Bought this Labor Day weekend. I wasn't able to install it myself until the time to return from Best Buy had elasped to the shipping time not being the same as day of purchase. It sounds like crickets are inside the case, but I think it is possibly the fan on the inside which sounds like a belt or pulley is worn out. If the fan belt on my car sounded like this, I would immediately pull over. Condenser is good, but AC will always have cricket sounds until I replace this brand new air conditioner which was costly with something better. Going to see if it's too late to get an extended warranty from GE or maybe Best Buy. Send earmuffs!

I bought this widow unit fo 400 dollars
It was needed at the time but soon realized that the quality was cheap and it wasn't cooling the room it was in .We try to return the ac after a week and BB refused.

For proper disposal, make sure the air conditioner slants slightly from the case front to the rear. Purchased in July of 2024 was out by September 9th! Just started beeping, shut off and would not turn back on! Could not return to best buy so had to deal with GE customer service and they are NOT easy to deal with process was very confusing! You can get a goodwill certificate or exchange with a number, which you need to wait days to get! Living in HOT Florida how can anyone survive a week without air while they "approve" your exchange/ certificate! Which means you spend your own money and get reimbursed...which some people cannot afford to do ! I spoke with 2 different companies and was told the one on here ( best buy gives you) is not affiliated with the warranty department! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING GE!

I bought this unit about a month ago and it’s already stopped working. It was functioning well and maintained properly. Last night it made a weird grinding noise and has since stopped producing cold air. The features and app were easy to use but I am unsatisfied.

This is my 2nd time writing a review. This unit is TERRIBLE. DO NOT buy. Not onpy did it completely break down after 18 days of having it but Best Buy will not help replace or fix it even with a protection plan. GE won't fix it either and offers you a good faith rebate should you purchase another one. This was our 2nd one in less than 2 months from GE after they urged us to try another mode by offering the rebate that never happened should we buy another HE. The first unit released poison gas and this one just stopped working after 18 days and no one wants to repair and or replace it so we're out over $700 on useless units at the hottest time of year with kids who needed this. Shame on GE and Bestbuy for selling this garbage and ripping people off.

This AC always fills with water and leaks. The whole is so small and the water does not drain. I have to clean the filter every other day to keep it from freezing. I never had so many problems with an AC. Would not recommend

Thank you for leaving a review about your air conditioner. We recommend that you make sure that the air conditioner is tilted slightly towards the back so it will not leak. First one died on 12 days! I had to purchase a new one to have that one installed while I waited for them to pick up the other one. That took almost 6 weeks!
I'll let you know about the second one in a few months.
