This gaming laptop makes an excellent companion to your desktop or as a complete desktop replacement. The keyboard is full size, for a laptop, and is responsive and easy to type on. The 4060 graphics card is able to handle almost any AAA game. The amount of RAM is plenty enough for intense gaming and running multiple programs at once. The fan noise is rather quiet and runs cool under load. The screen resolution looks very good, and the colors are bright and accurate. It is rather big and heavy so it will not make the best travel laptop. It is perfect for home and use and those that prefer a larger laptop. The mouse pad is responsive as well and works very well. The keyboard layout allows a good hand placement for keyboard gaming and the backlit keyboard is easy to see in dark or low light conditions. It has a slight glossy finish that looks really good; however, it shows fingerprints very well. The lid closes with ease and feels sturdy and hefty when caring. If you are looking to replace your desktop with a smaller package, this is a good option.

The Gigabyte 16" does a lot of things well with only slight observations that would be considered minor drawbacks. While I don't play the most recent graphically intense games. I can easily play some process intense games without a single fuss.
Ergonomically the laptop feels great. The power cord plugs in the rear, keeping it out of the way from long mouse or palm drags if it was on either side of the unit. The vents on either side are toward the rear of the machine, thus minimizing uncomfortable hot air blowing your way. The keys are spaced great, aren't clacky, and respond well. Nothing feels in the way of the user experience. And while I mainly used a Bluetooth mouse, the trackpad wasn't a bad time as far as trackpads go. I rarely had any taps or clicks go awry.
My gaming tends to be on the single player side, and I do a bit of video editing. I enjoy some Halo, Civ 6 and the most hardware demanding game I play is Cyberpunk. The Gigabyte ate them all up on high to max settings. I was able to run my process intense Civ 6 on max visuals with max map and player counts just fine. Turn to turn wait time was fast with no lags. 4k video editing was fast and workflow was smooth uninterrupted. Built-in audio is good. Effects, music, surround sound all blend well together into a nice tapestry.
Even the drawbacks are ones that can be considered normal and par for course. Battery life isn't too good while gaming. I usually was able to do around 2 hours of gaming, and that was without running settings to conserve battery life in any way. I do wish the screen were perhaps a tad brighter, but color accuracy and quality are great. Everything from skin to cinema come across faithfully.
The Gigabyte 16" is a nice time and experience.

I am honestly blown away at what this laptop can do. At $1299.99, it is seriously a powerhouse. Let's start with the design. It's sleek and modern. It is lightweight and thin. The design on the back of the screen is cool. I also like the red accents around the body of the laptop. The screen is very thin and the keyboard, which is illuminated, looks cool as well. It has plenty of connection options like usb-a and usb-c, headphone jack, hdmi output and an ethernet connection. Now, performance. This thing is super fast. It literally loads in seconds. It has had no issues handling any applications that I used on it. Gaming on this bad boy is super impressive. I like to play a lot of first person shooters and a select few third person ones as well. I tested this with several different games that have all been released in the past 6 months or so. I was able to pretty much max out all setting for every game except one. The one I couldn't max out, I still had it on high. I got an average of 60 to 70 frames per second during gameplay. My peak was 109 fps and my lowest was 47 fps. These numbers are very very impressive, especially for a laptop that is under $1500+. The screen has excellent response time. I notice very little motion blur and the colors and clarity as well as sharpness on the screen is pretty accurate and overall excellent. For anyone looking for a quality gaming laptop on a budget, this bad boy is the one. Great product Gigabyte!

✅ Strengths:
Great price-to-performance ratio for a midrange gaming laptop.
Decent cooling design compared to others in its class.
Dual RAM slots & extra SSD slot make it very upgrade-friendly.
Good 1080p or 1440p gaming performance, depending on configuration (usually RTX 4060/4070 level GPU).
Solid build for the price, with a professional look—not too flashy.
⚠️ Weaknesses:
Fans can get noticeably loud under load.
Battery life is mediocre (typical for gaming laptops — expect ~4 hours light use).
Screen quality is good but not “premium” — color accuracy and brightness are fine for casual creative work but not pro-level.
Keyboard and speakers are serviceable but unremarkable.
Verdict: A solid choice for gamers and power users on a budget who want upgradability and solid performance without overpaying. Not ideal if you care about ultra-lightweight portability, battery life, or premium materials.

