators letting you know what's going on with the unit. I am so impressed, I'm considering buying another one for my garage which also gets damp in summer months.

We ordered this dehumidifier online and we received it as estimated at the time of purchase. The price was very reasonable. It was easy to get setup and operate. We connected a hose to the outlet so that we could run it in our basement continuously, draining to a sump. We were easily able to register our new dehumidifier online with GE. It has been running nonstop since we received it and the basement always seems comfortable now. I would definitely consider this dehumidifier again in the future and highly recommend it.

I'm happy with it. The unit is not too loud and it does exactly what you wanted. It pulls the moisture out of your home. We used to have wayyyy too much humidity in the house during winter and this has solved that problem easily. I had originally intended to buy something cheaper but after reading reviews about failures (some resulting in fire) in those cheaper options I decided to try this one and it looks to be of good construction/quality. The air filter built into this is also a nice touch. I think this unit is worth the price.

Easy to follow the set up instructions. Have it draining into a floor drain. Very quiet and efficient, warm air blows from top because all dehumidifiers use basically a refrigerator coil that condenses the moisture in the basement area. Fan does not run continuously, only when the unit detects that it needs to remove some humidity from the air. Replaced a dehumidifier that had lasted 8 years, so it was time.

This dehumidifier is pretty quiet on all but the highest of 3 fan setting. I found that medium fan speed keeps the discharged air cooler than lowest fan setting and pulls more moisture out of air. The dumping of water bucket is easy and has nice side handles to remove and a real carry handle once removed inside bucket. Goes back into unit quickly and easily. I couldn't use the hose setup as my location I put dehumidifier wouldn't allow good hose placement. But hose attachment is very easy. I use humidity setting of 40% humidity. Anything higher just doesn't seem to help air conditing much. Directions say to run unit on non stop/continuous setting for 1st 24 hours to remove the most moisture from home. You will pull a couple gallons in 24hrs. Unit does shut off on its own and kicks back on when needed once humidity setting is reached again. So far I am very pleased with this GE unit. Makes house AC seem much cooler on same temp setting by reducing the humidity level. I recommend.

It works GREAT. We needed this in an emergency situation. We bought it to help bring down the humidity in an unoccupied (due to Covid) meeting hall. The humidity had reached over 85% and we needed to bring that down in a hurry. With this unit, along with some adjustments to the building's A.C. system we were able to get the humidity down to 50% and maintain it there, even through these warm and humid summer months. We thus averted a costly remediation process.
