This is a great collection of genesis games, could have used a few more sonic games like sonic and knuckles but there are a ton of great alternatives and this comes with 2 controllers in the box and you can get other 6 button controllers to use with it to

A good alternative to buying an actual Genesis

The base library is pretty good, some missing entries that may bother people as is normally the case. But if you're motivated to find ways to fix that, you can have everything you want from the system. The d-pads on the controllers leave something to be desired, and I had to take off points for that. Maybe they were always that way, but they annoy me now 20+ years later with their not so great precision. It's important to note that the Genesis later sold 6 button controllers, and you're NOT getting these here. You'll need to buy them separately. You get the 3 button controllers which 1st released with the system. And if you play any game that requires 6 buttons, you'll want them. For example, SF2 has you alternate between punches and kicks with the Start button on the controller-if you use 3 button controllers. If that sounds ridiculous to you, buy the 6 button controllers. The controller cords are also too short, just like all the other classic retro systems these days. Unless you want to sit in front of the TV, extensions are a must. If you already have extension cords for the PS classic controllers, they'll work on this too though. You'll have save states, but no rewind feature if you mess up-which is slowly becoming a thing now with retro games. If you're old school I'd recommend it. Younger players will probably say they can play all of these games via other ways online, and probably won't care much for it.

This is what the Ps Classic should of been. A great emulated system with amazing build quality. This thing comes jammed packed with classics that you'd never think you had missed. Highly recommend it and also grab a turbo controller for SF (Street Fighter)

I bought this system in December when it went on sale and I am thrilled with this purchase! The game selection is a nice mix of popular games and those few that never received much attention. I've been religiously playing games like Sonic again after 20+ years! Styder and Golden Axe are fantastic throwbacks too. This system is less than $50 and well worth every penny. Highly recommended.

Bought this as a gift for my brother, ended up buying one for myself too. Excellent implementation of the classic Sega Genesis console. Compact, comes with all needed parts (unlike some other retro consoles). Price point is right. Highly recommend.

If you loved the SEGA GENESIS and want to play 42 excellent games on a modern TV this is a must own! Games play great and it comes with 2 controllers! My kids are loving GOLDEN AXE and ROADRASH 2!! I have been enjoying Shinobi 3 and Strider again!

Connects via HDMI, the included games are great but missing some of the classics, very tiny console I can tuck away when not in use. Definitely worth every penny! I saw there's a hack to get all the games but have not tried it yet.

This is by far the best retro mini console released to date. Great value with 42 games and now you can hack them to add more games. Controllers are good. System looks great. This system was a Big hit at my super bowl party with the kids.

Overall, what I wanted from the Sega Genesis Mini

Sega seemingly took some care in presenting the Sega Genesis Mini. As somebody who still has their Sega Genesis (and Sega CD) connected to the TV even in 2019, it neat to see the old system get some modern love. It looks just like the original Genesis, even the goofy volume switch is there and movable. The cartridge spot even opens, although no actual cart would fit in there! The controllers are aesthetically no different, though I did notice some random double clicking from a single tap while in the Genesis game selection menu. Would prefer 6 button and wireless controllers since my TV sits 15ft away from the screen. Unlike the Neo Geo Mini, everything you need is in the box! The game selection is decent, though nothing outstanding. There's certainly some classics in there, but I feel like they should have added more. For example, I feel like the original Road Rash should be in there, but it's not. The system settings are pretty simple. Language selection, background selection, and the option to stretch the game to fit 16:9 screens, but I don't understand why anyone would want that. No CRT filters or anything like that seen in some other mini consoles. Hopefully (but unlikely) Sega will release a mini version of the Master System, Sega CD, and Dreamcast. But the Saturn can burn! Fortunately for me, I still have all of my old consoles (Saturn included.)

This is one of those retro "Mini" style systems that game companies have been releasing these past few years. This one is made by Sega themselves so this is quality stuff! Has some of the best Genesis games from the past and two controllers!

Lots of fun at a great price point. Comes with two 3 button controllers, a great value, though picking up a couple of the 6 button controllers isnt a bad idea. The absolute best way to replay Green Hill zone over and over.

I grew up having the original Sega Genesis as well as several other consoles. This is a great, fun, replacement of the original. Great games, original style controllers, and connection to modern TV's. Great purchase!

Great console of nostalgia. I think the SNES has got a slight edge, but that might be because I like the Nintendo games a little more. Works just like the original and the controllers finish the experience. Great buy!

One of the best mini consoles. Great hardware. Controllers have a nice feel. Original 3 button vs 6 but does the job. Great selection of games and the emulation works well. Must buy for the collection.

What a great little system and awesome value. Love the controllers and excellent selection of games. We have the Sega classic collection for the PS4 but it’s so much more an authentic and nostalgic experience with the mini.

This is better quality than the NES mini and far more game choices. My son loves to play sonic after seeing the movie. Great that it has Tetris as well. Two thumbs up and glad to see Sega making a comeback.

Just as I remembered it from back in the day. Expansive game selection, terrific emulation. Like most mini consoles, it’s primarily about nostalgia, but I’ll probably end up playing a handful of these til the end.

Great games, great UI, great controllers. Controller cables are pretty long (compared to the NES mini) so you can sit reasonably far back on a couch. Totally scratches that nostalgia itch. Would buy again.