There is no better feeling when a game you love comes out and you have an ultimate gaming machine to play it on! Hades 2 looks amazing on it and I can’t stop playing!
I’ve gotten to the point after living for close to 50 years on this earth that I just don’t like sitting on a computer chair and watching a monitor for endless hours no matter how comfortable the chair is and how nice the monitor is. Having a gaming laptop is so nice!
The Gigabyte has this beautiful IPS screen that is so nice and crisp on the dark areas of Hades II.
The RTS4060 is more than enough for most games and completely overkill for this game and the majority that I play.
I usually keep it plugged in when gaming so the battery for me has not been something I care too much about but something that I’ve learned with any laptop is they will get hot and even this beautiful laptop is no exception even if the fans seem to be the best I’ve had to keep the internals cool. I use a nice aluminum laptop cooler that works amazing.
This gigabyte gaming laptop is incredible!

For gaming purposes I was always skeptical about mobile or notebook gaming platforms, as I always thought you get the most power and best GPUs from desktops, however I learned that I was wrong about it. It may have been in the past that gaming notebooks were always underpowered, but nowadays, these gaming laptops have caught up with their desktop counterparts in my opinion. So for about two weeks now I have been using GIGABYTE with 16" 165Hz Gaming Laptop IPS, it comes with Intel i7-13650HX processor and a hefty 32GB RAM, as well as NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, with the total hard drive storage of 1TB SSD. I'd say the specifications are pretty awesome, even though you could opt out for Gigabyte's top of the line gaming gear as well. However, for a budget friendly family, this notebook checked out all the marks for me.
First of all, the build and design of this laptop is well done, it has a nice weight to it but it is not overly heavy compared to my older notebooks. The materials used in assembly are pretty good in my opinion, I really like the top part of the lid, which has a nice non-intrusive graphic on it.
The screen is vibrant and colors pop, however I am sure an OLED display would blow my socks off, so hopefully some day it will be in my budget. I think with 165Hz this display has higher refresh rate display compared to other brands and can make action on-screen appear smoother and easier to follow.
Sound is well pronounced, rich and with Dolby Atmos support can pump out good sounding scenes. Keyboard is nice however I was a bit surprised by how flexy it is. It does not bother me much, however it is something I noticed when typing, it just has a flex to it. I appreciate the backlit feature and ways to play with it.
The GPU with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 is more than enough for my gaming needs. The frame rate is awesome (240-290 fps on Fortnite), there is no stuttering, it is smooth, gradation is well-balanced and it just works! I like that I can control the fan speeds and with all the grills installed in this notebook, it runs cool and does not overheat at all, so no need for a cooling pad.
I have been pretty much using it for gaming and will also start utilizing it for my work, as the screen is perfect for me, and if needed there is always an HMDI out to connect this beast to a bigger sized display.
All in all, I am very pleased with this brand and would definitely recommend to anyone who is budget cautious to consider picking this model up.

