Replacing a Razer Blade 16 i9 32gb memory with a RTX 4080, this has been a great replacement. It runs fast and a who lot quieter!

Initially pretty excited to get something decent for so cheap, and don't get me wrong, it's decently powerful, but I didn't get to play any games on it because I did not like the appearance at all. I know it's nice and cheap, but if I'm going to be buying a laptop that I'll be using for the next few years, I want something that looks nicer than this. The trackpad is huge, lots of empty space on the keyboard, no numpad, and the screen is more square than it is rectangular. Rectangles is what you want in a screen, yeah, overall the specs are cool, but I'd like it if it were my stylish, if you like that though then the 5070 version is definitely for you, it's worth it to shell out another couple hundred dollars for something so much better. Also Co-Pilot sucks hahahah.

A solid choice for portability and performance

Verdict: The Gigabyte AERO X16 is the ideal travel companion for work and play. Thin, light, with a fairly large screen and great specs, it’s easy to carry and perform at home or on the road. This laptop will fit the needs of most users who want both portability and performance (gaming and graphic) at decent value. I have a better gaming laptop, but frankly… I have zero interest to travel with it because of its size and weight. I plan to travel with the AERO X16!
First impressions. It’s thin and it’s light, and that’s impressive given the included specs. The 16” screen is perfect because it’s as big as you can easily fit a laptop into any backpack. The laptop looks sleek, with a very thin screen, thin bezels, super flat keyboard, nice branding, and appealing color. The trackpad is large and works well. I don’t love the keyboard action – it feels stiff – but that’s just personal preference. Backlit keys are nice, but pretty standard for gaming laptops. The cooling structure looks adequate, but this is something I will pay attention to… many of these super-thin do-it-all machines tend to overheat.
Specs. The spec package is quite nice and complimentary. The AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 is fast and very capable. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 can handle most graphic requirements from current games, and includes 8GB of DDR7. 1TB of storage is fine for most people, but it’s probably not enough for serious gamers… The average game download is above ~100GB each. Memory is expandable to 4TB. The 32GB of DDR5 RAM match the rest of the great specs on this computer to maximize heavy multitasking and gaming. RAM is upgradable to 64GB. The 3k screen produces fantastic resolution and vibrant colors; I am completely happy with it. I appreciate the onboard AI capability and am starting to rely on it more and more.
Performance. Gameplay has been very enjoyable thus far. Spending time on Hogwartz Legacy and Horizon Forbidden West, both games played smoothly on high-settings with 80-95 FPS. In gameplay, the laptop has managed the heat quite well, especially for a laptop this thin, albeit with fan noise. For day-to-day tasks, this laptop just crushes multitasking, endless open browser tabs, light video and graphics editing, and Office-type programs, while staying very quiet.
Things I love:
- AMD Ryzen 7 AI is a solid chip
- 3K resolution; I am happy with that, I don’t need 4k at this size
- 165hz refresh rate for superior visuals
- 1TB SSD provides fast startup and zippy operations, but may not be enough for serious gamers
- Very happy about the 32GB of DDR5 RAM
- Large and responsive touchpad
- Webcam is compatible with Windows Hello, making for convenient login, and works well
- RTX5060 is a solid graphics card for high-end gaming on most current titles; includes 8GB of dedicated RAM
- MUX switch for better battery management when you don’t need dedicated GPU support
- Quiet fans on everyday tasks, and laptop stays cool when gaming (with some fan noise)
- I appreciate the 35mm port for easily listening when traveling
- Decent-enough speakers for everyday use and portable gaming, but nothing special
- Gi-Mate button is great for quick setting adjustments – really convenient; worth trying out for everyone who buys this laptop
Things I don’t love:
- Only one USB-C… not ideal nowadays; replace the USB-A 2.0 with another UBC-C
- And/or replace the proprietary round power input with a USB-C
- The webcam does not have a privacy shutter; a must have in my opinion given the amount of web-conferencing many people do
- The hinges look a bit fragile, but time will tell
Overall, I am very happy with this laptop. Gigabyte delivered a compelling package at a very good value for the money. It’s a solid choice for portability and performance. I love it!

