Works just as advertised and makes delicious chewable ice. We did not run out for 6 people. More expensive but worth it if you can afford it. I did purchase on sale. There are good smaller ones that may work for you if only 2 to 3 people.

I like that it comes with a magnetic ice scoop holder. It makes ice really well, however it doesn’t hold very well for the money.

I can agree that this icemaker is much quieter than Frigidaire I previously purchased. That was a waste of money. The machine was super loud and broke down before a year.

Posted .We appreciate your feedback and encourage you to follow our recommendations for descaling your Opal every 2-3 weeks and sanitizing the unit every week or more often depending on your water quality. Posted .We recommend descaling and sanitizing your Opal as directed in the Owner's Manual at least every 4 weeks or sooner depending on the hardness of your water. Also, it's important to clean the rear air filter every 2 months. The Owner's Manual is available online by clicking on the Features tab and scrolling to the end of the Features list.