As a computer enthusiast, I will often spend a little extra to ensure I have the best and fastest (which helps ensure a longer timeframe before the technology becomes obsolete). This laptop was a little different, however, in that it is marketed as a budget gaming laptop. Ultimately, it is a good laptop that requires some compromises to reach its price point (and, arguably, there are better budget gaming laptops available for the same or better price).
To begin, while this may not have much to do with the laptop itself, the box in which it was shipped to me had sustained damage that extended not only to the exterior shipping box but the laptop's packaging as well. Luckily, the damage was to the side of the laptop box that contained the power supply, documentation, and other accessories, so the intrusion into the box did not damage the laptop. If the same damage occurred to the other side of the box, however, I suspect the laptop itself would have been damaged because the box in which the laptop was packed did not provide much protection from physical damage to the top of the laptop (which sat pretty much flush with the box itself).
The laptop was packed in a cloth-like sleeve and also included a cleaning cloth that fit between the screen and keyboard when closed. With all of the updates that were required, it did take about an hour or so for the initial setup.
In order to maintain the price point, I suspect the largest compromise was with the screen, which has a reduced color gamut and does not achieve the same level of brightness as some more expensive laptops. Responsiveness as not as smooth as a more expensive screen either and the colors appeared "dull" to me. If you are not comparing side-by-side with another screen, however, I suspect the average novice or casual gamer may not notice, however. The screen does not have touchscreen capabilities, which may or may not be a big deal for some, although I am not quite sure how beneficial a touchscreen is or would be for a gaming laptop anyway. Another thing I discovered is that 165Hz refresh rate is automatically throttled down when running on the battery to lengthen use time. Ultimately, the screen is okay considering this is a "budget" gaming laptop, but nothing special.
The laptop itself has some heft to it, but I have yet to find a gaming laptop that doesn't, so that really is not a big deal for me. Just keep in mind that you will be lugging around not only the laptop itself, but the power supply as well. When I watched a movie through a streaming service, the battery (on "default" settings) lasted about 2.5 hours or so. Enough to watch an average movie, but that was about it. When gaming, the battery survived just over an hour (to an hour-and-a-half). Booting games seemed to take longer when the computer was running on its battery, but once the games were running, things ran smoothly at the default settings determined by the particular game.
The keyboard and touchpad are okay. As a touch typist, I admittedly prefer my mechanical keyboard, but laptops do not have such an option. Regardless, I found the keyboard easy to type on. There is a full numeric keypad as well, which is nice, although the keys have been narrowed horizontally to fit within the width of the laptop. There is a feature within the laptop's software that also allows for setting the default toggles on the keyboard, such as the function lock, number lock, caps lock, etc. One thing that was somewhat disappointing was that, while the keyboard is backlit with RGB LEDs, the color you choose applies to the entire keyboard. There is no individual or zoned backlighting. The software also seemed somewhat limiting in that you can choose the color (and adjust the brightness), and that is about it. While the colors will cycle through when the laptop is booting up, there is no option for any type of animation when using the laptop. Pick a color out of a dozen or so primary colors and that is it... No further customization or animation is allowed or provided as an option.
The laptop has adequate ports, although one of the USB-A ports is a 2.0 port, so if things seem to be slow, it may be because you are using the wrong Type-A port. There are two USB-C ports and I believe charging is allowed, but I did not actually test this feature.
The speakers are denoted as being Dolby Atmos speakers. Ultimately, though, they are laptop speakers. I found them to be adequate, but nothing special. (Then again, I have been hard pressed to find laptop speakers that really impress me.) The camera is 720p, but I found the image to be somewhat disappointing.
I did not mention much about the processor or the graphics card because they are obviously not the top-of-the-line, yet they cannot be to meet this particular price point. When the laptop is up and running, thing work as well as one would expect and, with the exception of slower load times (which could also be a function of the SSD the unit is using), I am not sure a novice or casual gamer would consider anything to be or feel slow.
Upgrading the laptop is relatively easy as the bottom shell is secured by a few screws that are all of the same length (which means no need to remember which screw was from which area to reassemble). A pry tool of some sort is required to pop open the case once the screws are removed, but the shell opened relatively easily once I was able to create a finger hold, so to speak. There is an extra M.2 SSD slot, although the screw and thermal stickers to use are packaged somewhat haphazardly within the box without any label whatsoever. As this is marketed as a budget gaming laptop that I presume will appeal to novice or casual users, having these accessories labeled may have been nice, lest they be thrown in the trash as extra, unnecessary parts. Along those lines, the laptop is shipped with 1 TB of SSD storage, which is not bad, but seems paltry for a gaming laptop considering that many games available today exceed 100GB in size when you download and install them. I added a 4 TB SSD for storing data as I found I ran out of primary storage space relatively quickly once I started downloading Call of Duty, Mortal Kombat 1, and other games that consumed considerable storage space. I did not check to see if the computer allows any RAID setups. Again, though, I suspect the average novice or casual gamer probably would not care much about that feature anyway. My particular unit included 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, which can easily upgraded to 64 GB (there are two SO-DIMM slots available and my unit came with 2x16 GB).
The software allow for three different performance settings. Unlike some other gaming laptops I have used, even when the fan is at full speed, it is noticeable but not excessively loud. The software also seemed to do a good job of recognizing when I was gaming to ensure it was using the discrete NVIDIA card as opposed to the built-in Intel graphics.
So, this brings me to the conclusion. Again, the laptop is capable and works well, although it does seem a bit slow at times with "background" tasks (loading games seemed slow). Once a game is running, though, the gameplay was smooth (at whatever display settings the game defaulted to) and should be find for any novice or casual gamer (or someone who must stay within a particular budget). With that being said, though, there are other similar laptops available for a better price (or, for the same price, include a few more features). I would probably recommend making sure this unit is on sale before making a purchase (and be sure to compare with other similar units for features versus price). Everything considered, it is not a bad laptop for the price, but there are arguably better options, which is why I gave a four-star rating. (Again, I reviewed on the premise that this was indeed a budget gaming laptop and, as a result, compromises had to be made. It would have been unfair to compare to a more expensive gaming laptop that could run two to three times the cost.) If you want a gaming laptop on a budget, this unit is not bad.

