Overall:
I was pleasantly surprised by this computer. The computer didn’t scream, “LOOK AT ME! I AM A GAMER” and I quite like that. It was able to handle everything I threw at it with ease. Cooling noise was a bit louder than I was expecting, but that only occurred during longer gaming sessions.
Review:
I wasn’t really sure what to expect. I haven’t had a computer with an AMD processor before. I have been an Intel boy since… forever? I was afraid that I would be regretting my decision of going with this computer just because of the much outdated tropes of AMD being able to heat a 2,000 sqft home. Thankfully my experience was not that. The computer ran cool considering the workload I was putting it through.
Speaking about that workload, I had the chance to play a few games with this computer while on various family vacations. I assumed that since I wasn’t playing on my desktop that I would need to set my expectations low. I was surprised that I was able to play games like Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy VII Remake without making graphical sacrifices. I don’t think that either game is really known to be too stressful for modern computers, but compared to my aging Intel I7 8700k these games ran great! A big thanks to the NVIDIA RTX 5060 in conjunction with the 165Hz display I was able to game just as I would at home.
The IPS display outputs 2560 x 1600 WQXGA (Wide Quad Extended Graphics Array) which makes everything look so crisp. I am not even just talking gaming. Text is so much clearer than the 1080p laptops and monitors I have had in the past . I haven’t tried pairing this to an external monitor, but the computer does support HDMI 2.1 and Display 1.4 for higher resolutions and faster frame rates.
The overall construction of this computer is superb. I really liked that this computer wasn't super flashy. While there is RGB lighting, it can be turned off. I was also really surprised that this computer was thin as it was. I think that played into the cooling noise mentioned in the beginning of this review. There is a compromise when trying to make computers thinner and it is usually cooling. In order to keep the temperatures low the fan would need to spin at a higher rate of speed. This would result in cooling noise.
I think this computer is great. It handled everything I threw at it. I could see this being a great compromise for parents/guardians who are shopping for new college student. This computer ticks off all the boxes. It has good battery life. The screen is great for watching show or web conferencing. It isn't too massive to be used in your lap. This computer handles everything college will require of you for all majors. It's a great choice for many different use cases.

GIGABYTE - AERO X16 1VH93USC64AH - Copilot+ PC - 16" 2560×1600 WQXGA AMD Ryzen Al 7 350 - 1TB SSD - 32GB DDR5 RAM GeForce RTX 5060 - Space Grey
My first impression of the GIGABYTE AERO X16 Copilot+ PC is that it's sleek, thin (only .65 inches), and light (only 4 pounds) with beveled edges which makes it very atrractive. The large 16 inch screen makes a great display size. The overall style definitely caters to a gamer. I like how portable this will be between work, school, friends and trips.
The GIGABYTE AERO X 16 Copiot + PC has some great features. It is nice that there are tons of ports- 1 USB-C and 3 USB-A, HDMI, ethernet and headphone jack, it makes it versatile. There is a built in ethernet port that enables up to 40Gbps bandwidth to have the fastest and most reliable connection, which is extremely important when gaming. The gameplay response time so far has been low so it feels very high end. Along with the heat venting on the sides of the chassis, there is a great cooling system WINDFORCE Infinity Cooling System built in that has 2 fans to keep it cool. They are fairly quiet with a little noise and are adaptively run with the help of GIGABYTE GIMAT, the smart AI assistant. The sound quality is good. With the Dolby Atmos the speakers produce clear sound if you want to stream movies or listen to music. The keyboard feels good with the Golden Curve Keyboard. The RGB backlighting looks good. It's comfortable and not loud.
The Windows 11 and Copilot+ allow you for a better experience with faster performance to game, increase productivity and be entertained. It's powered by AMD Ryzen AI processors and 2560x1600 165Hz Display. The graphics are powered by NVIDIA Blackwell, GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPUs. The refresh rate is 165 hertz, which is above average. The 32 GB DDR5 RAM and 1 TB SSD is a fair amount.
I'm excited to keep using the GIGABYTW AERO X16 Copilot+PC and explore all of it's potential in entertainment and productivity. It's been solid performer so far.

