Within three days of purchase, it would start saying add water when the tank was 100% full and I would have to restart the system unplug it put it through a clean mode and then would start working in. It would work for 23 days and then it would say add water again so Within the first 30 days I’ve had to work through a predominant issue 11 times and now I’m going to return it

Posted .We can understand how upsetting it is when a new appliance doesn't work to your expectations. We apologize for your inconvenience and would like to help provide some tips that should help. If the water well is filled to the upper fill line and no ice is being produced, please perform this simple test: 1. Please start the Opal and switch to cleaning mode. Don't forget to detach the side tank. 2. Remove the screen/filter at the bottom corner of the reservoir, exposing the small white rubber inlet used for water circulation. 3. Make certain that the Opal is not connected to the phone app and that the water well is filled to the upper fill line with distilled water. 4. Remove the ice bin and press the button to see if the Opal pumps water. This could take up to 5 minutes to start. 5. Plug the small inlet with your finger for 10-15 seconds to create a vacuum within the pump/circulation system. 6. Release the plug and wait a minute or until you see water movement. 7. If you do not see a change, you may want to repeat these steps a couple of times. Note: If you see water movement, please switch to ice mode and run for 30 minutes. **You may also need to prime your pump so try using a Turkey Baster/Injector and gently fill the hose that doesn't go to the side tank with water, and then restart the machine. If you continue to have issues, please reach out to Opal Support at 1-866-907-6718, M-F 8-8 EST.

I only use Evian water in the container, really hits different

Since they no longer make the one I had I was given a store credit. Talking with the guy in appliances he told me I needed to buy an opal and I wouldn’t have the issues I had with my last one the Opal being much more expensive than the other nugget icemaker I purchased went home did some research and decided to upgrade. My new icemaker arrived, and I noticed a gash down the front of the side tank, when contacting Best Buy, they could not replace the side tank even when the main body still function without it. The hassle that I have to go through to replace a product that was damaged when I opened the box and took it out is incredible. I am so disappointed to receive a damaged product and have this hassle when it was meant to replace a product that I had already bought at Best Buy that lasted just a year they offered me $40 instead of getting a piece that wasn’t cosmetically damaged in the front that I have to look at every time I walk into my kitchen, that’s unacceptable. I need to drive a couple hours to the store that has it in stock if I wanted to replace it immediately and then telling me that I have to wait up to two weeks for UPS to pick it up for me because they could not replace just the accessory tank, the icemaker itself is OK but I dont feel its worth the price when I loved my last one that is no longer in production.

It now can not produce more than a half basket of ice without the oger getting jammed up and squeling. I have defrosted and started all over.

It melts, then the ice mats together. I had a $300 gift card which is how I offset the price. I'd never in a million years pay full price for this mediocre ice maker. I expected a much better experience.

Posted .The Opal Nugget Ice Maker should recirculate melted ice to the water reservoir. Please review the "Side Tank Accessory Setup" section on pg. 10 of the Owner's Manual to ensure the side tank is setup properly.
