Easy to use and water bucket prevents spillage better than our old unit. Really appreciated low price at Best Buy. Beat local competitors by $40.

I had a whirlpool the quit working after two years it never done a job in my basement like this. When I asked, I would recommend this one to anybody will actually be my best friend had water leak in his basement and he ordered one and he loves it as well.

Works Good ... But Noisy

This unit is a workhorse and pulls humidity out of the air. Live in a very humid environment and felt a difference during the first day. Unit has a 'buzz', similar to being outside next to a window AC unit. It either got louder or we grew less tolerant and ultimately decided it was too loud for our large living area. Reluctantly, returned it and bought the LG equivalent. LG is very good at reducing humidity as well but only sounds like a loud fan on the high setting. Overall, would use GE in a basement or garage, but not living area.

When I set it to 65% the room humidity drops to below 45% and the machine is still running. If you are running this machine without an external humidity meter, you may be wasting electricity. BYT: I have two humidity meters and they closely agree. I have had the machine for less that two weeks. Normally, I would wait a couple months before writing a review, but this is a problem that many people might not catch and it is costing them money. Otherwise the machine seems OK--about average.
