Overall I've been fairly impressed with this electric kettle. It works as expected and is fairly quick to heat up. Much faster than using the stove top to boil water. The overall design is nice and sturdy and the pot is nicely insulated so even if you don't have it set to "warm" it stays warm for a while. It's also quick to re-heat if you don't leave the kettle on the warm setting. If I had one complaint about it it would be that even though it has a digital selector for temperature you can't set the value by individual digits. Instead there are a set of preset temperatures that the kettle scrolls through when you press the plus and minus buttons. There are a reasonable amount of presets but it would be nice to have more granularity. Otherwise it does what it needs to do, it heats up water and keeps it warm even after you take it off the base.

This is a nice little electric, digital kettle. Nice looking and nice operating. The min and max fill levels are in the inside (you cannot see the level from the outside). You fill it then set it on its heating base. Then plug in the heating base. The heating base has a cord that you can wrap around the inner bottom one time. The cover has a push button thing in the center. When pushed all the way down, it locks in the lid. CON: when you push it, it should pop up all the way, but it only pops up halfway, so you have to pull it up the rest of the way in order to remove the lid. The digital buttons and temperature LCD are on the outer handle, which is a square/rectangle shape (not round). The buttons are also square and offer temp up, temp down, warm, and power on/off. You set the temp (there are about 9 presets from 140 degrees to 212 degrees; you cannot just set it at your own degrees). Then you push power. I tested it with the highest temp setting (212). It didn't take long to start making noises (boiling). It took 2 min and 25 sec to reach the lowest setting (140). And 4 min 56 sec to reach my max setting (212). CON: At some point the noise got louder (the boiling) and the vibration was pretty intense (particularly because I did not expect it to be that loud and have that much vibration or none at all). It was vibrating my knife block (which was about 3 inches away from it) and causing the knives to make vibration noise. For the majority of the boiling, I touched the outer part of the kettle, it stayed all the way cool. But then suddenly (literally, suddenly) maybe with the last 20 or 30 seconds the outside heated up! Not scorching. you could touch it and not get burned. But definitely hot and not cool. The handle stays cool though. It cuts off when it reaches it's set temp. It has an interesting wide and grated spout for clean pouring I guess. 1 star off for my CONS. It's a good electric digital kettle. I would recommend it. Peace.

Fairly simple appliance but it does its job well. Plugging in the base and then setting the kettle on top starts it up, the temperature gauge blinks at the default 212 degrees and waits for you to tell it heat up. Heating up to 212 is fairly quick and took about 3.5 minutes. The system then shuts off so you'll definitely want to be nearby to hear the finishing beeps unless you want to heat your water again. To get around this, there is a warm button that will continue to reheat the water with the added benefit of having a boil away feature that will detect when the water level gets too low and shut off. Overall this is much more convenient for tea (temperature control), quick use for water (ramen and such), and for places that you just can't have a flame (dorm rooms or small spaces.) It definitely has earned a place on my counter. Minor items of note: The lid release mechanism is a little finicky (think the push button plastic containers for your pantry) and when you set the kettle back on the base when you're done, it'll blink on to see if you want to start it up, but the display will shut off after a couple seconds if there's no input.

For all the hot tea lovers out there, this one is for you! What an amazing kettle. Heats up amazingly quick, is a breeze to use and keeps the water warm while the outside stays cool to the touch. I'm so excited to have this, I use it every day. I really appreciate the simplicity of this appliance. It a great addition to my kitchen and I highly recommend it. The push button top is a nice feature and the buttons on the handle are easy to push and use.

I bought this kettle on March 2021. Even if I didn't use it often, it broke down after only 4 months. It's not heating at all. Since I didn't apply for Best Buy protection plan there is no warranty. Know I 'm trying to get service from GE. I made phone calls, customer service promised me to call back to solve this issue. Nobody has called me back. Very poor customer service. I suggest don't waste your money for this product.

We are big tea drinkers in my household. Ninety-nine percent of the time we microwaved a cup of water. We had used a kettle on the stove for a brief time, but found that it took a while to get the water to boil on an electric stovetop. This electric kettle has been a hit! I didn't realize on most tea packets, it actually tells you what temperature to steep the tea bag in. With this kettle, you have a digital reading that you can adjust to the correct temperature and within less than a minute, the water is ready. It is so nice. We use ours everyday. It is a bit loud but no louder than using a stovetop kettle. The only complaint I have really is that the instructions are a bit vague. It would be nice if they could send out a more detailed description of first time setup and different controls. But we've obviously figured it out. All in all, this is a great product.