Good Laptop with AI and Gaming Abilities

The new Gigabyte Aero X16 with RTX 5060 is a good, mid-range laptop with some gaming ambitions. The AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 is a solid performer and brings a great balance of performance and battery life. It is coupled to 32GB of RAM which means this machine has some legs for long term use. Windows 11 and Copilot really need 32GB of RAM to operate without real hiccups.
The RTX 5060 is the question mark for me. It is a solid choice if you are casual gaming or willing to settle for reduced settings to play natively at 2560x1600. Yes, it has all of the DLSS 4 and frame generation enhancements and that will definitely get you some great frame rates for most titles today, but long term I am not sure what this looks like. I would find myself stretching my budget a little to go for the Aero X16 equipped with the RTX 5070. No, it isn't night and day performance difference, but it does afford a little more breathing room for the future.
The 16" IPS display is pretty good, but I did notice some flashlighting in spots around the bezel. As OLED becomes more and more common in laptops it is becoming harder to accept LCD flaws like that and especially at this price. That said color is great and it is a 165hz screen to keep things smooth no matter what you are doing.
Build quality is very good and I have not experienced any weird connectivity issues with it which is always nice. Do note, that it took about two hours to get the machine completely updated out of the box so factor that in when setting it up.
Battery life is pretty average in this segment. I see about 8-10 hours with basic activities like web browsing and Office use. Gaming, well, you might want to keep it plugged in.
Overall, it is a good machine with some AI chops and dreams of gaming. I would put the Gigabyte on my short list as it is a respectable brand and a solid machine. If you are more serious about gaming consider looking at the higher spec'd model for a touch more.

Excellent Gaming/Productivity Hybrid

The X16 is an interesting beast - straddling the lines between a high-powered flashy gaming laptop and a high-powered practical productivity machine. While there seem to be more and more of these stealth gaming machines being put out each year, many do unfortunately end up proving the old adage that a jack of all trades is a master of none. The Aero X16 manages to maintain the balance a bit more deftly than many of its competitors though - making it a solid choice for anyone looking for a daily driver that can do it all without forcing them to compromise too much on their experience.
As Gigabyte is more commonly known for their gaming gear, I'll start by discussing its performing as a machine for fun. The X16 features a powerful Ryzen CPU and tons of RAM, but the RTX5060 it comes with is definitely in the lower range of what you'd want for a fast WQXGA panel and does drag benchmarks down somewhat, placing it overall in the lower mid-tier category for performance. While some may be put off by that I think that's actually a pretty decent place to aim for with a machine this lightweight, as it means it still has the battery capacity to function effectively as a portable unit where many more powerful machines end up being effectively tied down to a desk. All the modern titles I played on it ran great at high settings (albeit a few definitely had to rely on dynamic upscaling to drive the screen at an acceptable framerate) so it seems like it should be a few years at least before it starts running into games beefy enough to start giving it problems. And it definitely gains extra points for having a battery big enough to last you on a long plane ride - though if you're smart you'll want to stick to the integrated graphics on the CPU as the 5060 will cut your battery life in half the moment it spins up.
What really surprised me though was how well the machine worked for productivity tasks as well. The 16:10 aspect ratio for the screen is great for design, coding, and word processing work. It also comes preloaded with Studio drivers for the dGPU - which tend to be a bit more stable and are the preferred choice for designers & video editors. These can be swapped out for the more gaming focused versions very easily, which will generally result in a slight performance boost in the latest gaming titles, but for most use cases this probably isn't going to be necessary. It's also got the latest AI coprocessor built into the CPU allowing it to make use of Microsoft's full suite of Copilot+ tools, should you wish to go that route. I'm not sure it would be my top pick for graphic design work - it's getting very hard to justify anything that doesn't have a color validated OLED screen for that at this point - but for pretty much everything else it looks like a great pick.
It does have a couple of downsides worth mentioning. The frame is a little more flexible than I'd like with a machine this large and thin, so if you're planning to throw it in a backpack or a messenger bag you'll definitely want to make sure it's got some kind of protection from anything else that might be in there. And the keyboard can definitely get a little uncomfortable over prolonged use, probably due to a mix of the very flat keycaps and essentially nonexistent elevation angle when placed on a table. But, despite this, I'd still say it's one of the better all-rounders I've tried. This makes it an easy recommendation for college students, young professionals, or anyone else in the market for a machine that can do everything.