The Gigabyte Aero X16 Copilot+ PC is a slim, yet powerful laptop with creative and gaming purposes in mind. Its slim, rugged aluminum body is both stylish and portable. The 16-inch 4K display has vibrant colors and sharp details, ideal for graphic designing, video editing, and gaming.
It is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, which provide smooth performance for demanding tasks and games. It has 32GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD, which allow it to multitask and boot quickly. The keyboard is tactile with single-zone RGB backlighting, and the big touchpad is accurate and silky-smooth.
Ports include USB-C with power delivery, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and more—along with Wi-Fi 6E for fast wireless connection. Its one disadvantage is its average battery life under load, so it's not as well positioned for extended unplugged use. Aside from the weight, the Aero X16 offers an great combination of power, image quality, and portability for creative pros. A solid must have.

An Attractive Hybrid

[PROS]
Considerate Specs: The X16 stood out immediately to me with the display resolution and RAM. Viewing media content was very sharp, and I was able to multitask effectively without issue. Additionally, the Dolby Atmos implementation sounded well for a laptop, and I was also very pleased with how quickly I was able to redownload parts of my Steam library through the Wi-Fi 6 antenna.
Build Quality: The laptop is light without sacrificing quality. After owning three other gaming laptops, this one was surprisingly the thinnest. It fits easily into my laptop bag and backpack.
Effective Heat Dissipation: While gaming, the laptop didn't have any problematic hotspots. In the past, I've dealt with gaming laptops being extremely warm in the front portion of the lower panel. Fortunately, the X16 only got slightly warm to the touch in that same area, but not hot.
GiMate: I'm breaking an unwritten tech law by actually admitting that a manufacturer's utility software is actually competent. The GiMate app isn't bulky or hard to understand. I was able to easily toggle modes and fan settings without feeling overwhelmed or confused. It also included a few nifty AI features that I was able to experiment with as well.
Great Performance*: Gaming on this device is awesome with compatible titles (the reason for the asterisk). Outside of older titles, this laptop is best suited for games with DLSS support, specifically versions 3 and 4. I know that Frame Generation consists of fake frames, however, I'm barely able to tell a difference in image quality and input latency in some instances.
[CONS]
Loud Gaming: This is not a surprise given the nature of gaming laptops, but this thing can get loud. Yet, its understandable due to its small form factor.
TB Limit: While glossing at specifications, I noticed that the laptop tops out at 4TBs. Four terabytes is a lot of space, but it infringes on my need to utilize this laptop for productivity purposes (large files), and for containing my hefty gaming library (50+ games).
[MIXED BAG]
It's Still a 5060: We've reached the stage where 8GB of VRAM is not enough to enjoy modern games, especially above 1080p. However, the primary reason for investing in any Nvidia GPU is for their upscaling technologies which still reign supreme. I ran out memory while trying to find the best preset for Forza Horizon 5. The benchmark mode recommended the Extreme mode after displaying fps above 90 consistently. I applied this setting along with DLSS Quality, and was thrown an error 2 minutes into true gameplay. I dialed back the configurations to "High" (2 notches below Extreme), and didn't run into any further issues. For me, I was still pleased with the overall visual presentation, and gameplay remained smooth. Yet, other games could prove be more challenging to find the best blend of fidelity and frames.
[CONCLUSION]
The AERO X16 is designed for the person who games and likes to create. I'm both which is why it works for me. It performs very well on reasonably, optimized AAA titles, but does leave more be desired since it only contains 8 GBs of VRAM. But the beefy specs and other features help make up for the GPU shortcomings. Overall, I enjoy using the laptop and look forward to more playtime with it.

