My apartment has no central AC and fans were not cutting it. This comfortably cools my living room and makes it bearable to actually live in my home. Highly recommend it! I will note that if you live in an older building, the power this thing uses might trip your breaker depending on how many gadgets you have in one place. Definitely had to finagle placement of some electronics in the living room to get this to work.

This GE Profile portable AC gave us a respite from the heat. We used it to cool the main living area and it did- cool and dehumidify. Note that you should put a 5 gallon bucket to catch water from the drain line and plan to empty it every 6 hours or so. Also there is no photo in the instructions for the filter- it is a mesh on the back panel - something you can rinse if needed. Unit ducts were very easy to set up in the window.

Sounds like there is something loose on the inside of the unit. Other then that it cools our loving room and kitchen area nicely.
