It may have been a perfectly good pedestal but it didn't meet our needs. No drawer and to low. We were hoping they could use our 13' old generic base with drawer but they don't connect the same anymore. Larger one was out of stock and was hoping that this may keep the misses happy, nope. Ended up purchasing larger GE one with drawer.

The reason for this is the Heat Exchanger residing in the top of the machine. The door still opens at a normal WM height. This Riser will raise it 7" additional inches which makes the unit more user friendly as far as reaching in to extract your laundry. A taller pedestal with the drawer would raise the machine too high and pose a tipping hazard. This riser is just right.

The item itself was as expected and is now one of two GE pedestal options (7” and 16”). GE no longer makes the 13” drawer-in pedestal which is what we had before (and worked well with our utility room cabinet height) we had to replace our 2010/11 era GE front-load washing machine w/ a new GE. Pedestal was easy to install with some basic tools, but it will require laying the washing machine gently on its back and I’d recommend two persons to perform this job.

When the washer was delivered I opened up the pedestal box (which looked just fine) it was missing and brackets, screws, bolts, paperwork and even was missing some of the foam securing the pedestal. This meant they could not mount it. Unfortunately, I decided to just do the washer/dryer on the ground. That was my bad, but the washer was unboxed and on the front porch.
