Great product for dehumidifying my basement space.

Bought this for my basement man cave. Though it dehumidifies well and built in pump is a great feature, my basement became a sauna. The heat was intolerable. Also louder than my old dehumidifier.

I bought this in May of last year and it stopped dehumidifying this October. The fan runs, but no longer collecting water and lowering the humidity. I followed the recommendations on here and bought the protection plan. The cost is now more than I paid for it so Best Buy would only give me a gift card for the value I oaid instead of replacing it. I dont get refunded the cost of the protection plan either. So I thought I was guaranteeing I had a dehumidifier for at least 4 years, but basically I paid $65 (cost of protection plan) to rent this dehumidifier for a little over a year. It was a good dehumidifier when it worked, but since like many reviews it didnt last even 2 years i can’t recommend.

Could use a bigger basin to catch water. Had same brand before. Lucky to get 3 years out if it. The internal metal gets rusty

The humidifier works well but it is much louder than what we expected - the old one we had was not nearly this loud. Not sure why. But that said, it is in the basement and it does the job

I didn't get two years out of this dehumidifier. Still runs but once it shuts off it doesn't restart unless I unplug and then plug it back in. Guessing it's the humistat but can't find parts from GE. Go to their site and when I plug in the model # it brings up a lawn mower. Just ordered a hOmelabs dehumidifier based on a Consumer Reports rating. Hope I do better with that one.

It practically turns into a space heater when used throughout the day, I’d recommend something that isn’t built by GE. When not using my AC, it brings the room temperature up to 10-15 degrees hotter than outside. I’d love to not have to pay this much money to also cool down my house after the dehumidifier operates at a temperature higher than GPU mining crypto

Easy to set up. Simple to operate. I use with a hose so rarely have to check on it.

I would send it back if it was in any living area. But it is in the basement and I do not go down there very often.

Time will tell. It looks like I was sent a refurb unit since there was mold in the bucket when i got it.. But it seems to work OK. Kind of loud though

Dod not last 4 months and GE warranty support is terrible.

Set up for about a week. Rattled when turned on. Had to wrap the body with a bungee cord to quiet it down.

Removes a lot of water & quickly. So I appreciate that part. However, the whole thing is made of flimsy plastic that vibrates & rattles when the compressor is running - it gets annoyingly loud & rattly.

Very noisy work but can hear it upstairs when it’s in the basement wish I could return it for another so noisy

This product should not be for sale. It completely stops being functional and constantly turns itself off after less than two years of infrequent use. It won't even run for 10 minutes now. I purchased about two years ago and do not recommend any GE dehumidifier. Less than two years old and it doesn't work anymore. It will run for about an hour, and then stop. I've got the humidity set to to 50%, it reads that it's at 65% (so it should stay on). If I unplug it and plug it back in, it turns back on and runs for an hour. I did this repeatedly to get around four hours of runtime... and the bucket was empty. I've cleaned the filter and followed all troubleshooting instructions. No luck. What sucks is that I need a new one to replace it ASAP... and the only one available is the same model :-(
