I've been waiting for this game ever since I bought my Xbox one! The story is great, visuals and sound are mesmerizing! And the gameplay is just as refined as ever! The multiplayer is better than ever and shotguns are still king (for better or worse). My girlfriend and I love playing this series but we're a little disappointed with the new Horde. It's not as fun as Gears 3.

I was nervous about pre-ordering this game, given how poor Judgment was, but the beta feedback was so positive I rolled the dice to get it 4 days early and spend my weekend playing. And it didn't disappoint! So far the story line has been compelling and there are some new and exciting features to the gameplay.... but beware the villains have learned them as well.

If youre like me then you need an escape from all the wallrunning and flying in the air and this is that escape. Gears sticks to its roots!

Woo! One of the top Xbox series returns and its as good as you remember. They didn't try to reinvent the wheel and thats a good thing. They did enough to make things fresh yet still have the familiar gears feel. Both new and old fans will find stuff to enjoy either in the fantastic campaign, or the multiplayer that will keep you coming back for more.

If you liked the first four games in the "Gears of War" storyline, you will certainly enjoy this latest edition. No spoilers here. The storyline is a fantastic continuation following the life of Marcus Fenix with the addition of his son. The action is intense and the story is involving. Gears of War 4 deserves a 5. You will love it.

UGH, the game is randomly lagging out for extended times and then also randomly disconnecting form the GOW4 servers and kicking us from online play making us lose our 0-50 Hoarde challenges/bounties. REALLY frustrating

The game mechanics are tight and control is spot on. Graphics for the most part are outstanding and really shine on a 4K display. Music and sound effects are excellent! I really enjoyed playing through the single player campaign and might do it again. Over all Id highly recommend this title to fans of the genre!!

Gears of War 4 is a must have for all gears fans and is a great starting chapter to the new generation of Gears! I went with the ultimate edition to get it a few days early but this version is definitely worth the price tag. The steelbook is very nice looking and the inclusion of the season pass is great too.

I've played every Gears game up to this point, and I've got to say that in my opinion this is the best one so far. The game feels so polished and complete. The story is great, and multiplayer options are perfect. This game has definitely had a ton of effort put into it and it shows

First of all the multi-player is back to the roots of gears of war. It is just as good as gears of war 3 and they added a couple more things which work well. The story mode continues and is well narrated as all other gears games. Would recommend to any big gears fan like myself.

In the end, if you like previous Gears of War games, you'll like this. If you do not like previous Gears of War games, there's little to change your mind here. Campaign is a fun trip down memory lane, multiplayer is fun and frantic, and horde is probably the best its ever been.

Another great addition to the Gears Saga. Graphics are great! Highly recommend.

Overall a fun game, I would reccomend this if you like the other gears games. If you havent played those, I reccomend you play gears 1 through 3 and get this on a sweet sale.

I love the gears or war franchise. The graphics on this disk are so clear!

This is one of the best gears of war games in the franchise. The story-line meets the high expectations coming from a long time gears of war fan, myself. The new multiplayer versus modes are fun and horde is back with new enemies and a class system.

Excellent game with a new generation of Gears learning from the Originals. There was an attempt to create a mystery that was not very successful, never the last it have a good story and excellent action, new enemies Vehicles and the saga continues.

I’m a big fan of gears of war great game with really good graphics.

It was an enjoyable game to play through, and the story moved campaign well. The ending was a little lack-luster, and reminiscent of gears 2. The final battle wasn't incredibly difficult even on veteran. The new horde dynamic seems to have changed drastically. Instead of the gears 3/horde 2.0 where individuals have cash and can share by choice, this is more a pool for the team. Great if you have your squad with you to share, but on random it takes some effort not to have some knob just spend it all. There is also a new skills progression in horde (terrible IMHO) which doesn't level as fast as general xp does. Sure it's easy to level the soldier, but sniper or engineer take grinding or pay2play for the skills. Even though I got the season pass, I'm still against the pay2play dynamic for any game leveling. Haven't dove too much in the general multiplayer since the beta. No opinion on it yet. Regardless, gears is still my favorite xbox franchise and a go to for some friends to jump in and play. This game sets up for another sequel if not a trilogy to start fresh.
