The noise I bothersome but to be fair, I don't have any other machine to compare it to. Recently, after only a few months of owning it, it started running all the time but not making any ice. Have to contact the manufacturer.

Posted .We'd like to help with the icemaker not producing ice and share some information about the sounds and compressor. It can be normal to notice the compressor run most of the time. Our models have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time. This makes them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is actually running. For your icemaker not making ice, we recommend checking to see if the water line behind your unit is clogged or obstructed. You can also check to see if your icemaker is enabled from the On/Off switch. You can view more troubleshooting by checking our article titled "Refrigerator - Icemaker Not Producing Ice" on our GE Appliances website. If the troubleshooting doesn't help, we suggest scheduling service with our Bodewell team by calling 1-833-426-3393.

Posted .Make sure that there is a minimum 3 inches clearance on the back and sides of the unit to ensure
proper airflow. If airflow is constricted, the machine will not produce ice normally. If vents are not obstructed, follow the descaling instructions on page 8 of the owner's manual. Soak unit for 18 hours and run through a full rinse cycle.
