A formidable computer that’s simple and reliable

In short, this laptop would fall into the entry level category. With its high performance graphics i5 processor, to the graphics card that is beefy, Gigabyte really outdid themselves with this one. The 15.6" FHD display is perfect for gaming and enjoying your favorite movies or tv shows, with a 1920 x 1080 resolution that provides crisp, clear, and dare I say tasty visuals. This display is sure to satisfy your needs. The Intel i5-13500H processor is a formidable CPU that can handle demanding applications and multitasking with the simplest of ease! With 8 gigs of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card, this laptop is more than capable of handling the some of the latest games (Overwatch 2, Black ops 2, World of Warcraft etc.) With 512GB SSD you have plenty of storage space for your games, files, photos, and applications, while also offering fast read and write speeds for quick boot and load times. I hate waiting for my computer to start and this is extremely fast! Overall, I think this laptop is a great choice for anyone looking for a gaming laptop with solid specs and performance at a price that won’t break the bank but that’s only after understanding that a computer is an investment, not a console that’s going to get replaced in a year or two. The only thing to keep in mind is that if you're planning to use it for more than just gaming, you might want to consider something with more RAM for better multitasking performance. Other than that, it’s a beast that’s slim, metallic, elegant and solid. I thoroughly enjoyed this laptop. Side note, I did have an issue when starting the OS process when you first boot a windows computer and you have to set Cortana up. I chalk that up to the software because once I restarted the process it’s been nothing but smooth sailing.

Fantastic Specs and Upgradable
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many gaming laptops on the market that begin at many different price points. The main differentiator is build quality and specifications as well as price. The Gigabyte Aorus doesn't disappoint when it comes to specs for the price. I does leave a bit to be desired for build quality. More on that in a moment. The specs of the machines I have is the i5-1300H with 8GB RAM and NVIDIA RTX 4050. With the exception of the RAM these are solid specs for the latest gaming laptops. As far as RAM, it is DDR 5 which is excellent but 8GB is low for a gaming laptop these days. One of the biggest pluses I found is the ability to upgrade the RAM and add a second SSD to this laptop. You can go up to 64GB RAM (2x32GB) as well as add the second SSD easily. Both are easily upgraded by taking off the back cover. NOTE: you need a torx screwdriver to get the cover off so if you don't have one make sure to get one. I ran Starcraft 2 at Ultra settings and it was flawless. Not the latest of the games on the market but wanted to do a quick test. The only downside is build quality. Now it is not necessarily a cheap build but there is some flex in the screen when it is open. Just need to be aware of that. Overall this is a great, low cost gaming machine that offers upgradability and solid specs. I would highly recommend.

Epic look, lacking power and execution!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GIGABYTE - AORUS 15.6" FHD Gaming Laptop - Intel i5-13500H - 8Gb computer boasts a superior gaming experience specifically with true gamers in mind. The backlighting bring a next-level look to this laptop, while the screen uses the FHD technology to bring you quality graphics for your next match. I found this laptop to be lacking outside of the aesthetics. Out of the box, the computer was slow, the fans kick into overdrive, and the unit got warm... all before ever getting to a game - this was just for setting up the computer through the normal windows setup process. After the laptop finally arrived to the home screen, it took nearly 2 hours for the laptop to accept a wireless/Bluetooth mouse, basically a standard for the industry. After downloading numbers files and apps, it finally worked, even though the mouse is plug-n-play on every other computer I own, including my work laptop. The lighting effects are good, but the screen and hinges feel weak and I would be concerned of any drop, even in a padded laptop case. Overall, I was not impressed with this product, despite hoping for the opposite! PROS - Quality screen and visuals - Nice backlighting - Good for lower-end gaming without needing to double the cost for higher-end CONS - Questionable performance - Concerns over screen and hinges - Old-skool brick weight - both laptop and charger

Pray you won’t need tech support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son used it for six months and then the screen cracked. No worries. We sent it in for a repair. They charged $300 because apparently it wasn’t covered under the warranty. We get the laptop back and it won’t charge. At all. We tried a myriad of chargers. We went to Geek Squads at two different Best Buy’s. Called Altus multiple times. The last call was a lady with a very thick accent who was not at all helpful. My son is convinced she was just making things up. Terrible company