Overall:
I was pleasantly surprised by this computer. The computer didn’t scream, “LOOK AT ME! I AM A GAMER” and I quite like that. It was able to handle everything I threw at it with ease. Cooling noise was a bit louder than I was expecting, but that only occurred during longer gaming sessions.
Review:
I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I haven’t had a computer with an AMD processor before. I have been an Intel boy since… forever? I was afraid that I would be regretting my decision of going with this computer just because of the much outdated tropes of AMD being able to heat a 2,000 sqft home. Thankfully my experience was not that. The computer ran cool considering the workload I was putting it through.
Speaking about that workload, I had the chance to play a few games with this computer while on various family vacations. I assumed that since I wasn’t playing on my desktop that I would need to set my expectations low. I was surprised that I was able to play games like Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy VII Remake without making graphical sacrifices. I don’t think that either game is really known to be too stressful for modern computers, but compared to my aging Intel I7 8700k these games ran great! A big thanks to the NVIDIA RTX 5060 in conjunction with the 165Hz display I was able to game just as I would at home.
The IPS display outputs 2560 x 1600 WQXGA (Wide Quad Extended Graphics Array) which makes everything look so crisp. I am not even just talking gaming. Text is so much clearer than the 1080p laptops and monitors I have had in the past . I haven’t tried pairing this to an external monitor, but the computer does support HDMI 2.1 and Display 1.4 for higher resolutions and faster frame rates.
The overall construction of this computer is superb. I really liked that this computer wasn't super flashy. While there is RGB lighting, it can be turned off. I was also really surprised that this computer was thin as it was. I think that played into the cooling noise mentioned in the beginning of this review. There is a compromise when trying to make computers thinner and it is usually cooling. In order to keep the temperatures low the fan would need to spin at a higher rate of speed. This would result in cooling noise.
I think this computer is great. It handled everything I threw at it. I could see this being a great compromise for parents/guardians who are shopping for new college student. This computer ticks off all the boxes. It has good battery life. The screen is great for watching show or web conferencing. It isn't too massive to be used in your lap. This computer handles everything college will require of you for all majors. It's a great choice for many different use cases.

So I received my Gigabyte AERO X16 Gaming Laptop a few days ago and have been putting it through its paces. Now I must admit, I've never heard of the brand before. So not knowing them meant taking a chance on swiping this laptop and hoping for the best. Well I'm glad I did give this brand a chance because I've been on this gaming laptop every day since I got it. Now over the last few years I've come across a few laptops that called themselves gaming laptops and they were so-so. Sometimes they'd overheat to the point where they'd shutdown until they cooled off. Then comes along this Gigabyte AERO X16, 16" gaming laptop with 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Plus it looked incredibly thin but with a large screen, so I knew I had to jump on the chance of getting one of these bad-boys. First off, I love the size of this beast. My other gaming & non-gaming laptops are all 14" size. The big beautiful 16" screen was an automatic point for me. This laptop comes in a very sleek and clean form factor. From the widescreen to the illuminated RGB keyboard, this laptop is designed in a very elegant way. The RGB lighting can be controlled to your liking via the GiMate app The app also allows other system settings tweaks to your liking as well. The left side of the laptop features the power port, HDMI port, USB-A, and a USB-C port. The right side features 2 additional USB ports and a headphone port. On both sides as well as the back, are vents to allow proper ventilation and cooling while gaming. After completing the initial setup, I loaded up one of my go-to racing games and was amazed how well it handled the game. The graphics were very impressive and smooth, with the sound quality having an equally richness to it that was simply amazing. That's thanks to all of the specs packed into this beast: from the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor to the 32GB Ram and 1 TB SSD and the 5060 Nvidia RTX graphics card. I've been using this almost non-stop and can't find anything about it that I don't' like. Like its amazing for gaming and just as good when I stop to get some work done. Aside from the power this thing has, it also comes with an amazing battery life. Now this doesn't have the best screen like OLED that's starting to become a little more come common, but it was decent for me. I really like the full screen. Almost forgot, the battery life on this laptop has been amazing. There wasn't anything that I threw at this laptop over the last few days that it couldn't handle.

