Luckily, the outer dimensions were exactly the same so replacing it was very simple. The oven works as expected and the dial is nice. It takes getting used to though.

The store found that this microwave, which my wife found was higher rated, was available and the store would split the difference in cost ($100 more) with us. We went with it. We like the look and it does work fine but it's very difficult to operate. Simple things like melting butter or softening cream cheese is a case of trial and error. I'd recommend but use info above as a disclaimer.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Our GE microwave stopped suddenly after 9 years so I decided to upgrade to a GE Profile model to match our other appliances. There were only a few options to choose and were a lot more expensive then the GE non-Profile units. Our only requirement was to have something comparable to our previous GE microwave. Despite that I purchased this unit. There is a knob vs keypad that no one in the house liked, the inside was black enamel. The deal breaker was the noise. It was so loud my kids had to turn up the tv 25 feet away when it was on! I returned within a week (soonest I could get a non-Profile unit delivered). We love the new unit and it was 1/2 the price of this unit.

The only reason for the purchase was thart we were remodeling the kitchen. If this GE gives us 25 years, I will raise my rating. My only gripe with the new GE is al the raised surfaces within the microwave that need to be wiped down after a messy meal. The old microwave was a smooth box with no raised surfaces to hide spots of spaghetti sauce, etc.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The door to this microwave is not sealed and allows steam to build up in between the glass and the inside of door, leaving drip streaks inside the glass that cannot be cleaned or even taken apart to clean. Not worth all the money for this over the stove microwave. I called GE within 90 days of purchase and they told me that this is not covered under warranty. Best Buy will not warranty either.

Posted .Hello Jerry - Condensation inside the unit is normal and is especially prevalent when cooking foods of high moisture content for extended periods of time.
Moisture should dissipate in ten to fifteen minutes.
If minimal moisture is noticed between the glass of the door, allow the door to stand open for approximately 15 minutes to accelerate the dissipation of the moisture. If the moisture does not evaporate in a reasonable amount of time, we recommend service.
Steam and vapor escaping from around the door is normal.
Make sure food that needs to be covered while cooking is covered properly.
Make sure that there are no items blocking the airflow around the microwave case.
Condensation on or around the outside of the door is normal for when cooking certain foods.
Steam from cooking below an over-the-range microwave can collect on the door or control panel, or even the interior of the microwave. Wipe the moisture off with a paper towel or soft cloth. Use the vent fan to help prevent moisture from building up.
If moisture is noticed between the glass, allow the microwave door to stand open for approximately 15 minutes to accelerate the dissipation of the moisture.
There are air vents in the door that allows air to flow between the panes of the window in the door. Air passage through the door helps keep the door cool to the touch during operation. - TREY@GEA
