What you’re experiencing isn’t a defect—these units need to be tilted slightly toward the outside so that any water buildup can drain out the back rather than the front. When it rains it fills up with water and the water gets i to the "water-tight" electronics enclosure, when it shoots water out of the air vent. The drain hole is on the back, yes the back and not underneath. There are vent holes on the top, outside. I duct taped this second one. Guess what? It still filled up with water when it rained. The speaker already stopped working on this. BestBuy will not honor any kind of warranty. I bought the extended warranty for this one. I will see how or If they honor it, WHEN THIS ONE DIES. they sent me to GE, and GE sent me back to them. What a waste! Buyer beware. I had to buy it for my dog during the end of summer, otherwise id have gone without.

Posted .We're sorry to hear about water getting into your room, we want to help. Water leaking into a room is caused by the filter needing to be cleaned or improper installation. Take a look at page 7 in the Use and Care manual, this can be found in the Features tab on the Best Buy product page, for cleaning information. Also, ensure that your unit is level or tilted slightly to the outside, about 1/4". Info about leveling/tilting the unit to the outside can be found on page 11 of the same manual. We do not recommend you tape up the vents on the exterior of the unit as this will impead operation. An article on our GE Appliances website titled "Air Conditioner - Air Vents" talks more about the exterior vents, their purpose, and how our air conditioners are tested for weather. If you continue to have issues, please send us a private message via Facebook, Instagram, X, or TikTok with your contact information, complete model/serial numbers, and a copy of this review so we can review further.

It ventilated and cooled well, but the fan motor produced a horrible high-pitched whine at all fan speeds. Impossible to sleep or even hear the television. We returned it to the store immediately.

Posted .If the air is only coming from the right even when you have adjusted the direction of the louver to the left, we recommend reviewing page 17 of the online Owner's Manual to view the details of your warranty coverage. The manual can be found by clicking on the Features tab and scrolling to the bottom of the Features list.
