It was super quiet for the first week and a half. Since then it's developed a high pitch compressor noise. Honestly it's driving me and my family nuts. Our last dehumidifier did not make a high pitch noise like this. Not sure if I can do anything to eliminate or reduce it.

Great for the basement

It is doing a great job! It is more quiet than the 20 year old dehumidifier that I replaced. It looks "smart" as it does its job. The illumination of the push button control panel across the top is helpful and can be easily adjusted. The flashing of the "empty" button is easily seen to indicate it should be emptied. (There is an option to use a hose for the "continuous" empty method.) Overall, I am happy with this product and I feel it was a good value.

Unfortunately our first one kept running and caused the bucket to overflow multiple times. We had to exchange it for a new one which seems to be cutting off when it’s supposed to.
