The microwave hampered cook top access. This new one is a slimline that fits under the cabinet and we only needed a microwave.

This is in part due to the fact the front door is now totally flat (no insets or anything, and the window portion is now much smaller (for some unknown reason), so it effectively makes the front door surface like a mirror and/or major light reflector. I had to return it and order the Slate Black model , which will be slightly differetn from my other appliances. I also unfortunately had to buy it at a different establishment, since Best Buy did not have it available "in my area" . A real pet peeve that I have with Best Buy lately. If it is in your system and available, it should be available everywhere for shipping. If it will take an extra couple days because it is coming across country or whatever, so be it. But don't tell me I can't have it because you need to ship it from further away! and you don't want to be bothered!!??? Horrible policy in this day and age!!!! I am also very disappointed that GTE changed the size of the Space Saver model, and literally made the exterior dimensions on the SPACE SAVER!!!! bigger, with no change to the interior space. THE SPACE SAVER!!!!!! So All of us who had a customized space for the original model that was less than 12" in height have to rebuild our cabinets or relocate!! Insane that they would change dimensions at all of a model intended for a Space-defined problem, and in particular that they would make it bigger!!!!!

The only argument that we have is that the door takes some getting used to open. Wish it only took a light push to open. We find it best to use two hands.

This the only microwave that would fit the cabinet space for my microwave, so glad GE still makes it. The latest model has had its LED display upgraded and it seems to cook much more efficiently. I hope it lasts as long as the last one!

We are delighted the unit is doing a good job heating your food and understand your concern regarding the size of the cavity on this unit. The interior dimensions of this oven are 17 3/8"W x 12 1/4"D. This model offers a great feature that will allow you to heat larger dishes like casseroles. When wanting to heat a dish that is too large to rotate on the turntable properly, press the Turntable pad one time to turn the turntable off. When you want to heat or reheat a normal size dish or cup, the turntable should remain on. For more information, please see page 17 of your owner's manual. We couldn't make it fit with a new install kit either.

It heats your food constantly and is very efficient. There are different options for various types of food. Weather it’s frozen, or just needs a quick reheat or a full cooking option you have choices.
