Takes too long to dry

It is a nice size dryer. Big enough for a queen/king size comforter. I really wanted to like it, but not very efficient. Installation and haul away went very smoothly. Best buy customer service reps were nice and helpful.

Posted .Hi there, we're pleased to know you had a smooth installation and that your Best Buy customer service representatives were nice, but sorry your clothes are taking longer than expected to dry. When clothes are taking a long time to dry or do not seem to be drying, the below troubleshooting tips can correct the problem: 1) Using the proper venting material and making sure the vent ductwork is the proper length is very important to the operation of a dryer. GE Appliances recommends the use of a solid metal vent pipe 4" in diameter for adequate operation. 4" diameter flexible metal venting may be used but will increase the drying time. GE Appliances does not recommend the use of flexible, white, plastic vent pipe. This type of vent pipe can collapse and restrict the airflow, causing lint to build up inside the dryer. 2) Remove and clean the lint filter each time it is used. The filter can be washed with warm soapy water to remove fabric softener residue from the screen. 3) Check the household fuse or circuit breaker that supplies power to the dryer. Make sure they are not burned out or tripped. 4) There may be too many items in the dryer. Only dry one wash load at a time. Do not combine wash loads to make one large dryer load. There may be too few items in the dryer. 5) Improper sorting can cause drying difficulty. Do not mix heavy, hard-to-dry items with lightweight items. If the problem persists, we recommend scheduling service with a certified GE Appliances technician that will be able to accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can do so by calling GE Appliance Service at 1-800-GECares (1-800-432-2737). We hope this is useful and we're wishing you the very best. - Guy@GEA

The 10 year old dryer it replaced would completely dry clothes in 45 minutes on the medium setting. This dryer takes WELL OVER 80 MINUTES on high. Also, the lint trap seems miss a lot of lint. Maybe Best Buy didn't set it up correctly, but I'm definitely regretting that I'm out of the return window.

I doubt that this one will last that long. But it does have a light in it, and the lint trap is very nice. After three months we have yet to try all of the settings.

My daughter &son in law bought a house and I gifted them a washer &dryer. Easy to purchase online set up delivery for 3 days later then delivered and installed. Perfect and she loves her new washer & dryer.
