Customers regard the G6 KF 16" Gaming Laptop's performance, RAM, and graphics capabilities very positively, frequently praising its speed and visual quality. However, the laptop's relatively loud fan noise and shorter battery life are common criticisms. Many appreciate the screen size and refresh rate, while some find the device's heat generation to be a concern during extended use. The price point is also frequently cited as a significant advantage.

GIGABYTE - 16" 165Hz Gaming Laptop IPS - Intel i7-13620H with 32GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 - 1TB SSD Summary: Great value upper tier gaming laptop. Pros: * Form Factor. No frills and lean. * Performance. This is a mixed bag. Games perform extremely well on this unit at maximum settings. That is what counts. See below for additional comments. * Ports. This unit has a plethora of ports arranged all around the left, rear, and right sides of the laptop. Left: Mic, Headphones, 2xUSB-A, Rear: Proprietary power, 1xUSB-C, 1xMini Display Port, HDMI, Right: Micro SD slot, 1xUSB-C, Compact RJ-45 NIC. For specs, check out the Best Buy product specifications listed. Its more ports than I see for laptops at this price point, and even form factor. * Storage. This unit comes equipped with 1TB (M.2 gen4 SSD) storage. A lot of units at this price point stick you with 500GB, or 750GB if you're lucky. If you're a gamer, this unit should hold a number of games lets you worry about upgrading until much much later. * Screen. The screen size is great! It's vibrant and crisp. During the day and at certain angles, there can be a hazy glare - but only really noticeable on dark content. * Value. On balance, this unit delivers good value. Cons: * Performance. Basic Windows performance seems to be spotty with strange lag and a prolonged boot time. Windows PC Manager says boot time is 1 second. But thats a lie. I can get tea and go to the restroom (#1) in the time it takes for the unit to boot. * Stability. This unit has blue screened three times. I believe it was the result of a Windows update that failed, but didn't manage to catch the message each time it rebooted. It finally recovered and I ran cleanup routines including use of Microsoft's new PC Manager. It does seem a tad bit more responsive. It hasn't blue screened or halted like it did * Design. While an excellent form factor, the unit isn't anything to write home about visually. Its a plan Jane design. For the price point, it could have been a little more fancy. * Sound. The built-in speakers, as with most laptops, are horrific. Don't expect to enjoy any experience. * Noise. At maximum and even medium settings for the games I tested, the unit is LOUD. I have to turn up the volume to 75-100% to be able to hear ambient sounds in game and occasionally even dialog and action. Use: I use this laptop to game. I installed some of my favorite games to check out frame rates at the highest settings for each game. They all play supremely smooth and with fantastic visual quality. Frame rates at maximum settings easily exceed 90FPS. Some of the cons means I won't use this for my daily driver. If you can afford to spend 500-750$ more, I might consider another unit. If you don't need any flashing colors, this unit will work great.

This is a solid, budget gaming laptop. I didn’t want to spend too much money on my daughter for a gaming laptop, but I also didn’t want to get her something that wouldn’t run the games she likes to run. Generally, she plays games like Stardew Valley, Honkai:Starrail, and Genshin Impact. On the older gaming laptop she used, which had an AMD process and an older Nvidia card, these games would lag considerably. The G6 has no such issues. Gameplay is snappy; on normal settings, there is no lagging with any of the games that she plays. The fans definitely kick on often, and they do make some noise. That being said, the top of the laptop remains nice and cool, signaling excellent cooling capabilities. I’m sure the smooth gameplay has to do with the i7 processor, 32 gigs of RAM, and the RTX 4060 card. The 16” screen is gorgeous, even if it is ‘just’ FHD+ WXUGA screen. Colors are bright and resolute, and the screen gets plenty bright. If there was one thing I could nitpick, it would be the internal speakers. They are weak on bass, but do get plenty loud. Most times my daughter is using headphones anyways, so that is just a small criticism compared to the overall value to performance ratio. I can’t say enough good about this laptop. If you’re looking for a mid-level, budget laptop that performs well above its price point, the G6 KF 2024 is a good one to drop some money on. Other high points: NVIDIA RTX4060 8 gig video card 32 gigs of DDR5 RAM 1 gig solid state hard drive. Ethernet connection as well as WiFI HDMI output 2 USB connections 2 USB-C connections Micro SD slot

This Gigabyte laptop is a beast. I use it for VR flight sims like RealFlight and Microsoft Flight Simulator, and it runs everything smooth as silk. The RTX 4060 and 32GB RAM make a huge difference — no lag, great frame rates, and it stays cool. The 1TB SSD gives me tons of space for games, music projects, and video work. Setup was easy, and the screen looks amazing with a fast 165Hz refresh rate. For the price, this laptop punches way above its weight. Highly recommended for gaming, VR, or creative work.