I've had multiple gaming computers/laptops ranging from Alienware, Asus Rog, etc. Prior to my review, I was completely unaware of GIGABYTE gaming laptops. So, I thought this would be a great opportunity to gove GIGABYTE a try.
I must be honest I read some reviews online about the brand and was a bit skeptical at first. It seemed like it was a not so popluar brand amongst the gaming enthusiasts. So, I didn't know what to expect, but I was hoping the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 would be good enough. Especially for the price point of the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 .
When I first received the GIGABYTE - AERO X16, I was surprised at how light the box was. Not only that, but I was also surprised at how slim the box was. I am used to gaming laptops being big and bulky.
The packaging is nothing special. At least nothing like Rog or any other popular gaming laptop brand. But I must say that the laptop itself does come well protected all the way around. But the laptop itself has a nice sleek appearance, is lightweight, and the large display is ALWAYS a must for ANY gaming laptop. You get multiple port connections, including and HDMI port, just like almost any other gaming laptop.
For the good part: the "gaming" part of the laptop. Starting with something that I really don't like about the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 is the keyboard. I feel like it takes too much finger pressure to get a good reaction time. The second improvement that this laptop needs, especially for this prive point, is the display. For the money, you should really be getting an OLED display. Aside from these two things, the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 performors really well under intense graphic demanding games. I've been using the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 for pure gaming the last three days, and I must admit that it is holding up really well.
Now for something that is extremely important for anyone...battery life. The claim is 14 hour battery life. This is most likely under very restrictive power save options, which is good for normal laptop use. But for gaming, the battery life is depleted at a slightly faster rate. You still get significantly better battery life than other gaming laptops I own, so that is a big plus for me.
Overall, the GIGABYTE - AERO X16 has performed much betterthan I anticipated. Don't let the brand reviews fool you. Something has changed within GIGABYTE, and that change appears to be for the better.
I would definitely consider this brand to anyone looking for a solid gaming computer. Especially the GIGABYTE - AERO X16.

I have never really been someone that likes buying or utilizing gaming laptops because I feel like you pay a lot of money for something that is usually underpowered with regards to desktop gaming systems. However, I finally caved & gave a gaming laptop a chance.
Unboxing & First Impressions
I have had numerous laptops over the years with most of them being geared towards just simply work or doing video & photo editing. So while I've only ever had I think 2 gaming laptops now with this one I still know that I like to have a laptop that is sleek, not bulky, looks premium & feels premium. I could tell as soon as I took the Gigabyte Aero X16 out of the box that it was going to check all of those boxes for me. It isn't super heavy but it does have a nice weight to it so it isn't like a thin-book or the like. However, I can see myself using this laptop for extending gaming sessions with ease.

Screen
Whether I am doing work tasks, watching a movie, or playing CS2, the built-in screen/monitor was very nice to look at, utilize, and so on. I was able to do some audio and video editing from my last trip to the local drag strip to then upload to my YouTube channel. While not a 4K screen it still looked nice even with most of the runs at the drag strip having happened later in the day and so it was dark out (of course the track has lights) but still whether on the track with the bright lights, or going through the parking lot to let my car cool down, the colors were clear, crisp, clean, not muddy or washed out-it looked really nice. I am extremely happy with how it looks. Now, I do have a very nice 4K gaming monitor that I hooked the system to using my dock and the GPU made use of that monitor with no issues whatsoever. So, whether I'm at home, or on the go, I can do everything I need to do on this system. The built in screen is 165hz and so it will allow for high FPS gaming.