It works but the only two options (temperature settings and keep water hot) are very difficult to program. This is not for a public space where people have to turn the machine on without reading the manual. It just doesn't make sense

I have yet to find a good electric kettle. I thought it was going to be this one but it stopped working / heating up after only 10 months. Very disappointing after paying so much for it

We've had a few versions of hot water appliances. Our most recent was a high-end Japanese water heater. It took up a lot of space and you had to take your cup to the appliance. The GE kettle allows you to take the kettle to your cup or container. The design of this kettle is simple and elegant. This version has the option of the digital display which allows you to see at a glance how hot the water or liquid is as well as adjust the temperature with the click of a button. This is a great appliance and provides great value for the price.

Very simple and efficient kettle, better then expected to be honest. It takes about two minutes to boil the water and make tea. Easy to use, easy to clean and that is what matters to any kitchen item. I love simple items like this. Pros: Easy to use Easy to clean Fast Cons: None

I was introduced to electric kettles when I lived in Europe. Since returning to the US, I have not found one that met the standard I had become used to. They were okay but they just boiled water. That has now changed with this GE electric kettle with digital control. Yes, you can just boil water but you can also set the temperature if you don't want the water at the 212 degree F but would prefer something lower particularly if you have a temperature at which you prefer to steep your tea. You can set it so you can keep the water in the kettle warm as well. After you boil the water, the digital control will also tell you the temperature of the water in the kettle. It has automatic shut-off when it reaches boiling. It is very sturdy and, while it looks heavy, it is not. I have no problems picking it up when it is filled to maximum. My only suggestion to GE would be to perhaps put a chart in with their instructions of use as to possible water temperatures for different areas such as what would be best for steeping tea, making instant coffee or hot chocolate so people don't have to wait as long for them to cool, etc. I'm so glad I got this and it is already been earmarked as gifts to my tea-loving friends and family.

Good bye old tea-pot kettle.... Seriously, we dropped it off at the donation center. This Electric Kettle is simply awesome, and super easy to use. The lid has a pressure lock to keep it from falling off when using, so just hit the center button and you can lift the lid. Fill it with your water, and put the lid back on. Place on the base, hit the power, set your temp (if you want to change it). and in minutes you have near boiling hot water (if you set it to that level). The base is light weight, and stays put. Significant power cord, which is great when you know what this is doing it draws some current. But since it is not attached to the kettle, makes this really easy to use. Speed. The boiling method on the stove doesn't even come close to this speed in our tea pot. In just a minute or so (maybe 2 tops). the water was totally heated. Been using this for Tea, Hot Chocolate, and Ramen noodles. Also this looks high tech, and fits great in our modern kitchen look. Very easy to clean when you need to (since we just use it for fresh water, it has stayed pretty clean)

This electric kettle is perfect for making teas and coffee. It does exactly what it needs to do (heat and keep water at a specific temperature). I really like the fact that I can set and easily see the temperature from the handle so I don't have to play a guessing game to determine if the water is too hot for some of my teas. In addition, I am able to make pour over coffee easily due to the ergonomic nature of the kettle and the spout. Now, a goose neck will always be better for a pour over, however this is a good all-around water kettle. IN addition, the stainless steel look goes well with all of the appliances in my home. Again, this does what it is supposed to do well and looks fantastic in my kitchen.

I love this kettle and we received it at the perfect time. I WFH and am trying not to drink coffee for 8+ hours a day, so I’ve been all about herbal teas lately. Before, I would either boil water in a pot on the stove or pop a mug of water in the microwave —- like 5x a day. Now, in the morning I just fill up my kettle, turn it on and I have a whole pitcher of hot water within minutes! And the kettle is much larger than others I’ve seen, so I have plenty of hot water ready for my daily tea or oatmeal. There is a “Warm” function that will keep the water warm and if the water does cool off you can just reheat it, it’s fast! I’m a fan!

its hard to really write a ton about this kettle, not because it doesn't work but because it just works so well. Lets start by saying this is a pretty simple kettle, it has a digital display so you can set your water to the temperature you need, and it has a button to keep the water warm after you heat it up and that is it. no extra fluff no wifi connection or app to use with it. you just press the button wait and bam hot water. If you drink tea or coffee and are looking for a kettle to heat up your water I highly recommend this kettle. It looks great and works great and you cant ask for anything more from a kettle.

I've owned a lot of electric kettles in my life. And this is by far my favorite one. It's easy to use, heats up quickly, and the display is perfect!

I have had this product for a year and still use it. I enjoy using this for making hot water for my tea. It only takes 2-3 minutes for the water to reach boiling temperatures and it's difficult to burn yourself on. Very easy to use snd keep clean.
