Tried Competing Unit from LG - This one the Best

So I have a whole story here. I got one of these becasue I live in a space confined condo. It worked like a champ. Most loads are 2-3 hours - even with a ton of towels and other stuff. Then the LG came out with a similar product and because the brand is sexier, and it's 9 inches shorter for more space savings I tried that. This one is just much more reliable than the LG. LG has a more compact unit and the software is slicker but I may have had a dud. It would not dry. I LOVE the GE unit, I feel bad for straying to the sexier unit and not sticking with what was working well. I'd love for GE to reduce the height in the next versiuon and add some bells and whistles like LG has in the software. Other than that- it's perfection.

This washer/dryer combo works like a dream! I was one of those people who ended up re-washing clothes because I would forget to transfer them to the dryer. No more! Easy to use, very intuitive, and it gets every bit of pet hair off of our clothes! Electric bill went down, too! Takes 2-2 1/2 hours to complete wash/dry cycle.

    Great washer/dryer for limited space

The product works great. Drys just fine with standard 110 electrical outlet and no need for a vent. Just hook up water hoses, plug it into an electrical outlet, and go. It takes a little longer than other machines to dry, but acceptable. Nice to not have to move washed clothes to a dryer - already there. We were a bit disappointed with Best Buy installation though. It is a very heavy machine (about 300 lbs), so professional delivery is needed. They got it into the room ok, which was good, but they refused to hook the machine up saying the water faucets needed to be replaced. They did not even hook the hoses to the machine. We just cleaned off the faucets ourselves later, easily put on the hoses, and plugged it in. Faucets are fine. There are no leaks. It was easy to do, and it works great. Seems odd that the included installation did not happen. They did not even try. Not a huge thing, but maybe don't expect the included installation unless faucets are pristine.

Kind of works. Sometimes. Maybe. With wrinkles.

The combo unit is a nice idea and gets clothes clean, however the drying options include damp and wrinkled, or dry and wrinkled. Sometimes (2/10) I will actually get clothes that are dry enough and don’t have wrinkles. I’ve tried small, medium and large loads as well as keeping heavier fabrics in separate loads away from lighter fabrics. It’s a craps shoot that end up nullifying any time benefit from having to move a load over traditionally. The unit also randomly leaked all over my laundry room on more than one occasion. I check the lines, drain pipe, filter, etc and nothing is clogged. Then is works normally (which results in wrinkled clothes). I would suggest waiting until there is competition and the combo unit market has matured a bit before purchasing. I’d return it and buy a nicer separate set, however I’m unfortunately past the time period (it’s only been 3.5 months) even as a Best Buy TotalTech member. The capacity and dry time ratings would be great if a) you didn’t have to run smaller loads in an effort to get past the wrinkled results and b) you didn’t have to run the dewrinkle program multiple times to get the wrinkles out, if it works at all (yes, I’ve stood next to machine waiting for it to end so I could get the clothes within seconds of the cycle end). Bottom line: you’ll spend more time running multiple dewrinkle cycles and/or ironing/steaming your clothes on top of the longer cycle times the product has. Save your money and buy a classic set.

Connecting to the SmartHQ app is highly recommended; this ensures that your software is always up to date. These software updates can optimize your Combo's performance and address potential issues. In addition to Dewrinkle, the Combo offers a Wrinkle Care option. When selected, Wrinkle Care will tumble intermittently for up to 8 hours making the clothes less prone to wrinkling. I recently purchased the GE washer dryer combo, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! it saves space in my laundry room, but it also delivers exceptional cleaning and drying results. The energy efficiency is a huge plus, helping me save on utility bills without compromising on performance. Overall, I highly recommend this combo for anyone looking for convenience, efficiency, and top-notch laundry results. I gave it only four stars because it is louder than I thought it would be.

This works perfectly for my husband and I. It is very convenient not to have to change over loads and we are saving on detergent with the auto dispense option. Drying does take a little longer than a typical vented unit, but it still uses less energy!

Absolutely amazing- I did a lot of research and video watching before my purchase and felt well informed. It was truly a great purchase for me and my family- to avoid having to wait up to switch the laundry at night and to start a load before work and come home to it dry is worth every penny.

My wife and I are super happy with this purchase. Space saving high-efficient and super easy to install for the do-it-yourself type like me, and easy to use and pair with your smart phone. Check the User manual (before) for unboxing. I did not and I regret it. Still got it done with ease, mind you this unit is very heavy, 350 lbs.

Magical! I've only had this a month but so far it works great, major time saver not switching loads and I like the fact it doesn't over dry baby clothes that shrink easily. Make sure upon delivery though the folks remove shipping bolts on back. It was shaking violently until we called for service and here it was shipping bolts still attached, Ran perfect after that. No need to vent either - which was a huge bonus for us and not needing 220 electric plug. Will be buying another for daughter's condo!

Aweome and convenient because of the no vent requirement. Laundry room is a smaller area and it saves alot of dpace only having one machine instead of two. The only downside is when drying towels or blankets it takes a while and easy to overload it to where have to do multiple srying cycles.

This fit perfectly in our laundry area. Leaving space for additional storage was the plan. It has a balancing issue with us being in a mobile home set up like a pier and beam structure. When the Spin Cycles we going, the home vibrated a lot... If we were on a concrete slab, this probably would not have been an issue. We really like this otherwise.

We are sorry to hear that you returned your Ultrafast Combo due to the smell. There are a number of possible causes for this, such as a new machine odor, detergent issues, or lint in the drain pump. You can refer to the following article for more information here:

It does a good job washing and has some great features. The drying isn't the best, the majority of the cloths are dry but I'm finding that the cotton t-shirts are pretty damp still. Also, if you didn't buy the pedestal its not easy to clean the pump clean out. To start out, I had set up for delivery for specific day and was off work for the delivery which was suppose to be between (I think) 1 to 5. I ended up getting a call at 12 that they wouldn't be there and re-scheduled me for almost 2 weeks later. I had already taken my old washer and dryer out and I no longer had them. When I went to the store to find out what was going on, the manager told the associate that they fly their guys in (from out of town) that do the set up, and they did not fly in that day.... HMMM, interesting because the guys that set it up (below about setting up) were from town... so I was lied to. ( NOT HAPPY ON BEING LIED TO!!) So now, I had to take another day off work, and take my cloths elsewhere to wash/dry them. I had it delivered and paid for set up, however I would give the Best Buy delivery guys a MINUS -10 !! Best Buy contracts out there delivery and apparently they don't train them and let anybody just do it. First, taking it out of the box they tilted it back on the back side, and it is suppose to be tilted to the side to get the bottom of the box off (hopefully I don't have issues later on because of this). 2nd, they brought it in, and didn't hook it up right. Nothing was done correct and I ended up fixing their mess up. Just one example is they shoved water drain hose all the way down, didn't un-hook it from the back of the machine completely. They left the metal brackets that were on the back for packing on and were to be taken off. This is just a couple examples.

So far, so good. Love that it takes up less space and does a good job of washing and drying. The clothes might seem slightly damp when you remove after dry cycle, but that goes away quickly. You may get water hammering in your pipes (we did), as happens with a lot of newer appliances with solenoid valves. If so, you will need to install devices called "hammer arresters".
