This toaster oven has it all. * Wi-Fi to connect to your phone for updates and remote access. You can not power on and start remotely though. * You can control from Google Home, assume you can use other assistants as well * Bright interactive display * Plenty of accessories (fry basket, tray, rack, etc.) * The oven opens with a button press, however manual close * No preheating needed * Internal light * More settings than you can shake a basket at The oven cooks extremely fast. For instance, I am used to using a 3 setting for toast, with this I have to set as a 2 otherwise it is darker than I like. For pizza, what I am use to baking 15 minutes in the old toaster oven or 18-20 in the conventional oven, was done in about 8-9 minutes in this oven at a lower temp. The pizza turned out perfect, just watch it to make sure of your timings. I usually drop about 20% on time and 20 degrees on temp with our old oven. Now I start checking around 40% of the time. For example if the direction said 400 at 20 minutes I would cook at 380 for 16 minutes in the old oven. Now I do 380 and start checking at 12 minutes. I am hard pressed to find anything I do not like about this oven. The app is probably the lowlight of the experience. It would be nice to have a little cleaner app that is not so... so... convoluted. The app definitely needs a revamp and some dumbing down. It tries to do too much. Luckily, the app is not required outside of for smart functions, which is half the selling point. Overall, this is a great buy. I would highly recommend, light years above our previous toaster oven. Also cheaper to run than the big oven for quick cooking.

I am not that good in the kitchen. In my house I tend to leave the cooking to my wife and I do all the cleaning. So any appliance that is easy to use is very helpful to me. And as a plus gives the wife a break. I have only recently gotten good at using our countertop grill and am very happy with how it has helped make great meals for us. This is not the first countertop oven we have had. Our prior one stopped working and this one is actually a replacement. I didn’t use our prior oven much but I expect that as I get used to this appliance it will also be a very nice addition that I can use more. Much like I have with our other grill. There is a lot going on here and it is going to take time to really get good at all of the ways it can be used. For what I have cooked in the short time I have had this oven I have had good results but I have only barely touched on what it can do. There are some things that even with the short time we have had it I do feel confident to talk about. For one it is a very nice looking oven and should fit in well in any modern kitchen decor. The lighting is done well. I don’t know how useful the cooking status light bar is but there is no denying it looks cool. The other front panel lighting for the controls, cooking options, temperature and timer are bright and easy to read. I am not a fan of touch sensitive controls as they feel a bit touchy but I think it's more I am just learning how to use it. They work fine but as you can expect they are going to show anything on your fingers. Also the front panel feels like it might be easy to scratch. I typically use microfiber cloths and that is probably a must when cleaning here. Overall this oven is quite attractive so it would be a shame if it doesn’t hold up well. I do have to say the internal lighting is probably the best I have ever seen on any appliance. You can really see your food cooking and as a novice that is a very nice feature. The door is all glass and swings up out of the way. I like this but it does make cleaning it a bit harder. Also this is a fairly large oven so be sure you have the counter space for it. The oven comes with a nice selection of accessories but it is a shame only the baking pan is dishwasher safe. I have learned over the years to take that requirement seriously if you want your trays and racks to look good and last for years. This is not that unusual but still too bad. Another complaint is the mobile application. It gets pretty bad reviews on the Google play store. It is very limited in what it can do and it's a good thing you don’t need it. I don’t see me using it and will probably uninstall it. You can’t start the oven from the app. It can notify you when it's done cooking but the oven does that well enough on its own with a very nice sounding notification so the app really doesn’t help out anyway. It just feels like another way to push ads. The oven doesn’t come with a recipe book. The app does have a link to recipe suggestions so that may be helpful for some. Overall I think as I use this oven it will be a nice addition to our kitchen. It will take time since any oven and even any meal can be a trial and error to get good results. It's a very good looking appliance that should look nice in any kitchen. Cleaning could be easier and it does need quite a bit of counter space. Also there are many other countertop ovens that are much more affordable that do pretty much the same thing. I wish the app was more useful but I don’t really see the need for it anyway. The fan is loud but not irritating like our older oven. I do like how the middle tray slides out when the door is open. I noticed that there is fogging in between the two glass panels on the front door. I hope this doesn’t become a bigger problem as it is used more.

