    Hook up was easy, works great. Read reviews before buying, there were no bad reviews. If you want to hook up to Wi-Fi, make sure you have a good Wi-Fi.

    As smart thermostats go, this one does well enough, but requires learning some of its quirks. I chose this one mainly because I also have Cync lights and a Savant system in the house, so I wanted to keep with the ecosystem, but that not being a factor I'd have probably chosen something else. Some of the quirks include that you can't set a specific "heat" and "cool" temperature, you have to choose a range for heat and cool to kick on (ex. a 4 degree range between 69 and 73, but if you drop the cool to 72, the heat will drop to 68). I imagine this is done to prevent the range from being too tight to prevent AC/heating from kick on back and forth, but there's better ways to implement that prevention. It also has a 1 degree "buffer" that can't be turned off, so if you're set to cool at 73 but the temperature is reading 74, the AC won't actually kick on until 75. This is probably my biggest complaint as it makes the AC work harder trying to get it back down 2 degrees vs 1, makes the house hotter than I actually want, and if I want to manually kick the AC on I have to turn it down lower than I actually want. The scheduling in the Cync app is also frustratingly confusion in how to set. I eventually got it, but again, just needlessly poor UX design.

    This was the second CYNC Thermostat we purchased so that both zones can now be programmed remotely. This thermostat is easy to install and set up. The GE help desk personnel are very helpful.