So I bought this to replace my work laptop, which I use heavily on my fleet of semis, and at home, occasional gaming and video/picture editing. Overall for the price, its great. Does everything I want it to do, I can play all my games on it with max detail and have no problems with lag or anything else. Just a quick run down of what I think. Pros -Powerful and boots super fast -Sleek and not super bulky -Cheap for what it is Cons -Battery life is terrible. Don't really recommend using it off the charger for very long (I use a Milwaukee portable power inverter in this case for work) -Fans are super loud while on Performance mode -Gets really warm on the bottom during gaming. Overall, I'd buy it again, just keep in mind what you're getting.

Great laptop. If you want to game, then this is anoht the best youre gonna get for the price point. The rtx 4060 is crisp, and this i7 handles everything perfectly. However battery is bad, even with proper optimization youre only gonna get about 3 hours away from a charger with relatively undemanding useage.

Strong Performance, Gigabyte is One to Consider

If you’ve built a PC or at least shopped for an upgrade on your GPU, you’ve probably seen Gigabyte listed among the brands. Where you think of these companies doing PC parts first and laptops and peripherals second, we may be starting to see a shift where companies like MSI and Gigabyte. With MSI Titan leading the charge on desktop replacement, I’m curious to see where Gigabyte aims to land in the market. There’s a lot of good to talk about. Right out of the box without even opening the lid, I noticed the build quality was up to standard. There’s almost no flex to the chassis. Ventilation on the bottom shows the beefy copper heat sink through the openings and the two fans that cool it. On the back there’s vents to the left and right with some well-placed I/O in the middle. The hinge is light and easy to open one handed but maybe a bit too loose. There’s a bit of wobble when moving around. Although it lacks stiffness, there isn’t any flex to the lid or panel. This laptop was built for 1080p gaming. I’ve been playing New World, Remnant II, and the very early alpha testing for Tribes 3 Rivals. No issues with lag, frame drop, or stuttering. I’m either at high or medium graphics. You can access Gigabyte Control Center in the windows system tray and adjust your mode. From here you can adjust the performance mode from Entertainment, Power Saving, Quiet, and Performance. The fans do get loud when gaming, but this is par for the course with gaming laptops. You can set your own custom fan curve if that’s your preference. I ran 3DMark Timespy and came up with a 9,535. For graphics we got 9,205 and scored a bit higher with the CPU at 11,971. Cinebench 2024, which now benchmarks GPU, came in at 10,084 pts for the GPU and 819 pts for the multi-threaded score. This is respectable middle ground for a gaming laptop. I like that this came with 32GB of memory. It seems that 16GB is just enough and Gigabyte recognized this and added more. The display leaves a bit to be desired. It’s a decent FHD panel but the brightness could be better and the color accuracy isn’t quite up to par with other FHD panels I’ve seen. As far as the essentials go, they’re all acceptable. The keyboard feels like your typical membrane keyboard. It’s not a bad typing experience but I’m spoiled by a more clicky type keycaps. It does, however, come with a number pad which I’m a number pad fan so that’s nice to see. The layout is fairly standard with no surprises. I would have liked to seen an app launcher or mode switcher for the Gigabyte control center. The keyboard backlight RGB leaves a lot to be desired. While the lighting is bright and I LOVE they made both primary and secondary functions transparent, you just don’t have a lot of customization of the colors and it appears to just be only one zone. Sound seems to be getting a bit better on laptops. Although the sound stage is very flat, they get loud, and that’s nice. You don’t get the static or distortion you get at higher volumes like you would with some older laptops. I wish I could say laptop camera’s were getting better too but they’re not. The one in this one is just okay. I wish I could tell you this wasn’t the norm, but it is. Trackpad is nice and large but if you want to right click, you have to either to finger tap, or very specifically click the bottom right of the trackpad. A bit of a strange choice but I would imagine it would make accidently right clicking a bit of a challenge, but also intentionally right clicking a bit of a challenge. Gigabyte does ship this laptop with an extra M.2 hold down screw and getting to the extra slot isn’t too difficult. There are 13 screws, all the same size, to remove from the bottom. They put a small sticker of the two in the front. Wedge a thin piece of plastic between the bottom cover and the chassis and work your way around and both the RAM, M.2 storage, and WiFi card are all easily accessible when the bottom panel is removed. While WiFi is on the brain, it’s worth mentioning it connects at 2.4 gbps indicating it’s the 6E standard. While the RAM appears to be two 16GB sticks from Samsung at 4800 MHZ DDR5. I also noticed while I had the bottom off that the battery watt hour is only 54Wh. This explained why my battery life was very poor, although, one shouldn’t expect great battery life on a gaming PC, I hope some day manufacturers break away from accepting this fact. To summarize, this is a good gaming laptop. They put thought into I/O placement, tried to balance cost vs performance without skipping on build quality. While RGB doesn’t hold a lot of weight, the display quality and battery life does and there was room for improvement here. Improvements here would have made this a great gaming laptop. I wouldn’t let that deter you if you have your eyes set on this. It handled the games I threw at it wonderfully and I expect it will do well for years to come.

