The side tank makes it easier to keep full and the ice makes nicely. I do with that it kept the made ice cooler so as to not melt as fast once it is made but we have been moving it to the freezer ice bucket and it is working well for us!

I did miss that this one didnt come with a drip tray. Was surprised how quickly its asking for a "clen" cycle. It is a bit of a chore to remove side tank and refill with water. Would seem to be easier if the top would come off instead of having to flip it upside down and remover the bottom. Overall though...absolutely love it.
