    Worked great for about 15 months, now it doesnt do a thing. It won't kick on uless you force it to and then it doesnt remove any moisture. Seems like a combination of freon loss and a control board issue. Of course the warranty is 12 months so im off to buy another one,but definitely not a GE.

    Broken & Moldy

    I saw many reviews about people getting moldy and broken machines, and thought to myself, "I'm ordering this as brand new, what could go wrong?" and then it happened. Received a used, broken, moldy product. There was mold all over the bottom of the water tank, and the plug that goes into the wall was completely destroyed. All 3 prongs were almost detached from the plug itself. I did not purchase an open box one, this was supposed to be brand new. Would recommend staying away from this specific model when ordering online as you will most likely get the same.

    Dehumidifier runs non-stop and has yet to automatically shut off. Tried contacting GE and 4 weeks later they sent an e-mail asking if "did I mean the unit would not shut off". Said, yes, that was the problem. That was approximately two weeks ago and I've heard nothing further. This replaced a Frigidaire dehumidifier that was the best I have ever owned. Unfortunately, the GE unit was the only one available.

    This product was terrible. I used it for a month and it was working great then it suddenly stopped collecting water. I called GE to troubleshoot and tried a million things, including powering it on and off, checking the air filter, resetting the circuit breaker, moving it to a different room, nothing worked. I tried to return it back to Best Buy but they told me because I purchased it more than 30 days ago it was non-refundable. Way to stand by your products Best Buy. I will never buy a GE appliance again.

    Nice looking unit, quiet, nice controls- but it immediately leaked all over the floor.

      We are sorry for what happened to you with this dehumidifier. You can check and make sure the bucket is seated properly. If draining any water collect to floor then make sure drain hose is secured properly. Do not hook drain hose to dehumidifier if wanting it to drain into bucket.     Last 13 months just enough to be out of warranty

    Lasted 13 months before that worked well. Just like all units they just last 1 to 1.5 years and die.

    Machine only lasted 6 weeks before breaking, would power up and run fan for 20 mins not drawing any moisture out of the air then sit with display lights on doing nothing, with other reviews commenting about failures and poor reliability, despite being easy enough to set up and use you would expect more of a GE product. Would appear that it has been made rather too cheaply in China. Fortunately BB returns process made it easy (was still in the return to store window when it broke) will probably replace with equivalent LG model

    7 Months of Use And Doesn't Draw Moisture

    Purchased June of 2021. Used for a total of 7 months, and the condenser is no longer functioning. Unit does not draw moisture. Would not recommend, especially at the 30% higher price today versus 2 years ago.

    Lasted 11 months so at least the warranty was still in place. GE is not the easiest company to work with so it would be better to find a more reliable machine.

    The dehumidifier stopped working after having it for only a year. It bo longer fills up with water the fan jsut runs.

We are seeing that this dehumidifier is a "Return to Vendor" model as parts for it are extremely limited.     horrible product. worked great for 7 months then suddenly the compressor failed. I had the same type GE product in the past and it held up for about 5 years but it failed in the same way, compressor stopped working

    Didn't even last for 2 years. The motor/fan is running but is not collecting water. Called the rep and he said unfortunately it's out of warranty and suggested me to buy a new one instead of getting it fixed since it will probably cheaper that way.

    Died after a 18 months. Same issue as another review - the fan runs for about an hour, then shuts off with no water extracted from the air.

    GE 50 Pint Made for a year of use

    I bought in September of 2020 and sure enough, condenser stopped working late 2021! Just over a year of use! My old Kenmore lasted 12 years, and went through a flood on year 6!