A lot of PC parts I use when building my rigs are from Gigabyte and they are known for quality. This G6 laptop is no exception to that rule. They really nailed price to performance ratio with this higher end Mid tier laptop. Personally for me. the 16 inch screen is my sweet spot for mobile and the FHD+ (1920x1200) resolution suits is well. The dark gray chassis isn't flashy at all but I love the simplicity. I/O includes - USB A 2.0 (why?), USB A 3.0, 2x USB-C, Mini DP 1.4, HDMI 2.1, a sweet micro SD card reader, 1 2-in-1 Headset/Mic combo jack and a separate Mic jack as well. You will get power from the 150w small power brick made by Chicony (Steam Decks use this brand). Keyboard felt great with my big hands and the off center trackpad didn't interfere with my gaming as my palms were resting on the G6. As this is a gaming laptop, Gigabyte spared no expense with an i7 13620H, RTX 4060 and 32GB of DDR5 RAM shown on an IPS screen. More than enough horsepower to run most AAA games on Med to High with decent FPS. By the way, if you know how to upgrade laptops, the RAM can be upgraded to 64GB and there is an extra M.2 slot to add another NVMe drive to compensate for the included 1TB. Sound isn't going to win any awards even with the 2x 2W speakers with Dolby Atmos. Just use your headphones and you'll be better off. Performance for me was excellent. Played Diablo 4, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate 3 with great performance. Most was set on High settings but Med for Cyberpunk for me. Included a screenshot of the TR stress test showing ~135 FPS on HIGH settings. Most games gave me triple digit results from 100-140fps. With what Gigabyte offers in the G6 laptop, the price is on point and will get most of what you want done for a few years to come. Compact 5lb machine is a sleeping beast when it comes to performance.

I’ve been using the GIGABYTE G6 KF for a few weeks now and I’m genuinely impressed. This thing is a powerhouse. The Intel i7-13620H processor and 32GB of RAM make everything super fast and responsive, whether I’m gaming, streaming, or multitasking with school work and editing. The 165Hz display is buttery smooth and really makes a difference, especially in fast-paced games. The RTX 4060 handles everything I throw at it, from AAA titles on high settings to creative software like Photoshop and Premiere. No lag, no stuttering. I mainly use it for gaming on Steam and Epic Games, and it runs everything beautifully. Right now I’m having a great time diving into the Final Fantasy VII games. They look amazing, load fast, and run like a dream. The 1TB SSD gives me plenty of space for all my games, and the system boots up in seconds. It also stays surprisingly cool under pressure, which is a big plus for a gaming laptop. If you’re looking for a high-performance machine that can keep up with both serious gaming and productivity, this is a solid pick.

