If the water tank fills, it is supposed to turn off, but the tank is never full when this occurs. The manual is not thorough, the app doesn't work as it's supposed to, and the remote is intermittent. I would never buy this again and would have returned it if I hadn't thrown the box away. A window unit is so much less trouble than this portable.

Posted .We are so sorry to hear you are having these issues with your portable air conditioner. It is normal for the unit to turn on and off as needed to achieve the desired temperature. ||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this in August to replace a slightly noisier inverter A/C, and this did NOT win the contest between the two: It was WAY noisier. Not only could you hear the fan blowing, but it also rumbled our floor. Not a single one of the 13 A/Cs I've purchased has ever done that. I returned this unit, but I will add that it's possible the unit suffered damage, as the Styrofoam in the package was cracked. I firmly believe that the variations in reviews are directly related to damage in transit, for all portable A/C units seem sensitive. Overall, I would hesitate before easily purchasing this unit, especially as many reviewers seem to have some sort of connection to getting this either free or at a reduced cost.
