I tightened the screws for the plastic housing and it helped for about an hour, then back to normal. Applying pressure to the top seems to help. It isn't the condenser making noise or fan, it just seems to be shoddy build and poor fit with the plastic panels. I imagine I'll either tear it apart to find a solution...or give it back to Best Buy.

It resolved our recurrent mold problem (after my husband used bleach on the mold already present). The 50-pint capacity was perfect for a daily habit of dumping it down the drain… My husband and I were SO impressed with every aspect of this dehumidifier.

It does in fact work very fast to pull the moisture out of the air and it is actually quite scary how much it can collect! However, this unit is a double edged sword because it blows hot air out of it, which increases the temperature in the room you are using it in. We choose to use it in our open downstairs and it definitely makes it much warmer in that space. We definitely recommend this unit for removing the water out of the air however we do also recommend purchasing an additional and very inexpensive temperature gauge to monitor the temperature increase you know when it is ok to shut this unit off for a bit. It will definitely make a HUGE improvement in a Florida environment!

My old dehumidifier would run and run but rarely fill the water container. This unit needs to be emptied almost every day. I have it in my finished basement and the musty odor is gone. I like that I can set the humidity level.
