Customers highly value the AERO X16 for its premium build quality and portability, making it suitable for both gaming and general use. The laptop also receives positive feedback for its battery life and fast processor speed. However, some users have noted that the fan noise can be quite loud.

Replacing a Razer Blade 16 i9 32gb memory with a RTX 4080, this has been a great replacement. It runs fast and a who lot quieter!

Initially pretty excited to get something decent for so cheap, and don't get me wrong, it's decently powerful, but I didn't get to play any games on it because I did not like the appearance at all. I know it's nice and cheap, but if I'm going to be buying a laptop that I'll be using for the next few years, I want something that looks nicer than this. The trackpad is huge, lots of empty space on the keyboard, no numpad, and the screen is more square than it is rectangular. Rectangles is what you want in a screen, yeah, overall the specs are cool, but I'd like it if it were my stylish, if you like that though then the 5070 version is definitely for you, it's worth it to shell out another couple hundred dollars for something so much better. Also Co-Pilot sucks hahahah.

A solid choice for portability and performance

Verdict: The Gigabyte AERO X16 is the ideal travel companion for work and play. Thin, light, with a fairly large screen and great specs, it’s easy to carry and perform at home or on the road. This laptop will fit the needs of most users who want both portability and performance (gaming and graphic) at decent value. I have a better gaming laptop, but frankly… I have zero interest to travel with it because of its size and weight. I plan to travel with the AERO X16!
First impressions. It’s thin and it’s light, and that’s impressive given the included specs. The 16” screen is perfect because it’s as big as you can easily fit a laptop into any backpack. The laptop looks sleek, with a very thin screen, thin bezels, super flat keyboard, nice branding, and appealing color. The trackpad is large and works well. I don’t love the keyboard action – it feels stiff – but that’s just personal preference. Backlit keys are nice, but pretty standard for gaming laptops. The cooling structure looks adequate, but this is something I will pay attention to… many of these super-thin do-it-all machines tend to overheat.
Specs. The spec package is quite nice and complimentary. The AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 is fast and very capable. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 can handle most graphic requirements from current games, and includes 8GB of DDR7. 1TB of storage is fine for most people, but it’s probably not enough for serious gamers… The average game download is above ~100GB each. Memory is expandable to 4TB. The 32GB of DDR5 RAM match the rest of the great specs on this computer to maximize heavy multitasking and gaming. RAM is upgradable to 64GB. The 3k screen produces fantastic resolution and vibrant colors; I am completely happy with it. I appreciate the onboard AI capability and am starting to rely on it more and more.
Performance. Gameplay has been very enjoyable thus far. Spending time on Hogwartz Legacy and Horizon Forbidden West, both games played smoothly on high-settings with 80-95 FPS. In gameplay, the laptop has managed the heat quite well, especially for a laptop this thin, albeit with fan noise. For day-to-day tasks, this laptop just crushes multitasking, endless open browser tabs, light video and graphics editing, and Office-type programs, while staying very quiet.
Things I love:
- AMD Ryzen 7 AI is a solid chip
- 3K resolution; I am happy with that, I don’t need 4k at this size
- 165hz refresh rate for superior visuals
- 1TB SSD provides fast startup and zippy operations, but may not be enough for serious gamers
- Very happy about the 32GB of DDR5 RAM
- Large and responsive touchpad
- Webcam is compatible with Windows Hello, making for convenient login, and works well
- RTX5060 is a solid graphics card for high-end gaming on most current titles; includes 8GB of dedicated RAM
- MUX switch for better battery management when you don’t need dedicated GPU support
- Quiet fans on everyday tasks, and laptop stays cool when gaming (with some fan noise)
- I appreciate the 35mm port for easily listening when traveling
- Decent-enough speakers for everyday use and portable gaming, but nothing special
- Gi-Mate button is great for quick setting adjustments – really convenient; worth trying out for everyone who buys this laptop
Things I don’t love:
- Only one USB-C… not ideal nowadays; replace the USB-A 2.0 with another UBC-C
- And/or replace the proprietary round power input with a USB-C
- The webcam does not have a privacy shutter; a must have in my opinion given the amount of web-conferencing many people do
- The hinges look a bit fragile, but time will tell
Overall, I am very happy with this laptop. Gigabyte delivered a compelling package at a very good value for the money. It’s a solid choice for portability and performance. I love it!

