    not great because its a little slow i think that is the G2 , also makes a little sound when moving camera.

All of our devices are designed to work for 2.4 GHz networks primarily due to wider range because 5 GHz that cannot penetrate through walls and floors. Since most routers nowadays are dual-band, we can ask your Internet Service Provider to separate the two networks (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) for them to have different SSID so you can connect your device to 2.4 GHz networks and connecting your camera using QR code.     Very good in home security camera. It can be hard to restart if power goes out, but there customer service is pretty good.

    Very loud announcing to would-be burglars I am hear, watching you. I could never get the App to Sync with the device. I never got any use from it. It was a waste of $50!!! I waited to long to try to use it to return it.

    Would've been nice if they stated on the Specifications page that it only works with 2.4GHz wifi. This is useless to me.

The 2.4 GHz band provides coverage at a wider range and 5 GHz band provides less coverage because it cannot penetrate solid objects, such as walls and floors.     I have other geeni cameras and wanted the dome. It hooked right up and worked great that night but next day only that camera was saying offline and would not reconnect. Tried to delete and readd and didn't work

To resolve the issue, you will need to remove your camera from the Geeni app and press and hold the reset button on the side of the camera until it starts beeping. Once the indicator light starts blinking, it means that the camera has been reset. After that, you can add it back to the Geeni app. Just ensure that you are connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network as Geeni cannot connect to 5GHz networks.     Works great for me watching my dog

    I've had this camera about a month. Has a great clear picture and a surprisingly great picture in the dark. Moving the camera with your phone is a little slow and cumbersome, but not impossible. I've had no problem with the genie app on my phone. Great deal for the price.

    Geeni Software is Disfunctional

    Software for this camera is not tried and true. A 3/4 hr. chat was a waste of time, concluding that "the software is always being updated". (But, you can see a live image, if that's all you want.) Our chat was like I was a Guinea pig for the product. Further, the motion detection records solid black images , ONLY, and nothing appears on the SD card. That's only one of my issues with the software. And Geeni has no idea about a fix timeline, nor a product replacement. Buy another brand, in my opinion.

    At the time of this review, I bought this for $44 and I can't complain much. Like other reviews on this page, we use it to watch our puppy at home. I'm going to buy another one to put in another part of my house. Only thing that I don't like about this is the mic and speak function. It doesn't quite work as well like some of the higher end cameras.

    Geeni goes offline

    Someone reset the modem and Geeni won’t come back online. This is not a good function for a security camera to have. Wont buy another.

      Hello! I can totally feel your frustration about what happened. We would love to discuss this with you so we can check what would be the problem. There are several reasons why the device suddenly stops working or offline. The most common reasons are having an intermittent or no internet connection, power surge and changes in router settings (ex. change Wi-Fi name or password) where the device is connected. Please note that (depends on the Plan that you have with your Internet Service Provider) the more devices connect wired and wireless to your network, the higher chance of having an intermittent or slow to no internet connection. Ideally, the device should be within 15 feet away from the router. Considering that it would penetrate walls, mirrors and other devices. To refresh the connection, just remove the device to the Geeni app, reset the Geeni product and set up again.     Disgusted - privacy and security concerns

    After buying this camera roughly 6 months ago today was the second time the red lights have turned on and the camera has moved without myself or my girlfriend being on the app and no one else having access. She heard the clicking noise it makes when it moves, then stared at it for a second, and the lights went off and it stopped moving. Clearly something is not right here. Regret buying and will not use any longer. I thought once was a fluke but this is ridiculous, especially when security and privacy are many people’s, including myself, primary concerns with these WiFi cameras. Will be contacting Geeni about this but DO NOT BUY.

    No sound from phone to camera

    I like how it looks and for what I need it for video wise it’s nice. However, a bit disappointed that I couldn’t get the sound to work from the phone app (updates to latest version) to the camera output. The speaker was not blocked or anything because when rebooting the camera you hear all jingles and stuff. Anyway, I can at least hear what’s going on remotely but was really hoping to get the other way around to work as well.
