From the campaign to the multiplayer this games a masterpiece. Feels exactly like the original but 10x better because of the smooth 60fps and 1080p resolution. All the cinematics are completely redone, they added new multiplayer modes, they give you access to the Gears 4 beta, free copies of the 360 versions of Gears 1, 2, 3 and Judgement that you can play on your Xbox One when the backwards compatibility update goes live this fall, and best of all..... NO HOST! It's all running on dedicated servers. So if you were on the fence about getting it, don't be. Whether you're a first timer or a long time veteran this game is definitely worth picking up

The original gears of war blew many games to shame due to more advance graphics engine of unreal engine. A cover base shooter which define how gears play in the campaign and on multiplayer. This time the new team behind this new gears have really outdone themselves with improve graphics and truly 1080 native with 60fps. A dedicated server for the online multiplayer. In addition 5 new chapters have been added to the Xbox one which previously was never on the Xbox 360 and now includes new team death match and king of the hill. Backwards compatibility will be included in the coming months so you can play the older gears game on the Xbox one.

This game has been remastered in an exceptionally respectful way. Re-visualizing entire levels, props, monsters, and cutscenes to current gen tech with an insane attention to detail and respect to the source material leaves this a no-brainer buy for me. The game plays just as I remember it with the highest quality remastered sound effects, particle effects, cutscenes, characters, monsters, and environments I've ever seen. This remaster goes above and beyond any other remaster besides Resident Evil Remake I've ever witnessed. Nothing more could be asked of a developer remastering a game. Well done Coalition!

If you are a fan of the original gears of war then this is a must have. The graphics and sound are excellent. The multiplayer matchmaking is quick.

The original game was my first one for 360 and it felt fresh and new. The original game is now over 9 years old and there's still something refreshing about playing it. There are issues with your AI characters, I played through on hardcore mode and most of the time, my teamates were downed and asking for revives. If you play with a co-op partner, it would go much smoother I would imagine. The graphics look great and the re-cut cinematics are nice and still make it feel fresh. It had been such a long time since a played the first gears that the experience felt somewhat new still. I thoroughly enjoyed my time going through this again and will be spending a lot of time in multiplayer.

Although I did not play GOW on the original Xbox, I can still recall the graphics, and I must say that they have drastically improved them on this Xbox One version. Game play is excellent, weapons are awesome, but the only thing I do not like how much the screen shakes when sprinting, and that I will eventually get used to. Other than that, the only other issue I have is with the item description. The description leads you to believe you that the previous Xbox GOW games are included on the GOW: Ultimate Edition disc, but in fact, this is only true when the backwards compatibility update rolls out, and even then you still need the original discs.

The graphics are great. The campaign is even better the second time around. Multiplayer is great, this includes all maps updated.

Its better than ever before 60fps for online is so smooth and the graphics were updated a lot looks really sharp nice colors extra campaign chapters that were only on pc

First off, the game looks amazing. The graphics really pop out even in local co-op. Everything is better than I remember it. Multiplayer got a needed update. Still plays like Gears 1 which some people may or may not like. Gears 3 is my favorite game all around so it took some time to get used to how multiplayer is different. All around great game! and the fact that you get all gears games later this year is more than enough reason to pick it up if you're a gears fan.

back when this game first came out for the xbox 360 it was the reason I got into gaming. so much different than your casual first person run and gun shooter this game requires so much more in terms of strategy and teamwork. now for them to remaster it and bring it to the xbox one is just such a great thing. beautiful graphics and the same addicting multiplayer with a little changes to make it better, this game is easily worth the 40 bucks they are asking

This game looks way better then the 2006 version. The story is great and the multiplayer is even better it you honestly can't go wrong with this game

Although I never played the original, I have fond memories of playing Horde mode on Gears of War 2 and 3. While buyers should be warned that Gears of War: Ultimate Edition does not include Horde Mode, as it wasn't in the original game, this game has very satisfying multiplayer that I have been addicted to for the last few weeks. And at only $40, this game is a great bargain. If you're into 3rd person shooters, this is one not to miss!

Everything was rebuilt from the ground up for this remaster but the feel of Gears is still here! The game looks gorgeous but has the occasional bug here & there that hopefully will be squashed soon. Nothing game breaking though! Multiplayer is a Gnasher fest for the most part, but so was the original. You'll either love it for what it is or hate it for what it is. Lastly, if you play on-line before the end of the year you'll get Gears 1-3 & Judgement day for free via Backwards Compatibility sometime around November, so that's a nice bonus!

Gears is back and looking better! Although the graphics are not as groundbreaking as it was originally back in 2006, it still looks great. I am a long time multiplayer player, and this gears is great online. Veterans will definitely be able to show their play skill while demolishing the enemy team. It has a high learning curve, which is what I love about it. Get this game if you like to wreck face online and be unstoppable.

I been a fan of GOW since day one. I don't care if it's a remake. It feels almost the same as the original and looks amazing. The campaign mode has been improved with new content, wich is refreshing. Some of the harder parts in campaign seemed much easier then original insane, could be just me. Multiplayer is Cleaned up, game play is much more fluid and seems most host powers eliminated. Great addition to XBONE for anyone.

The game was a nice addition to the Gears of War franchise. The graphics have been overhauled. The character models are updated to take advantage of the next gen console. The cutscenes have even been remastered. I enjoyed playing this release. My only complaint is the shotgun is incredibly inaccurate. You can be standing point blank and still miss. It's not as irritating during the campaign but it's very frustrating during multiplayer deathmatches. The shotgun defect is actively been worked on. Hopefully, the next patch resolves this.

Love the updated graphics and extra content. Multiplayer had been updated and is at it's best.

I have been a huge fan of GOW since the original came out for 360. This game is just like the original but better. There are more maps and the online multiplayer lobby is completely different. Instead of one person hosting a game there are now servers. Team deathmatch is now a playlist and it matches you with people instead of you joining a game being hosted by someone else. I could not be happier with tis game

This game is just so good it feels just like the old game but with a new twist on multiplayer the campaign is 30fps but it looks so good it does not matter multiplayer is 60fps however and has old and new players to pick from all pc content is included i did not see capture the leader which should of been introduced but it does have assassination and warzone good game all around if u love gears this is great!

Being a GOW fan I really enjoyed picking up this title for the Xbox One. The graphics are beautiful! You can really see the time and effort that went into the total revamp of the game that started a movement!! The only complaint is that it seemed shorter than I remembered even though it has additional levels. Could be because I played 3 hours straight when I brought it home, LMAO!!! Great game, can't wait until GOW 4 is released!! This is a must have for anyone who enjoys a amazing game graphics and a deep story!
