Glitchy, scratches easily, poor design. Have had 2 other GE ceramic cooktops for the past 25 years that worked well. This GE PROFILE 36" BUILT-IN PEP7036DTBB is terrible. Scratches so easily even with the best cookware in perfect condition. Randomly shuts off while cooking and won't turn back on. Left side burners are super small and very slow to heat up. Awful use of the cooktop space being that most of the area is not used for the burners so its large but not enough actual cooking area. returned it for a refund.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Regarding the hot surface indicator light, this cooktop has one for each cooking element and will glow when the glass surface is hot. They will remain on until the surface has cooled to a temperature that is safe to touch. -- Regarding the burner not working properly, we suggest checking out pages 16-17 of the Owner’s Manual for troubleshooting tips. The Owner’s Manual can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website. -- If these tips don’t help and the issues persist, we recommend scheduling service online by visiting the GE Appliances website or by calling 833-4BODEWELL (833-426-3393) M-F 8AM-8PM ET, Sat-Sun: Closed. The height size is more like 7" not 3 3/16"

The info. on this item lists the height as 3 3/16 inches. Which would have fit, but there is another almost 4 inches of a box underneath it that is not accounted for. Therefore, the cooktop could not be installed.

The customer service was horrible !!!! This replacement item which cost me more because they delivered a smashed one that was about 90 days over due. Then could not replace what they damaged and I had to pay more for a different model. A lot of promises to reimburse me once new item was delivered. No one from store management as reached out to solve the issue. I purchased a lot from that store and this is the result. Horrible and upsetting.

Although our purchase with you was fine we do NOT like the new design of the controls. They are a pain to use versus the old one we had.

GE Profile cooktop

Have used a GE electric cooktop for 18 years. Replaced burners twice but this GE profile has been extremely reliable. Decided to upgrade appliances so I bought the current version. Hope it does as well!!!