I've had multiple gaming computers/laptops ranging from Alienware, Asus Rog, etc. Prior to my review, I was completely unaware of GIGABYTE gaming laptops. So, I thought this would be a great opportunity to gove GIGABYTE a try.
I must be honest I read some reviews online about the brand and was a bit skeptical at first. It seemed like it was a not so popluar brand amongst the gaming enthusiasts. So, I didn't know what to expect, but I was hoping the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 would be good enough. Especially for the price point of the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 .
When I first received the GIGABYTE - AERO X16, I was surprised at how light the box was. Not only that, but I was also surprised at how slim the box was. I am used to gaming laptops being big and bulky.
The packaging is nothing special. At least nothing like Rog or any other popular gaming laptop brand. But I must say that the laptop itself does come well protected all the way around. But the laptop itself has a nice sleek appearance, is lightweight, and the large display is ALWAYS a must for ANY gaming laptop. You get multiple port connections, including and HDMI port, just like almost any other gaming laptop.
For the good part: the "gaming" part of the laptop. Starting with something that I really don't like about the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 is the keyboard. I feel like it takes too much finger pressure to get a good reaction time. The second improvement that this laptop needs, especially for this prive point, is the display. For the money, you should really be getting an OLED display. Aside from these two things, the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 performors really well under intense graphic demanding games. I've been using the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 for pure gaming the last three days, and I must admit that it is holding up really well.
Now for something that is extremely important for anyone...battery life. The claim is 14 hour battery life. This is most likely under very restrictive power save options, which is good for normal laptop use. But for gaming, the battery life is depleted at a slightly faster rate. You still get significantly better battery life than other gaming laptops I own, so that is a big plus for me.
Overall, the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 has performed much betterthan I anticipated. Don't let the brand reviews fool you. Something has changed within GIGABYTE, and that change appears to be for the better.
I would definitely consider this brand to anyone looking for a solid gaming computer. Especially the GIGABYTE - AERO X16.

GIGABYTE - AERO X16 1VH93USC64AH - Copilot+ PC - 16" 2560×1600 WQXGA AMD Ryzen Al 7 350 - 1TB SSD - 32GB DDR5 RAM GeForce RTX 5060 - Space Grey
My first impression of the GIGABYTE AERO X16 Copilot+ PC is that it's sleek, thin (only .65 inches), and light (only 4 pounds) with beveled edges which makes it very atrractive. The large 16 inch screen makes a great display size. The overall style definitely caters to a gamer. I like how portable this will be between work, school, friends and trips.
The GIGABYTE AERO X 16 Copiot + PC has some great features. It is nice that there are tons of ports- 1 USB-C and 3 USB-A, HDMI, ethernet and headphone jack, it makes it versatile. There is a built in ethernet port that enables up to 40Gbps bandwidth to have the fastest and most reliable connection, which is extremely important when gaming. The gameplay response time so far has been low so it feels very high end. Along with the heat venting on the sides of the chassis, there is a great cooling system WINDFORCE Infinity Cooling System built in that has 2 fans to keep it cool. They are fairly quiet with a little noise and are adaptively run with the help of GIGABYTE GIMAT, the smart AI assistant. The sound quality is good. With the Dolby Atmos the speakers produce clear sound if you want to stream movies or listen to music. The keyboard feels good with the Golden Curve Keyboard. The RGB backlighting looks good. It's comfortable and not loud.
The Windows 11 and Copilot+ allow you for a better experience with faster performance to game, increase productivity and be entertained. It's powered by AMD Ryzen AI processors and 2560x1600 165Hz Display. The graphics are powered by NVIDIA Blackwell, GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs. The refresh rate is 165 hertz, which is above average. The 32 GB DDR5 RAM and 1 TB SSD is a fair amount.
I'm excited to keep using the GIGABYTW AERO X16 Copilot+PC and explore all of it's potential in entertainment and productivity. It's been solid performer so far.