This is not an old school toaster oven, the GE Profile Smart Oven is an actual oven that goes on your counter and features many modes that help you cook common items easily without having to mess around with temperatures and times. GE advertises this as an 11-in-1 oven, but these are just preset modes that help you get the time and temperature set quickly. The included racks and accessories allow you to cook several different items easily and the easily removable crumb tray make clean up easy. The recommended SmartHQ app does not seem very useful for me and I ended up removing all notifications as they were getting annoying and they are redundant since the oven itself also notifies you. I was hoping the app would have recommended cooking times for different items and would allow you to quickly and easily send the times and temps to the oven so you could reheat different items. Instead it just has the same presets that are available on the oven and the ability to turn lock the controls and turn on the light from the app. The app also asks for a bunch of unnecessary permissions, location and bluetooth, which shouldn't be needed for an app that starts an oven. Overall I don't see the need for the app and will probably end up uninstalling it. Other than the app, the oven is really great, I love the fact that it doesn't need to be preheated and can be quickly and easily started with many different presets for common items. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to cook and wants an easy way to do this.

I've never been a big fan of toaster ovens. Probably because back in the day, they were these small things that felt bulkier than a normal toaster but not big enough to do anything else with them that you couldn't just do in a normal oven better. Now a days, it seems that isn't the case anymore and probably why this is called a "smart oven" instead of a toaster oven. Setup was a breeze. Make some room on your counter (because it's not small) and plug it in. That's all that's required. The instructions suggest running on air fry mode for 20 minutes at 400 degrees to kind of clean the inside before use. Then you just need to wash the trays with soap and water real quick. There's another step which is completely optional but I thought it was neat because I've wanted it on my standard oven before. You can download an app and connect this "smart" oven to it so you have some control over it from your phone. It's not a huge thing but I think it's nice to be able to grab your phone and see how long the oven has left without actually needing to check it. It also could be nice to prepare your food and put it in the oven and then start it from your phone later, but there's a 10 minute safety shutoff to the remote feature that stops you from doing this too long after your prepared the oven. It makes sense and I'm not going to complain about it. The one thing that could make the whole "smart" oven thing amazing would be a small camera inside the oven that would let you see your food so you tell if your pizza is burning. Working the oven is pretty easy too. There's a bunch of preset buttons that set some settings, temperatures and times for you. You want a pizza? There's a button that will set the oven to 20 minutes at 400. Bagels or toast? Separate buttons so you can set up the "shade" of them as well as how many slices you're cooking. The instruction booklet is pretty short and goes over what each function is meant to do and how it's meant to cook so you have a pretty good idea of how everything works. Probably the only thing I would change is having separate buttons for time/temp up and down instead of needing to press the time button and then change the time and then press the temp button and then change the temp. Small gripe that's easy to get over, though. Otherwise the interface and functionality is pretty simple to use. The big sell on this oven is the "no preheat" claim. I was really excited about that and have been cooking everything in it without preheating. This is especially huge for our family because our main oven seems to take forever to preheat. Long enough where my wife will tell me to preheat the oven when she's on her way home from work so we can cook a pizza and it probably still won't be fully heated by time she's home. So far, I haven't run into anything being undercooked because I didn't preheat the over. This thing gets hot fast. If anything, I'd say it might get too hot. I'm still adjusting some cook times to find where the sweet spot is for certain things. One example is the pizza I cooked a couple nights ago. The instructions on the oven say to just use the temperature and times on the food so I hit the pizza button and then set the time to 25 minutes. When the timer was half way done (which reminds me of the neat LED progress bar that stretches across the bottom of the lid), the pizza looked pretty much done. I let it go until the end and I'd say I would have been more than fine with the default 20 minute timer. So if there's any hurdle to using this oven as a daily cooker, it's going to be figuring out how much time certain things actually need to cook. Trial and error is probably all you have to rely on here. The instructions even state that when baking cookies, later batches might cook faster when the oven is already hot so it's going to be some remembering and a little bit of gut to get things right every time. The size of the oven is.. big. But that means it's spacious on the inside as well. I haven't cooked myself a full chicken or anything in there, but I'm happy enough it fits a standard sized frozen pizza comfortably. Aside from some things that we cook on a full baking sheet, I can't think of many things I wouldn't be able to fit in this oven. What else can I say about this? I'm a fan. We rearranged our kitchen to make space on our very limited counter space and I'm not unhappy about it at all. I feel like this oven is going to replace our microwave for a lot of things just because we don't need to preheat it all. Reheating food for the kids quickly without the microwave sounds great. I don't even think the price is terribly unreasonable. If you're looking for an smaller (but not too small) oven with "11" different functions, this one might be the one for you.
