I always wanted a mixer like this one. The price was right and it is more than I expected I would recommend this mixer. I enjoy it every time I use it

The title says it all. Sturdy and durable, this mixer has everything I need and then some. Upon opening, the first thing I notice is the build. From the bowl, to the lid and all the attachments, everything is quality. In comparison to other mixers I have used, this feels up-to-par for a fraction of the usual cost. Setup was straightforward and within minutes we were mixing up a batch of "dirt pudding" for Earth Day. Consistency of ingredients were smooth and even with no issues on speed variance. I've whipped eggs and cream. Perfect. My favorite thus far has been mashed sweet potatoes. Once again, perfect consistency. All pieces are easy to clean, and with the easy open hinge, dismantling and storing is a non issue. I haven't been able to try an extra attachments, but I appreciate that GE took the steps to make the attachment slot universal. Being able to use other brand's fun attachments is a great added feature. Great power with a good variation of speeds and attachments would definitely have me recommending it to others. This is a quality machine.

The GE stand mixer is a granite gray color with chrome accents. It is model number G8MSAAS1RSH. It comes well packaged with the following: mixer, dough hook, whisk, beater, stainless steel bowl, pouring shield, user manual and warranty registration information (see picture). I recommend reading the manual before you operate the mixer. I found the mixing chart; and, care and cleaning sections most helpful. It is a smart looking unit being gray with chrome accents. It is solidly built with a max of 350 watts. I wanted to do a good test of the mixer. I have a recipe for whipped shortbread that is tough on mixers. You start by whipping butter (see pictures). Blend ingredients and then mix on high for about 13 – 15 minutes. One challenge I have with this recipe is the batter climbing the sides of the bowl. This bowl performed well and I did not have as much of an issue as with my other mixer. The mixer shuts off after 10 minutes as a safety measure. You just turn the dial to 0 and then to the desired speed to get mixing again. The mixer was warm but not as warm as my previous mixer. The 350 watts make it operate smoothly. The following are some features worth noting: - The GE mixer is 350 watts compared to my other mixer at 275 watts. - The bowl has a handle. My previous one did not. - A pouring shield is provided. My other mixer does not have one. - The bowl is 5.3 quarts. This is larger than my previous bowl (see picture). - GE products are always top quality in my experience. I have a number of GE products and they have served me well. - At the time of writing this review, the mixer was $199. This is a good deal compared to other mixers. - The GE mixer has 7 speeds using a dial on the base section. My other mixer has 10 speeds using a lever on the top section. I personally like the dial more. - The arm lock lever works well. It locks in both the down and up position. - The GE mixer is 4 pounds lighter than my other mixer. - 10 minute safety shut off. You turn the dial to 0 and keep going if you need to (I did). It is a safety measure to prolong the life of the unit. In conclusion, I really like this mixer and I recommend it. Especially at $199 you cannot go wrong. I rate this GE mixer 5 out of 5 stars.

This is a really nice stand mixer with the basics of exactly what I needed for being a weekend home baker. It's really nice to look at with its granite gray and stainless steel look. This mixer mixes the ingredients really well and also helps to make my baking process easier. Included with this stand mixer are a 5.3 Quart Bowl which is made from stainless steel and seems to hold quite a bit of ingredients. Easy to attach and lock in components such as the wire whisk, coated flat beater, coated dough hook, and the bowl with handle locks into the base to stay secure. There are 7 speed settings so you can easily find your desired mixing setting for whatever mixing adventure you're preparing. I felt the ease of use and operating this mixer was easy to do and convenient. This is my first stand mixer and the tilting head design that locks into place is convenient to allow for easily adding ingredients and pulling the bowl in/out. The motor on this appliance is a 350 watt motor that seemed to do a great job on making some cookie mix, brownie mix, and cake mix so far. Also to ensure complete mixing of all the ingredients the GE mixer has a 59 point mixing cycle which encircles the bowl thoroughly and completely to mix up all the ingredients into your bowl properly. Added bonus for me was the peace of mind I have when the mixer is moving pretty fast, that there is an included bowl splash guard to help keep the mixture of the ingredients within the bowl and less on my counter and walls. I really like the classy looks and it makes the kitchen counter look fancier in our home. Home bakers like myself will enjoy this as I have been whipping up some bakery treats with my child for after school snack time. PRO: Great style and looks Powerful motor Easy to operate

