Customers regard the G6 KF 16" Gaming Laptop's performance, RAM, and graphics capabilities very positively, frequently praising its speed and visual quality. However, the laptop's relatively loud fan noise and shorter battery life are common criticisms. Many appreciate the screen size and refresh rate, while some find the device's heat generation to be a concern during extended use. The price point is also frequently cited as a significant advantage.

First thing you will notice is the weight and sturdiness of the Gigabyte gaming laptop. At a 16" screen, you will appreciate gaming. Video quality on 4K felt like movie theater quality; very impressive. The details of images was so good, couldn't take my eyes off the screen. The sound quality is good and uses Dolby Atmos.
Speed of gaming was good using high speed internet. I didn't sense any lag nor glitching while in game play. The response time was excellent and my gaming experience was pretty good.
The keyboard changes colors randomly or can be set to a specific color. Keyboard light can be set to on/off and alternating colors.
A large tracking pad allows for continuous use of the mouse.
Screen angle extends open to about 120 degrees.
Again the weight of the laptop is a bit heavy, keeping in mind it's a durable gaming laptop with features such as multiple fans, graphics cards, durable screen, hard drive and more...
included camera seems of average quality.
some of the ports on the back and sides of the Gigabyte include but are not limited to:
flash USB
ethernet port
micro SD slot
3.0 USB slot
2.0 USB slot
mic input
headphone input
HDMI
exhausts located on each side and two on the back of the laptop
charging port is located on the back of the laptop
you're looking at NVIDIA GeForce RYX 4060
intel core i7
Windows 11
fans turns on and off and are very quiet when turned on, hardly noticeable.
A blue light control is included and can be adjusted in the control center.
different power modes to lesson the usage of battery power include:
performance mode
entertainment mode
power saving
quiet
you may change power modes within the control panel; keeping in mind, if you switch to power saving mode you will lose some functionality of Apps, gaming etc. since those may require more power to run properly or at all.
keyboard brightness, on/off, color backlight and keyboard sleep timer can all be customized/adjusted within the control panel. You can select one color to be stable or allow for variations of colors to switch out and rotate as you use your laptop.
the functionality of your keyboard (the way buttons function) can be adjusted within the control center to allow locking of certain keys, to change button controls, to switch the mouse buttons for left-handed use and for speed of the mouse cursor and shape of mouse cursor.
The recommended settings for the battery charger is, "Charge the battery when it's under 70%, but stop when it reaches 80% charged". There are other options but this is the recommended. The battery will drain faster if you leave it on entertainment power mode so be sure to use the recommended battery power savings mode. These settings can be found in the control center.
Microsoft Edge is the default browser.
NVIDIA settings can be adjusted in the NVIDIA control panel, which is different from what can be controlled in the Gigabyte control panel.
Preinstalled Apps include but are not limited to:
Edge, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office, Outlook, Photos, Xbox, Spotify, Grammarly, Camo Studio, Solitaire & Casual Games, Luminar Neo AI Photo Editor, Microsoft ClipChamp,, LinkedIn, Snipping Tool, OneNote, To Do, Movies & TV, Microsoft Whiteboard, Mixed Reality, Portal, Publisher, and more.
Gigabyte comes with Blue Tooth capabilities.
Gigabyte control center allows you to view at a glance, your CPU usage, fan speed, keeps track of temperature of laptop. Fan speed can be changed from automatic to maximum to custom within the control center.
Overall a very good laptop that I would recommend for gaming.