The Gigabyte Aero X16 Copilot+ PC is a slim, yet powerful laptop with creative and gaming purposes in mind. Its slim, rugged aluminum body is both stylish and portable. The 16-inch 4K display has vibrant colors and sharp details, ideal for graphic designing, video editing, and gaming.
It is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 GPU, which provide smooth performance for demanding tasks and games. It has 32GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD, which allow it to multitask and boot quickly. The keyboard is tactile with single-zone RGB backlighting, and the big touchpad is accurate and silky-smooth.
Ports include USB-C with power delivery, HDMI 2.1, USB-A, and more—along with Wi-Fi 6E for fast wireless connection. Its one disadvantage is its average battery life under load, so it's not as well positioned for extended unplugged use. Aside from the weight, the Aero X16 offers an great combination of power, image quality, and portability for creative pros. A solid must have.

An Attractive Hybrid

[PROS]
Considerate Specs: The X16 stood out immediately to me with the display resolution and RAM. Viewing media content was very sharp, and I was able to multitask effectively without issue. Additionally, the Dolby Atmos implementation sounded well for a laptop, and I was also very pleased with how quickly I was able to redownload parts of my Steam library through the Wi-Fi 6 antenna.
Build Quality: The laptop is light without sacrificing quality. After owning three other gaming laptops, this one was surprisingly the thinnest. It fits easily into my laptop bag and backpack.
Effective Heat Dissipation: While gaming, the laptop didn't have any problematic hotspots. In the past, I've dealt with gaming laptops being extremely warm in the front portion of the lower panel. Fortunately, the X16 only got slightly warm to the touch in that same area, but not hot.
GiMate: I'm breaking an unwritten tech law by actually admitting that a manufacturer's utility software is actually competent. The GiMate app isn't bulky or hard to understand. I was able to easily toggle modes and fan settings without feeling overwhelmed or confused. It also included a few nifty AI features that I was able to experiment with as well.
Great Performance*: Gaming on this device is awesome with compatible titles (the reason for the asterisk). Outside of older titles, this laptop is best suited for games with DLSS support, specifically versions 3 and 4. I know that Frame Generation consists of fake frames, however, I'm barely able to tell a difference in image quality and input latency in some instances.
[CONS]
Loud Gaming: This is not a surprise given the nature of gaming laptops, but this thing can get loud. Yet, its understandable due to its small form factor.
TB Limit: While glossing at specifications, I noticed that the laptop tops out at 4TBs. Four terabytes is a lot of space, but it infringes on my need to utilize this laptop for productivity purposes (large files), and for containing my hefty gaming library (50+ games).
[MIXED BAG]
It's Still a 5060: We've reached the stage where 8GB of VRAM is not enough to enjoy modern games, especially above 1080p. However, the primary reason for investing in any Nvidia GPU is for their upscaling technologies which still reign supreme. I ran out memory while trying to find the best preset for Forza Horizon 5. The benchmark mode recommended the Extreme mode after displaying fps above 90 consistently. I applied this setting along with DLSS Quality, and was thrown an error 2 minutes into true gameplay. I dialed back the configurations to "High" (2 notches below Extreme), and didn't run into any further issues. For me, I was still pleased with the overall visual presentation, and gameplay remained smooth. Yet, other games could prove be more challenging to find the best blend of fidelity and frames.
[CONCLUSION]
The AERO X16 is designed for the person who games and likes to create. I'm both which is why it works for me. It performs very well on reasonably, optimized AAA titles, but does leave more be desired since it only contains 8 GBs of VRAM. But the beefy specs and other features help make up for the GPU shortcomings. Overall, I enjoy using the laptop and look forward to more playtime with it.
