Nice look, missing features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was attracted to the minimalist look of this toaster by GE. Sadly, it missed the mark in a lot of areas. First, when you turn it on, you immediately see that there's no interior lighting, a big omission. Not only this, but a small door window giving you some real issues checking if your food is cooking properly. It takes a long time to pre-heat given it's size; it took 11 minutes to preheat to 420F counting down the set time so you have to add the original time once preheated. As an air fryer and a toaster, it works well. All the other features have the preheat issue. After every cycle, the fan goes on and cooling is displayed for about a minute. The knobs and screen layout is easy and intuitive. The curved stainless front panels give it an elegant look. Sadly, there's not much more I can say that's good about it. Skip over this when doing a search, better stuff out there.

Pretty Cool
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GE Convection Toaster oven with Air Fry is a handy kitchen small appliance. It is very large for an air fry device, but it also serves other functions. As a convection toaster oven, it has enough room to cook a small pizza. You can also use it to toast bread or bagels without having to heat a large oven. You can use it bake any number of items. And, of course, you can use it as an air fryer to make healthier foods without the grease or oil. The glass viewport is clear enough to be able to see inside, although - as is typical for this type of device - there are no interior lights. Operation is simple. A digital screen displays the current settings. You change the settings with two large dials. It includes a sliding shelf and a removable basket. Both make cooking certain items a lot easier. It has pull-out crumb tray, which also simplifies cleanup. Over Thanksgiving, it came in super handy as an additional warming oven for side dishes. My wife and I were a little skeptical prior to receiving this oven, but we've become converts. It's an excellent multi-purpose kitchen tool. As I mentioned earlier, it's not small. So please pay attention to the stated dimensions. GE recommends 8 inches of clearance above the oven when in use, but that appears to be overkill.

Sleek and versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love that this combo oven takes the place of at least two other appliances: toaster oven and air fryer. Plus, I also love that it can be used in place of my oven, especially in warmer weather. It maybe smaller than my oven but that also means it heats up faster but doesn’t heat up the house. In the California heat, that’s a huge bonus. It’s definitely a big “small” appliance and takes up some counter space. After all, it says right on the box it can hold up to a 12” pizza. To me that’s a plus though. I don’t have the biggest kitchen, but I put it in a corner and it’s a nice looking appliance that I don’t mind being there. Plus, there’s no breaking out the separate air fryer. My favorite thing to do is air fry my veggies (favorites are broccoli and asparagus). I toss them in the fryer basket/tray with some cooking spray, salt, and pepper (sometimes add some minced garlic) and they’re ready to go in 10 minutes tops. The one thing that I found kind of irritating is the lack of an interior light. That I don’t get and find that I do miss that. That being said, still a super versatile appliance that looks very sleek.

Very stylish and lots of cooking options...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Right out of the box this GE oven was very stylish on the countertop… be sure you have room as this is a full function, “medium large” countertop appliance. I’m not sure how much further an appliance can go, but this one has essentially replaced our standard kitchen oven for everything but large pizzas and the thanksgiving turkey! We have moved from the “old fashioned” toaster oven, to a medium capacity air fryer, and finally to this nice device that seems to have everything going for it to handle most cooking duties for a family of three. Everything up to a full-sized pie will fit in the oven, with enough “head room” for a medium-to-large chicken. The air fryer function has more room, and cooks more quickly than our dedicated air fryer. Going to the convection oven function, it heats up and cooks quickly even with several different items. Be aware that you will need some clearance around the top, sides, and back to allow proper air circulation and cooling, and I would not suggest putting anything on top of the oven, at least while it is in use. The top does get quite warm – not enough to burn you but certainly enough to heat up whatever is sitting on top well above room temperature. I would say it makes sense anyway not to put a loaf of bread of basket of fruit on top of a countertop oven, but the surface is fairly large and is tempting to use as “counter space” to get back some area from where the oven is sitting. At first, I thought our microwave would still get a lot of use for a “quick heat” of leftovers, but the controls on the GE are so simple to read and set, and food heats up so quickly, that the “gummy” texture that the microwave imparts to leftovers is no longer an issue as the GE oven can provide much more appealing food and it is very quick to heat up so re-heating only takes a few minutes longer than nuking your plate. Speaking of the controls, they are really very simple to read and interpret, and it seems every day we are getting more ways to make use of the digital system. We just realized that we could use the convection or air-fry function, and then add a “keep warm” at the end – this is very nice as it allows you to go ahead and get things cooked and ready to serve, and then back off on the heat and keep the food warm enough to serve when you are ready >> instead of being at the mercy of the “ding” on the oven timer. The controls also have some pretty accurate “suggested cooking times and temperatures” that will display if you choose – these have turned out to handy and even if you want to make some adjustments, it gives you a pretty good place to start. Overall, the cooking focus has been able to shift to heating up the kitchen with the traditional oven to using the GE countertop for many items. The appearance of the GE is a very nice stainless-steel finish, and it looks attractive a modern on the countertop. Overall, this is a very versatile countertop convection/air-fry/warming appliance, and as long as you spend a little time going over the manual and learning to get the most use out of the controls, you should find yourself learning new ways to save cooking time, and trying out new, quicker, and more convenient ways to prepare food.