Good Value - mid range gaming laptop

For the price in my opinion, this is a good value either mid range or upper low range gaming laptop. At reasonable price points gaming laptops always force the buyer to choose certain priorities. My personal use of a laptop is more general use and less gaming use.
First, I will discuss the strength of this unit. The build quality is very good. The processor is generation 13 and is excellent with balanced approach to power usage and cooling. The screen has 1200 pixels vertically which gives you better non-gaming business and Webb performance and less scrolling. For me this aspect ratio is superior than the classic 16 x 9 ratio for non-gaming. There are also certain games where it is preferable to have the additional vertical pixels compared to a standard full high definition 1080 resolution. The RTX 4060 is a balanced and lower power usage mid range laptop GPU. At the native resolutions of the screen all of my preferred games run at adequate refresh rates. As with all gaming laptops, both fans will be running at high speed if you run in performance mode. I was able to continue gaming in quiet mode but with reduced 50 to 100 frames per second speed. So basically you can play nearly any game as long as you stay within the moderate resolution. Wi-Fi 6E is included and this works flawlessly.
Some of the limitations compared to high-end laptops from various vendors include , screen quality is very good but not as excellent as some of the higher end units. Keyboard call quality is very good. The gigabyte gaming software is adequate but a bit less flexible and sophisticated than others I have used. There is no thunderbolt port, and no charging via USB PD. Sound is Dobie Atmos, but nothing special. Ports are well placed and I would expect reliability to be excellent from my 20 or so. Your experience with this brand. Overall to me, the design trade-offs are good and the value is excellent.

This is the first laptop I've ever used by Gigabyte and I have to say I'm rather impressed. In the past I've associated this brand with cheap computers but I'm happy to say I've been wrong. Packaging leaves something to be desired but seeing as how the boxes were in the trash within a couple of hours I'm not too worried.
The laptop has some heft to it, as is expected of a modern gaming laptop but the construction feels solid in the hand. It feels well built. The screen, while not the brightest, is highly satisfying. I do not have any issues looking at it got hours on end. The refresh rate is much better than anticipated and does not suffer from any blirring or appreciable lag. Whether playing a game or watching a 4K movie it's a pleasure to look at. The built in speakers are good enough to work in a pinch but I'd recommend either using some good external speakers or some gaming headphones. The built in webcam will not win any awards but will work in a pinch if you hope on a work meeting.
Performance is a high point. The Core i7 inside handled everything I threw at it without breaking a sweat. You will hear the cooling fans ramp up but that happens to any gaming laptop.
Overall this is an outstanding gaming loptop.

Powerful gaming on the go

This review is for the new gigabyte 16" G6 laptop.
The Gigabyte G6 is a powerful gaming laptop that delivers impressive performance and a sleek design at a great price.
With its high-end components including a fast processor (13th Gen Intel Core i7-13620H 2.40 GHz) and a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics card and 32 GB of ram.
I have been able to play most games on high setting and keep the FPS over 100 and little to no lag at all. So its very capable of handling demanding games and multitasking with ease.
The 16" display is a great size for on the go play, it's vibrant and immersive, making gaming and multimedia consumption a delight.
Additionally, the keyboard is comfortable for long gaming sessions and back lit with multiple color options, and the cooling system though loud at times effectively keeps temperatures
in check even during intense game play. Now there is room for improvement when it comes to battery life.
Over all this is a very well put together gaming laptop that won't leave you disappointed.

Very Nice, almost the perfect laptop

I gave this 4 stars but it is more like 4.5 stars. The computer came double boxed with all the necessary start up guides, power cables, and an ethernet cable. First impression is it is quality made and I like that the power port and exhaust ports are on the back side and not left and right side. The start up process is like all the other Microsoft laptops, however, this one took a little longer to get from start to screen log in process page. I mean, a couple extra minutes, but who is counting, right? The battery was almost fully charged so I ran all my normal daily things (social media, youtube, email) and I was able to get over 4 hours of use before I got to the 15% power save mode. I am running everything on balanced mode with custom brightness and power off/sleep times. Now this thing has run everything I have thrown at it without a hitch. But I did have a hitch setting up wifi. After going through all the updates the laptop would not stay connected to my new Asus BE-98pro. At first I thought it was the router as I was having some issues with my phone, as well. I reset the router and reconfigured it, phone worked just fine but laptop still would drop and go back to the 2.4Ghz band. Updates said I had the most recent firmware but a quick check on Intel website showed I was two firmware releases behind. So, I updated only the wifi and bluetooth portions, restarted the laptop and router. BAM, no more issues and even through three or four walls I am able to pull around 800 Mbps down and 35 up. Fantastic. My only other issue is the keyboard. The LED lights are a nice tough but on the right side of the keyboard, the shift key and the 0 (zero) key on the 10-key are smaller than normal. I find myself constantly hitting the up arrow instead of shift or the zero key. It almost annoying enough that I will use my other laptop instead. This is the reason for the half star off. I ran HeavyLoad stress test after playing a few larger graphically online games and after 3-5 minutes, the laptop was still allocating over 50% memory and pull out over 800fps. This thing is a beast and I am thoroughly impressed! Nice job, Gigabyte!