It will be hard not to compare this to the reigning champion stand mixer “Classic”, but the GE Stand Mixer is definitely giving it a run for its money. PROS: -The size is perfect. Lots of room with the 5.3qt included bowl. No sloshing of ingredients out the side. -Did not the use the included lid, but with more wet recipes it will definitely come in handy. -Sound operation is normal and par with the “Classic”. -Love the speed dial and improvement with more adjustable speeds. -Build Quality is great and cleans up easily. Granite Gray is more of a brown gray and or a stainless steel with a patina. -User Manual has very useful Pro Tips. -A huge PLUS is the tilting head as the lever locks the head in both the down and up positions. When in down, the lever is spring loaded, so it can easily be done one-handed…a HUGE feature upgrade. CONS: -The only thing I wish for is a latch design for the bowl lock. It is the same as all other mixers as a twist lock, but it can still untwist when in use. Highly recommend this mixer. The accessories for the mixing are the same as all others. At the time of writing I don’t see any accessories for the accessory port like the “Classic” has, and I am wondering if those may actually work with this mixer?

The GE stand mixer is an excellent product and a must have for anyone who loves to bake or is just starting to enter the baking pool. The mixer is not overly heavy and is well balanced. Its speed adjustments and settings are easy to use and the motor is pretty quiet, you know its running but its not so loud that you would need to leave your kitchen to hold a conversation. The lift up top locks into place in both the lower and up position so you don't need to worry about pinching you finger, this is a nice feature to have especially if you have those little helpers with you. The mixing bowl twist locks into place and is very secure yet easy enough to remove for anyone to handle. If countertop space is limited, this stand mixer can easily be tucked away in one of your cabinets, but its design is so nice you may want to leave it out as a piece of eye candy. The mixing accessories swap out in a second and the no mess lid attachment is a great added feature to help minimize clean up. Overall, this stand mixer is a great value, has an excellent price point and will have you house smelling like fresh bread or whatever you set your mind to bake that day.

It is easy to operate, sturdy. The first test for a butter cream was an absolute success. Very pleased with this purchase!

Overall I am satisfied with the mixer. It delivers as promised but is a bit noisier than I had hoped. Initially I was a bit concerned that I might blow the motor as I cycled through speeds while making bread dough. Even making chocolate chip cookie dough the motor was still fairly loud (not like a blender, but I was hoping for more like "purring kitty" on the lowest setting) regardless of dough thickness. The design is very traditional and the operation is very simple. I like that the mixer comes with 4 accessories: a whisk, an aluminum (?) beater, an aluminum (?) dough hook and a splatter cover. The beater and hook are NOT dishwasher safe but the whisk and the deep mixing bowl are. I don't think I would trust the cover in the dishwasher--but perhaps it could ride on the top rack. I do not like that I cannot easily slip a scraping spatula in while the beater is running (too narrow and deep of a bowl) but having never owned a stand-up mixer this might be the case with all designs. It is every easy to operate with a single, 7-speed knob and the "lift" lever to tilt the mixer up (so you can add ingredients or scrape the bowl). I did notice that the bowl has a slight "dimple" in the bottom where liquid ingredients (like egg) pool up even after your ingredients are mixed. For example, about a half a tablespoon of raw egg was still on the bottom of the bowl when I was done with my cookie dough--egg that did not get incorporated into the mixture. Overall I am satisfied with my first stand mixer and would recommend the product.

This one of the best mixers out there. Very compact and easy to use

I bought this for my wife, and she absolutely loves it. Her and I both love that it accepts almost every add on on the market, which is a must in today’s world. I personally love using the third-party meat grinder attachment that I found, so I can make my own ground beef and homemade sausages. My wife loves the burgers and sausages I make from it as well, which is also necessary. It’s definitely the perfect mixer for anyone that loves working in the kitchen.

I have used this many times since I bought it. I really like the plastic piece to help with messes for when I mix powder sugar and cream cheese together for pumpkin rolls. The bowl is really deep so you can mix a lot more than I expected.

We are so pleased with this mixer. We have started to make our own breads and it does a great job. Easy to use, easy to clean, happy with the features. Got for a great price through Best Buy's price match.

My husband needed a new mixer and loves this one! He needed a new one for the Holidays because he does most of the cooking and baking, and this one did not disappoint.

Got this when it was on sale since I've been wanting one but didnt want to spend over $300 for one. I really like it. I'm not a big time baker, I just do simple baking and this does the job just fine.

Overall it seemed like a good mixer. The body was sturdy and well built. The dealbreaker was specific to one attachment, which didnt quite reach close enough to the inside edge of the bowl which made it ineffective for whipping. Compared to a Kitchen Aid, the GE was well worth the price but the attachments seemed like they wouldnt last as long. For a first mixer, its probably a great and affordable solution. For a lifetime mixer that you'll hand down to your kids some day, go with a kitchen aid instead.
