Only complaint is the noise and with an open floor plan it’s unavoidable. The ice is great, it’s always full. I did remove the side tank because I assumed it caused excess noise but it only helped a little. It’s easy enough to fill when the add water light goes on.

This ice maker is a great addition to the kitchen and the ice is perfectly done. Makes a weird noise now and again but works great.

We got this to use in a bar area in a family room. Perhaps we had too high of expectation on the thirty minutes to ice claim. It took 35 minutes to make the first nugget and about three hours to make enough ice for one drink. You must periodically open the lid to get it to make more ice, but it does keep the ice it has made frozen for quite a while. For our use of 2-3 glasses of ice a day it’s doing the job. It probably would be fine for 5-6 glasses of ice a day. We haven’t had any company lately, but we don’t have confidence that it would keep up with you if you had company over for a party. You’d definitely want to have the side tank filled after making sure it made ice to fill itself so it could keep making ice. At one point the tube to the side water tank was dripping ever so slowly but we pushed it further on and that seems to have stopped. Wish the side tank had just a simple lid on top and that we could fill it that way. You get water spillage when you take it off and put it back on since it’s an upside-down configuration. It’s not very noisy but it is noticeable when it’s running. We think it sounds like a very quiet dishwasher or refrigerator hum. It’s a little larger than we expected but we don’t have anything to compare it to – it’s our first stand-alone ice maker.

Very convenient, easy to use, makes ice in just a few minutes. It shuts off once its full so you don't have to worry of overflow. Was a good buy,everyone loves the small ice chunks.

Bought this for work & I have been so happy with it! The entire staff comes over to get “the good ice.”Super easy to set up, clean & fill, plus tank makes it very easy to track when to refill. I’d definitely buy again & recommend to anyone looking for “the good ice”.

My current apartment does not have an ice maker and took the opportunity to purchase this. It's easy to clean and operate. The nuggets are consistent and make any drink delicious!

This unit was easy set up and easy to clean the ice

After reading reviews of the newer GE models, I purchased this older model from BB and it is amazing. Have had it for a few weeks and makes great pebble ice. We have it on during the day and take the ice leftover over store in a ziplock bag in the freezer for future use. Purchased the extended warranty should this model kick the bucket over the next four years.

We bought this ice maker and love it. We have 5 people getting ice everyday and we have never had to wait for ice, ever!! It’s easy to work and fill up with water and we have had no problems with anything.

This icemaker is so much quieter than our previous one. We like the tank on the side for filling also .

So far, my parents love it! It's obviously a complex appliance, but the instructions are very clear and it was straight forward to set up. It was a Christmas present for my parents and they are very happen. I elected to not upgrade to the 2 or 4 year additional warranty as this appliance comes with a 1 year warrant from GE.

A little big for the counter top but it makes lots of ice.

Bought this in July and have used it almost everyday since. It is always plugged in and on. Easy to set up. Love the size of the ice.

Excellent ice maker. Produces just what I want in my countertop ice machine. Very quiet. Easy to fill. Easy maintenance schedule and procedures.

THIS ICE MACHINE IS SO QUIET AND PRODUCES AND HOLDS A GOOD QUANTITY OF ICE. IT'S ON THE LARGER SIZE AND DOES NOT FIT ON OUR COUNTER BUT LUCKILY, WE HAD ANOTHER SPOT TO PUT IT.

Works good and makes ice very quickly. The only reason I don't give 5* is because when it's making ice it's very noisy. Once it finishes it's silent.

After much scrutiny, I decided on this maker. Glad I did. This replaced a small ice maker that I purchased from Best Buy, that didn't last a year. This makes lots of nice sized ice, like Sonics ice, and keeps the bin full. I have the exterior tank hooked up so I always have ice and only have to refill the water every few days. It was fairly easy to set up the outer tank after you figure out the directions for the hose. It has the cleaning button, and it cleans itself. However,it doesn't hurt to take it apart and give it a good cleaning every now and the, depending on your water. I use purified water out of my Brita to make ice since it doesn't have a filter that I'm aware of. Overall, well worth what it cost.

Great item. Having tried other units, the Opal was a welcomed delight.
