It's much louder than another brand that we currently have. It also creates a lot more heat. I ended up getting another insignia brand dehumidifier and am happier with that one.

Used inside in a finished area and maintained as required. Called GE Appliance warranty department as you cannot schedule repair for dehumidifiers on their website even after registering it. Turns out they don't handle the warranty and repair of their dehumidifiers and gave me a separate number to call. That number leads to an automated system where no one answers. Left 3 messages and have had no call back. This is terrible support from a brand like GE. Fortunately i bought geek squad and have an appointment soon. Hoping Best Buy makes this right. I would avoid buying just due to GEs lack of ownership. Other reviews also stated units dying within a year. Probably why GE outsourced the warranty and repair. Shame on them.
