This is a great series. The game maker did a great job upscaling it to look amazing on the Xbox One. It has been a lot of fun playing through the campaign Co-op on the Insane level.. I will say that I'm not a big fan of Gears 1 multiplayer. It looks good and plays the same but with less lag. So, if you liked it back when it first came out, then you'll probably love it now. I have always thought the shotgun is way too powerful. Can't wait for Gears 3 backwards compatible later in the year for the multiplayer..

As a big fan of the franchise (at least up through the 3rd in the series), it was hard to resist bringing back old memories. This was the game that pulled me back into playing consoles. Multiplayer at 60fps does not disappoint, graphics and textures are nicely remastered. Too bad single player couldn't get the 60fps treatment though. This should hopefully get me through until GoW 4 comes out next year.

if your a GOW fan this is a must buy if you own a Xbox One. Although this is a remake it makes up with how well the graphics have enhanced and the new content that was only available on the PC version. It's a great game so I highly recommend it. This is a great way to get you back into Gears and a great introduction for any who has never played it. Awesome to have while waiting on GOW 4 2016 release.

This game is a classic. If you love the Gears series, you should love this as well. This is just Gears of War, remastered, for the Xbox One with a few differences. Campaign is good, but not great like Gears 2 and 3. Gameplay feels cleaner than it did on 360. Multiplayer is fun, but gets very infuriating at times due to inconsistency with weapon damage. Overall, fun game that is definitely worth $40!

Looks awesome and plays great with the updated graphics and 60fps. Also getting the exclusive PC levels was a bonus. Oh, and dont forget to play it online before 12/31/15 and you'll get the entire Gears series available as backwards compatible titles on your Xbox One. The bromance is back, and prettier than ever!

Gears of War was my first game that I ever played on Xbox 360 and the Gears of War Ultimate Edition is the first game I ever played on Xbox One. It brings back so much nostalgia. The game looks and feels amazing. The online multiplayer is where I spend most of my time. The dedicated servers are nearly flawless. If you're a fan of Gears get this game. If you're new to Gears get this game too.

I played and loved the original Gears of War and this remaster makes it like a whole new game. Graphics are EXTREMELY AMAZING and plus it has the extra content from the original PC version that 360 owners never got to play. I highly recommend this to any fan of GOW and shooters in general, especially since it's only $40 (and for you gamers club unlocked members, that deal gets even better).

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a faithful representation of what Gears of War 1 played like in 2006, almost to a fault. With so many games having come out and iterated on GoW's design elements, it's difficult to look back on the original and not notice some flaws. That being said, it is the definitive version of that experience, along with a revamped MP suite running at a rock-solid 60FPS. If you're a GoW fan looking to whet your appetite for Gears of War 4 next year, this is a no-brainer.

This is a must for any Gears fan! I've played countless hours in multiplayer, and the campaign with the added parts, make it an awesome experience! As of now the multiplayer is great no hiccups with connecting to live, smooth running and did I mention great graphics!! A total overhaul! Same frantic Gears gameplay, with really amazing graphics! For $40 bucks you really can't go wrong!!

Gears of War is a great game remastered for current gen consoles. Besides the orginal console content, it includes 5 missions that were exclsive to the PC release and 19 multiplayer maps all remastered to 1080p goodness. As a bonus, when Xbox One gains backward compatability this fall you'll be able to download GoW 2, GoW 3, & GoW Judgement free by owning this game. Well worth $40.

GoW UE is absolutely fantastic. I forgot how intense the original Gears was with its 4v4 and just a handful of weapons. While some prefer having more weapons and people available, I personally enjoy thos setup. I still love Gears 2 and 3 but as the saying goes, nothing beats the original. And it's just absolutely gorgeous on the One. Period. Gears has never looked better.

Must buy for the price Best Buy always sells its a must! You won't be disappointed with the rich graphics and smooth 60fps. Absouletly flawless and if you haven't played any other Gears of War game a bonus is added where Microsoft sends you codes for all old Gears games which you can play backwards compatible! Another bonus is that you get in the Gears of War 4 Beta

...of classic GOW! It's been a long time since we saw Marcus & co. since 360, and it was only a matter of time before a remake would be in the works. Well its here now, and so far it doesn't disappoint. New remastered cut scenes, new dodge/juke control and remastered graphics in 1080p/60fps make this version worth taking the trip down memory lane all over again. Multiplayer is still the same as you remember it, just looking a hell of a lot better than before. Have fun!

Late in the story of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Marcus Fenix kicks down the front door of his childhood home. He finds the wallpaper peeling, the furniture in disarray, and a fine layer of dust blanketing every surface. This return to a dilapidated family home is a poetic echo of the task at hand. Many members of developer The Coalition worked on the original 2006 Gears of War, and this remaster is the studio's first release before it launches Gears of War 4. And although it's created a faithful homage to the game that started it all, some of the furniture is still out of place, and the corners continue to gather dust. Gears of War: Ultimate Edition lets us cheat time, and travel back to 2006, when we first saw Fenix emerge from that shadowy prison cell. Because of the updated visuals, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition fills in cracks and polishes edges to preserve our ever-so-fragile nostalgia.

How can you lose with the first 3 releases of one of the greatest saga's ever including new content containing five campaign chapters never released before on Xbox. Even if you've started with release 4 as I have and until version 5 is released, you can do yourself a glorious favor (and wallet) to purchase this remastered Master!

The Gears of War Ultimate Edition was my most anticipated release since Gears of War Judgment which turned out to be one of the most disappointing games and worst shooters I have ever played. This game returned the franchise to what I enjoyed in Gears of War 1 and 2 while maintaining one of the favorable elements introduced in Gears of War 3 in Team Deathmatch. Team Deathmatch is a great introduction to the game, but the mode suffers from original maps lacking adequate respawn points that were clearly not designed to accommodate the game mode. Also, the game is very different from what we got in the Beta with bindfire shots being completely ineffective and maps from the Beta not included in the full game. In comparison to the original, the shotgun is completely different with headshots being possible from very long distances and downs being possible from much further than in the orignal game. Though active downs with the sniper rifle were removed, active reloads increase the power of both the shotgun and lancer drastically. This, along with how easy the sniper has been made to use, make the game very different to the original Gears of War released 10 years ago. As a competitive player, I do not see any sense in rankings that have no basis except for points and that game stats are not visible to other players as they were in the original. Despite these deviations from the original game, I still enjoy this remastering a great deal and would recommend to both fans of the franchise and those new to the series. However, it is important to know that this release is absolutely nothing like the beta and even more different from the original release of the game. This will be apparent to gamers who have played both.

Awesome graphics, game play and story. Glad I picked this one up.

This game is pretty sick. The graphics are well improved, and even though made several years ago, holds up to graphics in today's games with the reboot. Still in the process of the campaign so I haven't reached the new levels, but I'm really looking forward to the new content (for the consoles). I would recommend to any Gears fans out there for sure.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition is a great update to a game released in 2006. The game itself still feels like the original but the visuals have been greatly improved to show the power of the Xbox One. Being able to play this great game again with the features I've grown to love on the Xbox One is amazing. The game is definitely worth a purchase to anyone who has not played the original and to those who played it when it was originally released.