works great and versatile
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was eager to see how this would perform -- it combines a toaster oven, convection oven, and air fryer all in one device, so it saves a whole lot of valuable counter space. I've compromised with toaster ovens for years because they are more useful than bread slice toasters, but the ones I've tried weren't really awesome at toasting bread or bagels, but it's always been handy to have something other than a microwave to heat up left-overs or to cook treats. First off, this toaster oven does indeed make great toast! The highest setting is actually too toasted for my wife, so I take that as a win. The toasting is quick, thorough, and hits both sides. Works great on bagels, too. I've used it in convection mode for heating up leftovers. Important safety tip! It's way too hot in there for plastic dishes. Should be obvious, but I learned quickly! (Good thing I was watching just in case). Leftovers get heated up nicely, not soggy, and as you get used to it, you get a feel for temperature and timing. Air frying is the big bonus here. It's very different from my old air fryer, and it works way better. It cooks in 1/3 the time of my other one. So far I've tried it on potatoes and bacon, and I made quesadillas, and it's worked very well. It's also easy to clean with broad flat surfaces inside. One minor annoyance -- why in the world does it come with a not non-stick cooking tray? The first time I used the cooking tray, I had to scrub off a sticky mess. I'm going to keep my eyes open for a non-stick tray to fit. So -- other than the cooking tray, this oven is awesome.

The swiss army knife of toasters
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GE digital air fry 8 in 1 toaster oven is a jack of all trades. Some multifunction toasters do a great job at all the other functions but lack in the most basic function of toasting. GE did a great job in designing this toaster as the rapid heating quarts element does a great job at getting the oven up to the proper operating temp fast. The oven has 7 functions in addition to the air fry function. The controls are not complicated at all so cycling through all the functions is a breeze and the display is clear and easy to read The design of the oven is aesthetically pleasing and you can easily place this in any kitchen with high end stainless steel appliances. It includes 1 oven rack, a baking tray and a stainless steel air fryer basket. The stainless steel air fryer basket makes a great difference in air fryer performance. I was able to make the best crispy fresh french fries in this oven as compared to air fryers with non stick baskets. The capacity of the oven is quite larger so you will not have any issues heating up a 12 inch pizza in here. I also love that the toaster oven has a bulit in auto cool down function after the cook cycle is complete. The only issue that some people may run into is that since this oven does have such a large capacity people with limited counter space may find it too big. I would highly recommend this 8 in 1 air fry toaster oven to anyone who is in the market for such an appliance. As long as you can fit it in this oven you wont have any need to turn on you regular oven anymore.

Good multipurpose device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Should start by saying I use GE appliances frequently They perform as advertised and last longer than other brands I have tried. This oven is no exception. It's just my wife and myself so we were looking for something to replace multiple appliances. This oven fits that need nicely and performs as advertised. From toasting to air fryer to convection, everything works well. It is as quick at toasting several slices of bread as out toaster, the air fryer is comparable to our dedicated air fryer and has a great feature to keep food warm when cooking is finished. Size makes it perfect for just the two of us but can handle food for 4 easily. As one might expect from a multipurpose appliance there is some programming involved to start cooking. One complaint is if you decide to change a setting you have to start over and program the use (air fryer, convection, etc) which frankly is a bit of a pain. There is no off function so when you are finished you have to wait a few minutes for the unit to power off. No clock (not a big deal) and the timer is fixed to the function and does not work without the oven doing something. Other than these minor problems it is a good product that does a good job in every function and will enable one to eliminate other appliances. Especially nice if you have a small kitchen.