Good Laptop with AI and Gaming Abilities

The new Gigabyte Aero X16 with RTX 5060 is a good, mid-range laptop with some gaming ambitions. The AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 is a solid performer and brings a great balance of performance and battery life. It is coupled to 32GB of RAM which means this machine has some legs for long term use. Windows 11 and Copilot really need 32GB of RAM to operate without real hiccups.
The RTX 5060 is the question mark for me. It is a solid choice if you are casual gaming or willing to settle for reduced settings to play natively at 2560x1600. Yes, it has all of the DLSS 4 and frame generation enhancements and that will definitely get you some great frame rates for most titles today, but long term I am not sure what this looks like. I would find myself stretching my budget a little to go for the Aero X16 equipped with the RTX 5070. No, it isn't night and day performance difference, but it does afford a little more breathing room for the future.
The 16" IPS display is pretty good, but I did notice some flashlighting in spots around the bezel. As OLED becomes more and more common in laptops it is becoming harder to accept LCD flaws like that and especially at this price. That said color is great and it is a 165hz screen to keep things smooth no matter what you are doing.
Build quality is very good and I have not experienced any weird connectivity issues with it which is always nice. Do note, that it took about two hours to get the machine completely updated out of the box so factor that in when setting it up.
Battery life is pretty average in this segment. I see about 8-10 hours with basic activities like web browsing and Office use. Gaming, well, you might want to keep it plugged in.
Overall, it is a good machine with some AI chops and dreams of gaming. I would put the Gigabyte on my short list as it is a respectable brand and a solid machine. If you are more serious about gaming consider looking at the higher spec'd model for a touch more.

Excellent Gaming/Productivity Hybrid

The X16 is an interesting beast - straddling the lines between a high-powered flashy gaming laptop and a high-powered practical productivity machine. While there seem to be more and more of these stealth gaming machines being put out each year, many do unfortunately end up proving the old adage that a jack of all trades is a master of none. The Aero X16 manages to maintain the balance a bit more deftly than many of its competitors though - making it a solid choice for anyone looking for a daily driver that can do it all without forcing them to compromise too much on their experience.
As Gigabyte is more commonly known for their gaming gear, I'll start by discussing its performing as a machine for fun. The X16 features a powerful Ryzen CPU and tons of RAM, but the RTX5060 it comes with is definitely in the lower range of what you'd want for a fast WQXGA panel and does drag benchmarks down somewhat, placing it overall in the lower mid-tier category for performance. While some may be put off by that I think that's actually a pretty decent place to aim for with a machine this lightweight, as it means it still has the battery capacity to function effectively as a portable unit where many more powerful machines end up being effectively tied down to a desk. All the modern titles I played on it ran great at high settings (albeit a few definitely had to rely on dynamic upscaling to drive the screen at an acceptable framerate) so it seems like it should be a few years at least before it starts running into games beefy enough to start giving it problems. And it definitely gains extra points for having a battery big enough to last you on a long plane ride - though if you're smart you'll want to stick to the integrated graphics on the CPU as the 5060 will cut your battery life in half the moment it spins up.
What really surprised me though was how well the machine worked for productivity tasks as well. The 16:10 aspect ratio for the screen is great for design, coding, and word processing work. It also comes preloaded with Studio drivers for the dGPU - which tend to be a bit more stable and are the preferred choice for designers & video editors. These can be swapped out for the more gaming focused versions very easily, which will generally result in a slight performance boost in the latest gaming titles, but for most use cases this probably isn't going to be necessary. It's also got the latest AI coprocessor built into the CPU allowing it to make use of Microsoft's full suite of Copilot+ tools, should you wish to go that route. I'm not sure it would be my top pick for graphic design work - it's getting very hard to justify anything that doesn't have a color validated OLED screen for that at this point - but for pretty much everything else it looks like a great pick.
It does have a couple of downsides worth mentioning. The frame is a little more flexible than I'd like with a machine this large and thin, so if you're planning to throw it in a backpack or a messenger bag you'll definitely want to make sure it's got some kind of protection from anything else that might be in there. And the keyboard can definitely get a little uncomfortable over prolonged use, probably due to a mix of the very flat keycaps and essentially nonexistent elevation angle when placed on a table. But, despite this, I'd still say it's one of the better all-rounders I've tried. This makes it an easy recommendation for college students, young professionals, or anyone else in the market for a machine that can do everything.