A Powerful Gaming On The Go

Gigabyte has delivered a great gaming laptop with the G6. This 16" FHD laptop isn't as heavy as most gaming laptops despite all that is packed within it. It has a 16" FHD 165Hz IPS display, 32GB of RAM, Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, Intel UHD GPU, Intel Core i7 CPU, 2 USB-C 3.2 ports, 1 USB-A 2.0 port, 1 USB-A 3.2 port, Full HDMI port, 1 mini display port (1.4), 1Gb nic, WiFi 6E nic, micro SD card reader, webcam, and a 1TB M.2 PCI-E SSD. It good to see a manufacturer have a 1TB SSD with their laptop. So many manufacturers still have their laptops come with a 512GB SSD which is too small these days. The Core i7 CPU coupled with the RTX 4060 GPU make for a great gaming experience. I was able to also connect the G6 to my 49" 5120x1440 monitor without any problems. The G6 was able to handle running Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 4 at a high frame rate and zero lag on my 49" monitor. This is helped by the 8GB of dedicated VRAM on the RTX 4060, the 32GB of RAM, and the WiFi 6E nic. First person shooters running on the G6 run fast and smooth. I don't think you will be disappointed with the G6's performance. For those who record and edit their game footage, you'll be happy with the rendering performance of the G6 as well. I was able to render video game footage recorded in ProRes 422 HQ and H.265 at up to 130 frames per second. So if you need a gaming laptop to handle the high performance requirements of current first person shooters and any other genre of games that also performs well when rendering your game footage, then G6 would fit the bill. It has an impressive bult-in 16" 165Hz IPS display and can drive large high resolution displays. The output of the built-in display is good for such a high refresh rate. Gigabyte has ensured you'll have no lag with the display or the WiFi nic, when using the G6 for on the go gaming. I have been very happy and impressed with the G6. The performance has been better than I expected it to be. Gigabyte chose the G6's components well. Impressive performance for a laptop. If you are looking into getting a gaming laptop, consider the Gigabyte G6 KF. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Gigabyte is a named brand that many know from their computer parts and accessories. This laptop brings that storied product innovation into a powerful laptop. If you are looking at this laptop then you know that you are looking at a powerful gaming machine that's portable. The price is very good for what you are getting. 16" Ips screen thats FHD+ (1920x1200) so a more clearer picture in a very nice panel. No its not touch screen, but for a gaming machine I don't think it needed it. Secondly, the RTX 4060 in this form factor and display crushes games with ease. That's because its paired with an i7 that's built to for power users and handle multitasking. On top of that they tossed in 32GB of DDR5 ram! So for me I decided to benchmark some of my favorite games: Benchmarks Custom 1080P Ultra/High : WarZone2 - 100FPS Forza -105 FPS Red Dead Redemption- 120 FPS Cyberpunk - 88 FPS Apex Legends- 125-195 FPS Battlefield 2042- 100-120 FPS Diablo IV- 90 143 FPS So to recap as you can see you will get every frame that could possibly want from these games in this laptop. The screen is rated 165Hz so it will take advantage of it. This GPU/CPU pairing for this resolution is perfect for on the go gamers at a pretty attractive price point that just oozes with features. Pick this laptop and you wont be disappointed as I'm excited to take this on the road and on the cruises and still be able to game with some amazing power.

I got this because the price was too good. Well I learned pretty fast that it was too good for a reason. The screen was the worst problem the colors were so terrible the colors were so low and even messing with software to get it better...it didnt help much. Battery another negative, just watching some videos on browser drained the battery so fast it didn't even last 1hour. Finale complaint is it overheated even with my laptop cooler, just touching the center of the keyboard was hot to the touch with my cooper 1000 fan speed wither nothing good. Also notices the fans would rev so hard under load that it would rev then slow then rev and slow again, constantly. For the good, the value is good for what you get, if you can live with those cons its a no brainer. But for me i returned mine because i just couldnt live with those cons.

High End Gaming at a Reasonable Price Point

Gigabyte, out of Taiwan, might not be the most well known computer manufacturer, but it has been gaining attention as of late for its ability to provide high quality components in its PCs at a reasonable price for consumers. This particular gaming laptop is a terrific example of that. I was pretty impressed with this model. Pros: - At a mid-range price point for a gaming laptop, you get a high end graphics card (GeForce RTX 4060), a solid state drive, a high-end i7 processor, a whopping 32GB of system memory, and a beautiful 16" HD display with a good refresh rate (165 Hz). - Initial set-up was smooth and painless. I love how fast Windows can update when you are using a solid state drive vs a traditional hard drive. Gigabyte has a unique default wallpaper and UI for its OS and driver updates (see photos) that I thought was a nice change of pace. - This laptop was able to run any and all games in my Steam/Origin libraries without issue. I was even able to crank up the settings to optimize frame rates on the most demanding games that I own. - The trackpad is large and works well. It has a good feel and is responsive. I also appreciate the plentiful amount of USB ports (4 total, 2 are USB-C) Cons: - The dimensions of the screen were unique to me as it's closer to a square-ish shape than I'm used to, but I plan to use this with different monitors on a VESA set-up anyway. - For a gaming computer, 1TB of storage won't get you too far. You may find yourself having to uninstall games to make room for others fairly frequently unless you expand the storage. Overall, this is a fantastic buy as you get high end components in virtually every key area. This laptop is a powerhouse at a great price and I was a big fan.

Great Laptop. Comes with Windows 11 Home. The price point for having an Intel i7 13th gen processor, with the 32 GB memory, 1TB SSD, and 40xx series graphics card is a great deal. These parts can quite pricey when bought individually. The screen size at 16' with a 165 Hz looks great for gaming.