Great small appliance
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having both an air fryer and toaster oven, getting a new one that does more than just one thing was a no-brainer. Its very easy to use as well as clean. Its nice having an appliance with so many functions. My only complaint is the size. This thing is huge, however its easy to look past that since its an all in one appliance.

Excited
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am so loving my new GE toaster oven & air fryer! It does come with baking tray, air fryer basket, wire rack & a pull out crumb tray. Has a large easy to read digital screen, large easy knobs for settings. You can broil, bake, air fryer, toast, roast & just keep food warm! It cuts regular oven cooking times in half if something calls for 20mins in a regular oven it will be done in 10 mins, cooked perfectly, you will have to mess with it a little like anything to figure it out, like making toast I had to put on higher setting to toast bread to my liking, I was able to fit a while small pizza in it I cooked a little longer cause I wanted it to have a crisper crust came out perfect, vegan tater tots, roasted veggies, homemade French fries, cookies all came out perfectly. 450 is the highest setting but is perfect for most things, it is big & takes up more space had to rearrange counter top & it does get hot unlike my smaller air fryer but no biggie just don’t touch the top or leave anything on it. Haven’t tried the broil setting yet but so far ever setting has been awesome. Simple to use cleaning is not the best but not that big of a deal. Love not having to deep fry anything which I’ve always tried to avoid by putting in the oven, but no more waiting 30-60 mins for food to be ready. I took it to my sisters house to try out different foods & she loved it, her & my cousin went & bought one!

A great product from GE
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this product so much that my microwave is becoming jealous of it. I have a “pot” style air fryer as well as this. Some key differences, this makes toast, and makes it painless to do so. It can fit and cook a store-bought pizza as well as a traditional kitchen oven can. The controls are very intuitive with one knob to change between modes (on the left) and another knob to toggle between temperature and time settings (it rotates and acts like a selector by pushing in on it). The LCD display has a plethora of information and time can be set up to hours, depending on the cooking mode used. So far, I have cooked: Tater tots, French fries, cheese sticks, a 12” pizza and have made toast with it. The build quality is professional, with entirely stainless-steel surfaces, the timer is extremely precise, as well as the temperature (up to 450 degrees). I’m not much of a cook, but I’m having a lot of fun finding new things to cook with it. Downsides: It gets hot but is managed by a cooling fan that typically runs at the end of a cooking cycle. It needs about 4” of clearance on all 4 sides, so if you don’t have much countertop space, you might want to look at something smaller. This has gracefully handled any food I have thrown at it, with great results.

Gets too hot outside of the oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It gets extremely hot on the exterior. Not so much to cause a burn but a simple touch can be felt which I would completely advise against small or any children being able to access especially unintentional touching. No light which makes seeing the food or cleaning a little inconvenient. The preheating takes a about 10 min and if you accidentally turn off your set cooking time and temp, you will have to start over with setting everything and even a small preheat time. Overall it looks good, works great, good quality pans & basket. It's not too loud but has it's things that makes me cautious. Also to add there's no auto shut off when the door is open.

I get no pleasue in giving one star ! But ---
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gave GE one star because the poor temperature control, and because the selection of heat and time , is very confusing, I tested it on Bake at 375 it reached that temperature , and then cut off - as I watched the thermometer decrease, you want to buy a home county product "made in Canada but you would expect much better design in temp control - most disappointed in performance

Posted .Hi there, and thanks for reaching out to us about your experience with this toaster oven. We truly hate to hear you’ve had concerns over the temperature control, as well as confusion over the heat and time selection; we know this may have been worrying, and would like to help. The Use and Care manual does feature information on operating the toaster oven, and includes a section specifically on the selection knobs on page 6. Hopefully that will help clear up any confusion over the controls. We can advise it is normal for the heating tubes to turn on and off throughout the cooking process, to properly control the temperature. The tube turning off is not normally indicative of any malfunction. However, if you think the toaster oven isn’t functioning as designed and wish to take advantage of the limited warranty covering the appliance, details on that are listed on page 11 of the manual. (The manual can be viewed on our GE website by looking up the model number.) We hope this information helps clarify the matter, and we're always happy to assist if you have any other concerns or questions. -Sarah@GEA