Fantastic Beginner Gaming Laptop

I purchased this laptop around Black Friday last year and so far it has been working tremendously well. This is my first foray into gaming laptops and the Gigabyte has served as a great replacement to my older office/school laptop I had for seven years.
There are a few minor issues which doesn't affect the overall rating, but I feel it must be addressed for any potential buyers. First, the power button is sometimes uncooperative where I find myself having to press it a certain way in order for the light to turn on. Another issue is that I've had this laptop blue screen on me twice while I was using Discord. I'm unsure if this had to do with a Windows update that was done prior, but this might be something to consider looking into.
Display is pristine and clear, battery life without the charger is about 2-3 hours depending on your conservancy settings, and the speed is as expected. I recommend updating the Nvidia driver to its latest edition upon setting up the computer, since I had some issues crop up with Dolphin prior to doing so.
I'd recommend purchasing this laptop whenever there's a discount to get the most bang for your buck.

Capable gaming laptop with some drawbacks.

This 16” Gigabyte G6 KF gaming laptop has everything you'll need to jump right into PC gaming. While it has its drawbacks, it will certainly get you playing all the latest PC games.
This laptop is capable of playing all the latest games at higher frame rates. The 4060 laptop gpu, 32gb of ram and the i7 13620H chip, provide a snappy and great gaming experience.
So far, I’ve played Baldurs Gate 3 and Overwatch 2 and the experience has been pretty good. Haven’t noticed any dropped frames or issues so far.
While the hardware specs are great, there a couple things I need to mention. The cooling fans get loud pretty quick. Downloading games caused the fans to kick in at higher RPMS and it was kind of obnoxious. Playing any game will cause the fans to kick into high gear and definitely takes away from the experience. Obviously, a small price to pay to keep things cool but worth mentioning.
The next thing that bothered me was the display itself. While it is capable of hitting 165hz I noticed a constant blur or ghosting on the screen during quick movements in-game. I spent quite a bit of time in the settings but could not fix the issue. Maybe it was my eyes adjusting to a different screen, but it was definitely noticeable. The color reproduction of the display was also different. Everything seemed sort of washed out even after using the display calibration in windows. Colors don’t pop on this screen.
Overall, the gigabyte G6 KF is good entry level gaming laptop with plenty of power to handle your gaming needs. While it does have some flaws, it is certainly very capable!

Great entry gaming laptop

I really like this RTX 4060 / Intel i7 based gaming laptop. It is a great entry level gaming laptop. The RTX 4060 runs cooler than the earlier RTX 3060 I had in my last gaming laptop. DLSS and Frame Generation also work better in the RTX 4060. I am able to play Starfield at the native 1920 x 1200 resolution using Digital Foundry recommended graphic settings and get FPS in the high 80s to low 100s in the game using DLSS in quality mode and Frame Generation with minimal input lag (with Nvidia reflex low latency turned ON). This is a big improvement over the RTX 3060 from a similar laptop from two years ago.
I really like how clean the windows 11 install on this laptop was, virtually no bloatware. There was only the Gigabyte Control Center for the gaming / fan settings and a Smart USB Backup app from Gigabyte, that was it. The hardest part of setup was finding out online what I needed to do to register my laptop with Gigabyte. Hint, you need to create an account through their AORUS brand, too convoluted to find and understand for my liking. This particular laptop has no AORUS branding at all. The 32GB of ram the laptop comes with is plenty and the 1 TB SSD is fast enough. There is another SSD stick drive slot if you want to add a second drive for more hard drive space.
The battery lasts okay when using for general computer, but I mostly use it for gaming so it is usually plugged in, I have the battery set to charge no higher than 80 percent since it is used plugged in almost exclusively.
I would recommend this laptop for an entry level gaming laptop, that can also function as a good all around laptop for everyday use.

I want to like this product so much, it is strong, but it came to me with faulty RAM with the issue appearing two days after the return/replace period ended. I suffer from semi-regular crashes do to this. Not the quality assurance I expected from Bestbuy.
