I knocked one star off because the upgraded version requires you to turn a knob for the cooking time rather than pushing one button to start.

It seems as if there are multiple buttons that actually do the same thing. However, the product itself is good, it's been installed for about a week so far and does the job well.

Thanks so much for reviewing your microwave. We're quite happy to hear that you do love your unit and what it can do. Our apologies on any confusion about the cooking modes. We'll provide some explanations on the differences. Convection bake: Ideal for evenly browned baked foods, and great for large quantities of baked goods. Achieve good results with cookies, biscuits, muffins, cream puffs, bread, angel food cake, and so on. Convection Roast: Recommended for larger, tender cuts of meat or poultry. Heated air seals in juices quickly for a moist and tender product.
Heat comes from the broil (top) element on some models, and on newer models from the broil (top) and bake (bottom) element. Air Fry: A special Direct Air Convection mode that is designed to produce foods with a crispier exterior than traditional oven cooking. Common foods you might use with Air Fry are chicken wings or nuggets, potato products, vegetables, appetizers, jalapeno poppers, cheese sticks, pizza bites, etcetera.
The Air Fry mode uses hot, fast-moving air directed from above to surround the food you are cooking. We hope this helps. Let us know if you have any questions. Mike@GEA

We just used the convection roasting feature to roast lamb chops. They came out very well. I love all the features and can't wait to try many of them. It's working very well and was a solid choice.

It’s so convenient to “spin the dial” to add or subtract cooking time, and the versatility of it is amazing! I use it as a microwave, of course, but it is also an extra oven for baking or for air frying. Both of those additional settings have been so helpful on several occasions. If I were to remodel or move, I would purchase this exact same microwave for my new kitchen. It is great!

Which is a problem. Finding an operator's manual was difficult and I still don't have a good reference as to what this thing can do.

I am extremely pleased with this product. It looks good in my kitchen and functions just as well. Just remember to read the instructions first.

Unfortunately the company who I wrote prior to ordering is not real responsive or understanding of the issue I posted. I asked what was the total space required to install the unit and to insure that the door didn’t hit my pantry. So I asked specifically how much the door added when fully opened. Their response - it’s designed to fit in a 30” space. WRONG! It takes 31” to fully open the door if you have a wall on the left side.

GE did not supply any information about instructions and when I called to get the booklet was told I had to print it myself as they were going green! If It was installed I would have returned it. Getting the hang of the air fryer but it is frustrating! Very unhappy with GE!

The controls are easy to figure out and the unit performs flawlessly. The food heats evenly and quickly. We have not used the convection part of the unit yet as we haven't had a need to . Holidays are coming and we will probably use it then.