Keyboard
The only thing I wish this laptop had that it doesn't is a full size keyboard. My gaming laptop I had years & years ago had a full size keyboard, so I wish this one did too. As I find it much easy to utilize when gaming, I will say that when I play FPS games (like Counter-Strike 2) I always will use the same gaming keyboard & mouse I have been using for over a decade now, so it's not too big of a deal as I just hook up the laptop to my dock and so utilize the keyboard & mouse I am used to. But, it would have been nice to have the full size keyboard as well since I do use the ten keys when I am working (I do a lot of spreadsheets, some coding, etc). Again, I can make due when traveling, and utilize my dock with keyboard & mouse at home, but it still would have been nice to have a full size QWERTY keyboard. I won't dock the rating because I knew going in it wasn't a full size keyboard but something to be mindful of if you do utilize the ten-key keypad working, gaming, etc.

Gaming
Gaming is where this thing really shines (it is a gaming laptop after all). With it's 165hz, 1600p, and the RTX 5060 I was playing CS2, Need for Speed, WWE 2K25, Madden 25, AEW Fight Forever, and loads more. Some of those games will cap out the FPS to 60 but some will allow it to run as high as your system can run so I had a nice mixture of seeing the system maxing out the display at 1080p and then locking at 60fps for other games. I am extremely happy to get to be able to take this with me when we travel & play games while I am the passenger in the vehicle or if we end up couped up in a hotel/condo/house/etc during a family vacation. I also get to let my kids play on it too. And they are jealous as they have desktops that they can't easily lug around with us. So I'd say they probably have gamed on it a little more than me, but that's okay, I'm sure it'll even out more as the "new" wears off (but probably not lol). Sure, there are other gaming laptops out there which can run all games, at 4K, at 60+fps but you'll be spending anywhere from twice to five times as much on those gaming laptops. I think this at it's current retail price is a really good system that will last me for years and years to come.
Rating: 5/5
Conclusion
I have never had a Gigabyte laptop. I've had Gigabyte motherboards in the past, and I've always liked them. So I am really glad that I was able to snag this laptop. It does everything I need it to do from work, to video & audio editing, to some gaming both at home and on the go. I think if you give it a try then you will find that it does everything you'll probably need it to do as well, and at a really good price point!

In the box is the laptop, charger, starting guide.
First Impression - Even inside of the box, you can feel just how lightweight the Gigabyte Aero X16 Copilot is. It’s nearly weightless, one of the lightest laptops for gaming that I’ve ever held. The small starting guide is written in the box but the entire package is eco-friendly, no extra paper or plastic waste. The laptop rest is a pair of cardboard pieces when nestled into one another make the perfect vented stand to place the laptop on. The laptop itself also feels rather small, almost smaller than your average two in one. The box that it comes with can be reused and has a handle, but the laptop itself is small enough to fit in even some larger purses, so using that as a carrying case seems inefficient.
Its hardware features an 80% keyboard with no ten-key; two usb-a, one usb-c, HDMI, DC-in, and Ethernet ports. I was pleasantly surprised as I wasn’t sure what to expect with such a thin laptop. After some short setup, you can use the computer’s Gi-Mate feature at the press of the corresponding key on the keyboard. Gi-Mate virtual assistant who makes adjustments to your computer’s hardware however you ask it to. Turn up the fans, change the keyboard color, turn on gaming mode, all at the quick button press and request of the Gi-Mate.
And despite its size, its AMD Ryzen 7 core runs all the latest PC games with ease; and its nearly 1000GB storage capacity means plenty of things can fit in its tiny package. There is only one issue I can think of, that Gigabyte more than likely already thought of. Without some sort of lift the laptop does warm up fairly quickly. This isn’t a problem for anyone that already uses some sort of laptop stand, but I wouldn’t advise leaving it flat with no ventilation.
Overall I feel like the Gigabyte Aero X16 Copilot is good competition to all the more well known gaming laptops and truly stands toe to toe. It’s impressive hardware packed into a slim and lightweight design make it a very good gift choice for gamers on the go, or anyone that prefer its ease of carry over a bigger laptop.