For pure computing power and gaming performance, this laptop can't be beat at its price point. All the hardware is high-end: Intel i7-13650HX up to 4.9GHz CPU, Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB GDDR6 SDRAM, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB SSD, 16" 165Hz 1920x1200 (WUXGA) IPS display. These specs make it suitable for serious gaming, A/V editing, and working multiple heavy demand apps. The operating system is the standard Win 11 Home.
In actual performance, it lives up to its potential. I play an MMO (massive multiplayer online) game and its performance on this game is outstanding. The game plays at an impressive 180 to 250 FPS and has even peaked at 400 FPS. Compare this to an older laptop (not a Gigabyte) I have equipped with a 13 gen i7-11370H CPU and an RTX 3060 6GB SDRAM, 16GB RAM. The older one plays the same game at 80 to 125 FPS and peaks at 200FPS. That's a huge jump for about the same price as I paid for the old one! Technology certainly keeps getting better.
The next consideration though is with all that power, does the laptop have a cooling system to keep it running. The answer is yes. Gigabyte's WindForce cooling technology easily kept the temperatures of the CPU and GPU in safe operating ranges. Again, comparing this Gigabyte laptop to my older one, during game play the Gigabyte temperatures maxed at 81C for the CPU and 61C for the GPU compared to 92C for the CPU and 78C for the GPU on my old laptop.
As I mentioned, you get tremendous computing power for the price. However, there are few frills to go with that power. The only added app/control is the Gigabyte Control Center (GCC). Everything else is the standard WIN 11 apps. The GCC includes some system settings (Performance/Entertainment/Quiet mode, Fan Turbo, Discreet GPU, CPU/GPU monitoring) and keyboard settings. The keyboard is a 1 zone RGB 15 color backlit with number keypad but there's no per key lighting and no effects. All you can do is change the backlight color to one of the 15 preset colors available. Keyboard and mouse macros can be created and per key functions can be customized. There is no gaming or display software to set up game presets or display visuals. The only display setting options are the standard Win 11 Home settings.
To sum it up, it's a great performing laptop at a great price point but a little disappointing that it doesn't at least offer display visual presets such as RTS/RPG, Racing, Cinema, etc.

The laptop came in a box without any excess packaging in a sleeve with a nice micro-fiber cloth to clean the screen.
The setup was the same as setting up any new Windows laptop, so that was a breeze.
I am happy having a 1TB SSD AND 32 GB of DDR5 RAM. I played Cyberpunk and did not experience any lag. With the fans and air vents, I didn't experince any heat.
The screen seemed larger than 16 inches, I think that is due to the very thin bezel. The screen resolution was ok, I wasn't blown away. Since I will be primarily using this with external monitors, this is not an issue.
I like that the keyboard is backlit, this is one of the features I love to have on my keyboards. This keyboard is not the best for typing, but it is adequate for gaming.
The sound quality was average for both video games and movies, but is easily resolved with a headset or external speakers.
For the battery life, I already expect it to be bad on such a high-powered machine. I really didn't stress this because I kept it plugged in. If you plan on gaming with just the battery, you will have to have some realistic expectations.
Overall this laptop is a gaming beast for its price point and I would recommend it to a friend.
