This game brings me back when I first purchased my xbox 360 it was one of the first games I got for that console. The game is top notch with graphics, game handling on multiplayer is outstanding, fast pace but loading time is still a long wait in multiplayer other than that it's a true classic that all xbox one owners must have in your game collection

First off..the price. $40 for a remastered from the ground up visuals game plus all the Gears of War games comes free if you play before the end of the year. You just can't go wrong... I'm a die hard fan and this is probably my second favorite addition to the franchise. This is how the first one should be played. Must buy for any xbox one owner.

Microsoft (and developer The Coalition) did a fairly good job at getting the classic 360 game up to par with the XBox One. Single player is the same with a nicer coat of paint, but multiplayer has been updated to 60 fps (which will most likely throw you off the first time you try it) that makes everything a lot smoother. A great pickup if you love the Gears franchise, and a pretty solid intro for those who haven't. tried it before.

Roughly 10 years since its orginal release and my feelings towards gears hasn't changed. The 1080p and improved fps makes this classic absolutely stunning. There are a couple glitches throughout but those were also in the original. Also getting the subsequent gears titles later this year for free with this purchase is an added bonus.

I'm giving this 4 stars only because it seemed to me that I was getting all the previous GoW games mastered for xBox ONE. You should know that this is just the first GoW. I love this franchise and playing it on xBox ONE was a delight. Better graphics, smoother frame rate, and lots of restructured scenes, more than I thought there would be. New gameplay and new cut scenes gives this a level of excitement even for gamers that have played this game a dozen times on xBox 360, like I have. If you understand that you have only the first of 4 GoW games with this ultimate edition, and as new remastered games become available you've be able to download them for free, then you will love this edition. Had the other GoW games been ready to download when I bought this I would given this the 5 Stars and then some. Maybe unfairly I am deducting a star from a 5 star value because when it was over, it was over, no new game to play. Maybe it's me, maybe no one else thought they were going to get all 4 games. If that's so, well, then I'm a little "thick". Can't wait for the new game in the franchise. GoW is one of the best game franchises for xBox.

I was expecting a little ore out of this game. When they say "remaster" it pretty much means the same game just with visual and control upgrades. It was nostalgic and plays nicely. 60fps on multiplayer is butter smooth and the fact that you get Gears 2 & 3 when they are made available backwards compatible is pretty nice, as well as entry into the Gears of War 4 Beta. I guess it was worth the $40 in the end. :)

This game is a great romp down memory lane. The graphics update make it playable in today's realm of high end graphic intensive games. A few additions from the PC version and all the DLC round this release out to be a good package. My only gripe is that it easily could have all of the 360 games in it like the halo collection, but maybe this way we'll get higher quality updates to all of the other head games

This game is still fun 10 years after its initial release. The game has a improved graphics and sound but little else has been added to make it justifying a new purchase. The AI is still as bad as it was 10 years ago. If you want a Gears game to play on your Xbox One then this is your game but if you want something new to play you won't find it here. Still it is worth your time if you enjoyed the original.

A must play for anyone who hasn't played a Gears of War game. Out of all the Games in the series this one was the best in my opinion. The story was interesting and the combat was brutally fun. Multiplayer is just as fun as the campaign. The game also comes with all the dlc multiplayer maps from the original.

Gears of War is often bundled with them other Xbox One console bundles so it is often overlooked at a great game and I purchased it separately as it was a must have. If you're a gamer into WAR, this game gives you everything you expect and more. Look for the sales and pick this one up at a bargain price. It's not just another "bundled game"... it is "The Bundled Game you want!"

Just bought this game and it is a amazing! Graphics have been improved and game play has been improved also. This is getting my hyped up for Gears of War 4, hopefully it stays the same as this one. Any Gears of War fan looking to pick this up should, because it has been "remastered" to its finest.

Although I've just started the game on Xbox one, I can tell it is going to be great. Remastered graphics for the next gen. Console as well as 5 "never released" for the game console levels. I played the original on the 360 several play throughs. And multi player is sure to entertain for months!

It's hard to make a remastered game feel like a whole new game but this game managed to do that. I didn't go into it expecting a whole lot but as soon as I started playing it felt like I was playing an entirely new game. The graphics are amazing and the game controls and feels great!

If you've played the game before it's more or less the same, but the remaster has made the graphics look incredible. The only reason I took off a star was because of the somewhat janky controls. I never liked how running, cover, and jumping over cover are all tied to the A button, and it makes the game seem a little dated. Overall a great game, though.

I loved this game the first time around, the second time through was even better thanks to updated visuals most noticeable on the secondary characters and especially the cut scenes. AI had some problems here and there, but overall a very solid game and can't beat the price.

The original Gears of War on the Xbox 360 was a homerun hit game and made this "middle aged" man a gamer ... replaying this title on the Xbox One has been nothing but enjoyable ... purchased to get me ready for the Gears of War 4 launch!!!! The price point isn't bad either

It's the classic you remember with enhanced graphics and smoother game play. They didn't change the speed, aim, etc. though so it feels just like you're playing the first one just more visually captivating. I was a huge fan of the first Gears so this is perfect for me.

This is a game that you don't mind paying for just a remake. The upgraded graphics and retouched cut scenes make this a refreshing part of the gears franchise. Great single player and multiplayer has great added content. Perfect for fans of the franchise new and old.

I was glad to see this was remastered. This is one of the best first person shooters of all time and it still is. It has some new multiplayer options. Any negative reviews are from fanboys, so pay no attention to them. BTW I own all current gen consoles.

The Coalition did a great job with this remaster. The visual s are a huge upgrade over the original 360 version. The addition of the party system and 5 new chapters in the campaign make it worth going back to Gears. Plus you can't argue with the price point.
